Indian system of 7 days is older than babylonians. Babylonian astronomy was not that powerful. Indians have 9 plants out of which only 7 are visible while two which are virtual in nature and only exists on the orbit interaction of sun and moon that's why they didn't assign a day tot that.

What days and how many days of school and holiday you have are only based off of the religious foundation your society is built upon, so no, you probably wouldnt have 8 days instead of 5 because then the whole thing would have to look different otherwise. In alot of middle-eastern countries for example, thursday or friday is the day away from school. So you get a day more than many countries in the world. And god-forbid you don't study on the weekends or finish your weekend homework in Japan. We have it easy in comparison.
When I lived in Israel we had school on Sunday to Friday but I only had school for 5 hours and on Friday I had school for 4 hours it was the best

I actually get it, but there a theory related to science that actually explains that the world was created not over a million years but just in a number of days/hours, when I find the perfect explanation I'll drop the reply. 'cause honestly if God took a day, which is 1000 years according to your (biblical) theory, that would mean that God took 1000 years to create Adam and Eve who were supposed to rule the world and all creation. This would actually mean that man wasn't needed to have dominion over the Earth 'cause essentially and basically the animals have been alright for 1000 years.
