How much exposure causes disease? I frequently had to sweep up a concrete floor which had compost on it and created almost like fog dust

I read in step up book that emphysema due to smoking is in the upper lobe and emphysema due to alpha 1 antitrypsin is in the lower lobe .. what is your opinion ??? 🤧

I did not know this
But upper lobe emphysema from smoking might occur more because smoke goes up (density reasons); hence affecting upper lobes more
As for alpha 1 antitrypsin; u lose elasticiity..
so with an inhalation most of the pressure goes downwards causing the already loose alveolar to become more loose (diaphragam has more effect on lower lobes than upper lobes
