Hello Dr. , what can be done for Scarring of the pleura ? I can't breath as well as before after I had pleurex catheters inserted due to pleural effusion.
My thoracic surgeon said to wait and see if it resolves overtime.thanks

I have the extrinsic example you used at the end of the presentation. Is there data on outcomes or problems that occur later in life? I'm 30 yo male and my estimated TLC was 8.8 liters but mine is 5.6 liters. Everything is basically exact from your presentation for low high and normal values. There is a surgery I can have done that could increase the volume by .5 liters give or take. Would this be worth it in the long run or no

just read a lung specialist summary that states "severe restrictive ventilatory defect with borderline significant acute bronchodilater response. Lung volumes show mild restriction severely impaired gas transfer". Can you tell me what this means please. Basically is this indicating a form of restrictive lung disease? Patient is 69yo female who is morbidly obese.

If someone has gone through this can they tell me what to do, I took a few hits from a puff bar about a week ago, and days later leading up till now, my throat has been cold every time I inhale, it somewhat feels like mint, and is uncomfortable to breathe, no hard time breathing ,but it’s uncomfortable. I’ve been consuming honey and drinking small portions of warm drinks to soothe the feeling but it comes back. Help

Not sure about ANYONE else but I feel fucked! What if I have Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Restrictive Airway Disease plus Asthma? Mine was caused from being in a very long Coma on a Ventilator and life support. Never smoked a day in my life! Diagnosed by a team of Pulmonoligist already.
