    It is a super remarkable explanation for patients to understand how to read CT scan for cancer nodules. Appreciated!

    Dr. Agrawai, I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide this information for patients. I am newly diagnosed and have been very concerned. Your presentation was very educational and better helped me to understand what my pulmonary and cardiologist attempted to explain to me. God bless you for your medical ministry and being willing to help .

      I had it. I never felt so sick in my life. Basically it was the beginning of Cancer but they didn't use the word cancer. I took immediate steps to change everything. I changed all my products to natural one's after learning what is in our daily use products.
      I also began a strict cancer fighting diet. Along with prayer to battle. In 6 months Jesus healed me and the nodule disappeared completely and I no longer felt sick. ( I would treat it like it's cancer right off even if your not sure.)
      You can do this on your own by stopping all forms of sugar and following a cancer diet and reducing any stress in your life. I am not a Dr. and have no medical history but from my experience the quicker you act the better. Besides doing these things can only benefit you anyway not harm you.

    Thank you, doctor. I was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2021. It's been 2 years, no evidence of cancer. Yes, I still have followed up every 3 months. By watching this video, it gave me validation that my diagnosis, treatment progress, and follow up are the same. It's just like second opinion. Great info and comfirmation.

      You are not alone, I too feel the same way. I had to beg the Dept of Veterans Affairs for a CT scan after just not feeling right. Almsot a year ago, sudden onset tiredness, loss of breath etc. Finally they listened to my fears and gave me a CT scan (had to wait 3 months) and results are back. 11 nodules that they measured 3 mm to 6mm. Numerous that was really small and didnt record. Then theres this mass in my medastinum. I dont know anything else other than they just referred me to pulnmonology. Hoping for the best but its scary. Makes me mad they just have been telling me its anxiety getting me all worked up.

    I was diagnosed with several hard nodules in 1981. The doctor said it was from air pollution and to not worry about them. I was 39 then. I’m going to turn 71 soon, and never gave them another thought until your video. I’ve had no problems, even though I smoked heavily until I was 45, then quitting “cold turkey” by the grace of God. @@geraldinemcwilliams5137. For years I have had a persistent cough. My doctor couldn’t explain it so she ordered a CT chest scan, which showed I have 2 lung nodules (3mm & 9mm) and bibasilar acteletasis (collapsed lower lungs). When I was 21, I spray painted military vehicles with paint that contained hexavalent chromium. I did not use a respirator or any other type of protection. I had to blow and wash the aerosolized paint out of my nose every night because I unavoidably inhaled it while painting. I’m now 63 and I go back for a follow up CT in Nov. 2023 to see if the nodules have grown. I hope you’re well.

I take everything on the internet with a grain of salt and recommend people stay away from the google rabbit hole as they'll terrify and confuse themselves almost in equal measure. Always speak to your specialist as soon as you can so THEY can explain what's written in the report. Thanks a ton for helping those who are worried or need guidance. To update: because of my family and personal cancer history, the biopsy was done, and YES, it was cancer. I am SO lucky that it was caught at Stage I. Surgery was done shortly afterward. It was very, very painful, due to collapsed lung that would not cooperate, and the two horrific chest tubes that I had to have inserted for 6 days. Surgeon did the routine taking of lymph nodes and determined, when they came up clean, that this is a "surgical cure," not necessitating chemo. For me it is scary to not have some "clean up chemo," but I am aware of chemo's ravages, also, so will take this present situation, and begin to live life VERY conscious of everything that I am doing and eating (and thinking! Our minds can be great sources of unhealthy stress!~). I want to live! Wishing all much good fortune. ~jmdm

    I had an ultrasound and biopsy done, and a few days later a CT scan as I have an solid enlarged lymph node in my neck. The biopsy was inconclusive and has gone for further testing. They said the CT scan showed a nodule in my lung.

    Here's my story. Oct 22 my primary Doctor wanted me to get a low dose CT scan #1 I'm a high risk cancer I had skin cancer several times. My grandfather passed away from Lung cancer. And Yes I smoke been over 30 yrs. YES IM STOPPING ✋
    SO THEY FOUND A SMALL NODULE FROM THERE I WENT FOR A PET SCAN THE SCAN SHOWED THE SAME. I DONT KNOW HOW BIG? SO NOW MY DOCTOR WANTS ME TO SEE A pulmonary doctor. Who I never seen before. I was wondering why not a Oncologist ? But I think yu answered my Qwestions. Thank yu 🙏😇

      i gave up cigarettes 10 months ago and my dr. wants me to do a low dose ct scan but i'm so afraid. i call it the beginning of the end. my parents died from a stroke and colon cancer but never had lung issues. still, i cannot get up the guts to go for a scan. Good luck on your quitting venture! patches worked for me this time.

    Funny this popped up today.
    I have a lung biopsy scheduled this Monday, 9.18.23.
    A "mass" (Dr.'s description) was detected in my left lung during a PET scan that was for abnormal thyroid polyps.
    I recently fell and broke my ribs. A CT was done to make sure I didn't puncture a lung. My primary Dr. became concerned when he saw the CT results. The mass in my lung keeps growing. Hence, the lung biopsy. I am almost 65, an ex-smoker and have alot of family history of lung cancer and bronchial tumors. Even the two women in my family that never smoked or drank, passed from these two things as well. I've already had a bronchoscopy about 6 years ago showing lots of nodules.
    I had the right side of my thyroid removed because it was calcified and growing rapidly. I recently had a fine needle aspiration on the left side of my thyroid. The ENT said everyone has thyroid polyps, so I didn't need to be concerned. The recent CT I had to make sure I didn't puncture a lung after the fall, shows that the polyps have changed significantly. Now, it's back to the ENT!
    All these tests, all the time, are tiring!
    I'm going to watch this video again and take notes, so that when I go for the biopsy, I will be armed with questions! Thank you Dr.!

    Thank you very much for taking your time to explain this to us. I have had a nodule for over 10 years and am on a high risk category
    I have f/u every year. The module has never grown
    Recently I had a CT scan
    After the results came back,I was referred for an MRI. The results
    .came back fine but with recommendation of repeat CT scans every 6 months. I was told because I am unable to take the contrast dye the scans needed to be more frequent .There has been to explanation as to what a lung nodule was nor what any of it really means. This past statement regarding the 6 month follow ups had me getting a bit concerned so I really appreciate your video.

    I was diagnosed with a cancerous nodule 11 mm and pet scan showed lymph node lit up also. I then had thru chest biopsy that verified nodule showed cancerous but lymph node did not. I’m now going to have robotic surgery two days from now to remove nodule and lymph nodes. If no cancer found in lymph nodes I’ll be done. I’m hoping that’s the results. I’m 71 and smoked till 5 years ago.

    Thank you for this video. I had a f/u CT scan a few days ago and I’m freaking out a bit. I had discovered 2 small 3mm and 4mm subpleural (???) nodules back in 2020 that haven’t changed; but they discovered two new nodules…one is a vague interval (???) groundglass nodule measuring 6mm and a interval new reticulonodular markings with contrast opacity measuring 7mm in size. I just have no idea what this means and it’s not noted if it’s solid or not? Please advise. They recommended a 3-6 month ct for new follow up, but I’m very worried and can’t function. Thank you for your time.

    • @ThoracicRadiology
      @ThoracicRadiology  2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Subpleural nodules are very common. That just means that the nodule is at the edge of the lung. These are likely benign especially since they are stable from 2020. The ground glass nodule and reticulonodular stuff is likely benign, but to be on the safe side, they want to follow it. The description doesn't sound too worrisome to me. I don't know what it is in your case, but maybe some residual old infection. Just do the follow up for your peace of mind. Good luck.

    CT scan in Jan. 2020 reviled 1.4cm nodule in my right middle lobe. Had 2nd CT scan a month later while there to get a biopsy, CT scan showed nodule measured 1.1cm, then I was told that there was no way to biopsy it because the doctor could not get the needle between my breast implant and my rib. According to the onocologist that they sent me to, the PET scan results were not cancerous, but the onocologist did not care and was not sure what the nodule is, I was simply told "great news you don't need me". He said to get another scan in a year, or if I was worried about it, six months. Eight months later, saw a AGACNP at a pulmonologist in Las Cruces who ordered a CT scan, the nodule in my right lung still measured 1.1 cm. The pulmonologist did not believe it was cancerous, did not know what it is, but did no other tests, and sent me on my way, offering no explanation as to what this nodule might be. My right side back hurts very badly all the time, about where this nodule is. I have had nine different primary care physicians in Arizona and New Mexico in the last three years now, telling each of them that I feel like I might be dying, and it hurts when I breathe. It's criminal what they've put me through here, I need help but there's nobody to go to.

    • @ThoracicRadiology
      @ThoracicRadiology  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sometimes we can't say for sure what a nodule is, and the best we can hope for is to do a follow up to make sure it doesn't grow. glad yours has been stable or even smaller.
