Did the Kung-fu masters go and join the tournaments held by the Japanese army? No, no, no. They were forced to attend the tournaments. No. Donnie Yen is only fit for ip man character of the movie version but the real historical ip man differs greatly from the movie. The real ip man is not as exciting and cool as Donnie portrayed him in the movie.

What was even worse than working so hard without a decent compensation was: "They were all killed by those Japanese black belts." He was naturally infuriated and maximized all his strength to fight the black belts to avenge his friends' deaths.
