    For anyone curious to buy this, this case does have different compatibility compared to its dynamic counterpart. This one supports an atx power supply where the dynamic supports sfx, I also believe you can use offset brackets in the dynamic for a 360 rad but not in the air mini. Hope this helps!

      And about the case of course its not perfect but it has few aspects that fit the needs of quite a lot of people. Talking about the XL these 2 are very different, I want this case since I want to save space while I fit regular ATX components, XL is too big for my planned setup.

    • @eliadbu

      @space man cable management and custom cables, I've seen modders that have done much more than you did like building watercooled ITX with aquaero controller and still the nailed the build. Of course average PC builder does not have the tool skills time (and maybe money) to build such PCs, but believe me fitting all of that storage is not impossible to that case.

    Okay I walked into this unboxing expecting "Oh, it's a Mini with a vent on the front."
    The "Full ATX PSU" support knocked my socks off. As with the additional 3.5" sleds where the side mount used to be, and included fans for the price.
    It's going to be a bit chubbier than the already fairly chubby original Mini as a result though. But really, ATX PSU was THE #1 demanded feature from the original release, so I'm not surprised at all about the change.
    Honestly, you're giving me buyers' remorse for getting the original Mini! And I've wanted that case since they teased it!

    No joke agree about air cooling. I've built more than a few custom cases designed specifically with duct work to isolate and move the hot air as efficiently as I could manage. If you go as far as to plan for hardware and make tailor made ducting you can get really impressive numbers with low sound pollution. I've also built one where the case is basically just a massive radiator/heat pipe style heat sink with fans along to push flow (similar to the one featured recently). You can get solid results that route and even if a fan (that's nearly non existent rpm or sound wise) goes out you're not going to overheat on standard loads.

    There is a large gap in pc cases that can fit an ATX motherboard, but can be placed horizontally in a living room and look decent. Corsair icue 220T is grazing that line, but is still quite bulky for the purpose. At the same time ATX mobo with a mini GPU has a fairly small footprint. The reason behind doing it is converting an older rig into a living room pc. Those who got a living room pc don't go back)

  • @BTMcSweeney
    @BTMcSweeney 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The GPU didn't fit in the top slot because you installed the CPU cooler backwards. The D15S has an 8mm offset to move the fin stack away from the GPU, but if you put it in upside down it overhangs the top PCIe slot by 8mm instead.

  • @Cpgeekorg
    @Cpgeekorg 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    if you're using a consumer cpu like most folks (i.e. not threadripper or xeon), ALWAYS put the gpu in the first slot because it's the only slot that works at 16x. you don't need clearance between the cpu heatsink and gpu because the cpu heatsink blows front to back. while the airflow across the gpu backplate suffers, (which isn't great for a 3080/3090 with back side vram) it's the sacrifice you make if you use a big air cooler. I wish that nvidia hadn't resorted to a rear-side memory configuration, but the only ways around that are some kind of active back plate / liquid cooling situation. Personally i have a generic barrow liquid cooler on my 3090 gaming x trio and kept the stock backplate but modified it by adding a heatsink with thermal pads to it could more efficiently carry more heat away.

    I like the case but think it needs some changes like the height should be 400mm x 400mm for better AIO fitment. It needs to change on the front fan bracket back to a normal fan bracket and the Front I/O should be on the Front middle or bottom as this is more a Desk Top case and the ease to use the I/O when sitting down instead of standing each time you want to use. It is sad the case companies have to save a nickel by eliminating the 1 head/mic jack.

      It is upside down, it's the D15S which has an 8mm offset upwards to move the fin stack away from the GPU. But if you put it in upside down like this it completely blocks the top PCI slot.

    hmmm if you want to fit "all the things" buy the O11 Dynamic XL, started with a 360 aio and an air cooled gpu, one year later I have a triple 360mm cpu-gpu-vrm liquid cooling setup, the XL barely has enough space for my cables and 2 commander pro, until you've built a corsair rgb build I'd see why you would think "plenty of space in this case"

  • @PitboyHarmony1
    @PitboyHarmony1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow ... Lian Li really has kicked it up with this one.
    I have a big complicated build, and I would be able to fit it all in this case.
    ATX, full size PSU and the most mammoth GPU you can buy, and still 4HDD and 2SSD's.
    As long as you dont need a custom water loupe, who needs an XL case, if it will all jam in this?
    Case manufacturers just turned their heads and took notes.
    Cant wait till Steve takes a look at it.

    You guys should do a case round up specifically looking at cases that fit in the FJÄLLBO TV bench (that it looks like you have in this set).
    I'm currently using a Thermaltake Core G3. It's a little too deep and sticks our the back. The biggest issue is that the GPU strugggggles to get any airflow through the tiny intake.
    Definitely not too niche and well worth a full LTT series :P
    (I mean you already have the TV bench)

  • @marsmonster3947

    I'm still using the giant Thermaltake level 10gt snow edition. I believe Linus did a review of it in 2011. It's kind of ugly, but with a case, functionality is best. I've never seen my temps get out of the low to mid 70s at the absolute highest. Hard drive bays are hot swappable. I won't be changing cases anytime soon. Rgb is unnecessary.

    If you want to look at an even smaller form factor that fits ATX Mobo/PSU, the Raijintek Thetis is pretty solid (pun intended). I have been rocking it for a year. It fit a Noctua NH-U14S pretty easily until I switched over to an Arctic Cooler Liquid Freezer II 240. Rocking a X570 AORUS PRO WIFI, Ryzen 5950 (I am a dev who uses docker a lot) and a GTX 1070 FE. It is 210(W) x 360(D) x 366(H) mm vs this o11 being 280(W) x 400(D) x 384(H) mm
