If you regear, replace the front and rear differential fluid with amsoil (old or not, should help reduce efficiency losses), pump up the boost a little to make up for the altitude, make the transmission changes, and change the transmission fluid too, you’d probably gain some significant acceleration. You could also do pure water injection. Cheaper than methanol water but also, if you’re running e85, no point in using methanol. I guess this is all stuff if you really want to be picky about it, but that’s an awesome truck
I really like the later lx470 tail lights like yours, I have an 04 and am thinking about looking for a set of some to swap mine over. I also really like the spoiler and rear bumper on yours.
I had just discovered Elate and messaged them today. I have a 2009 gx470 and need the same boost of power. I tow a conqueror trailer and am on 35s so the truck is far from stock, I would really like to know more details. For the transmission issue you were talking about look at wholesale automatic for a" nomad valvebody kit" and t/c lock up.... $1200 -ish. I think cruiser bros distribute for them in the US
I’ve got the TRD unit with Unichip, Doug Thorley Headers and exhaust. XAT racing pulley kit and rpm gates belt. Also it’s a 9th and 10th injector unit (added after the fact). I lean out a bit in 3rd so I need a tune. Waiting for a new 5” stanio snorkel and new airbox from InHouse Fabrication from Australia.
Damnit… now I want to do this to my 05 tundra I’ve long long tubes, a airaid intake pipe, and a full dual exhaust with X pipe. She’s happy. But more power would be even better.
I went with the Elate blower instead of Bullet because a) bullet wouldn't respond to my emails (seriously) and b) the Elate kit was less money for all the same features and c) I didn't need the ECU tuning that Bullet includes with their kit.
Did you have the engine rebuilt at all before installing? I’ve got about 260k on my LC100 and have always been worried it’d blow up if supercharged. Im also in Denver so this was very helpful with all the altitude info. Getting up through Vail pass is always a mission in these clunkers haha.
My truck has 289k on the original engine. I did not rebuild it. I just did basic maintenance, timing belt, water pump, front main seal, valvecover gaskets etc. I did a compression test and all cylinders were in good shape. Keeping the boost below 6 PSI should let the motor live a long time even with a blower. Dude I can climb I-70 all day in overdrive, it's awesome!
Thanks for the video man and it also helps that were both in Colorado! I currently have the option to buy a used TRD supercharger only vs the elate and they both come out to the same price; would do you think? I'm leaning more towards the elate, also I have a 2004 if that helps.
Definitely Elate. Who knows how many miles are on the TRD and it may be missing parts vs the Elate is brand new with everything included. Also Elate has an intercooler.
This is awesome, getting mine done also :) Do you get a constant 5.5 psi through the rev range? Or does it scale up and max out at 5.5 psi at redline? Thanks
Yes I have! Right now the engine is fine but if something goes wrong in the future I will probably do that. I've been keeping my eye out for a spare engine to rebuild for cheap
Can you get a bigger supercharger from Elate? I know the 2uz rods are weak and cant handle much boost, I'm wondering if some one built a 2uz running a bigger supercharger and smaller pulley with 12 to 15 lbs of boost.
Are you in Colo Springs? Wonderful results and such a clean install? How much has it damaged your gas mileage? How is it doing on cold starts? Did Elate have any issues with the existing fuel pump being able to deliver enough go juice? Very jealous, would make a wonderful Xmas present. Thanks again for sharing.
No up in the Denver area. Thanks man appreciate it. If I am just driving normally the MPG has been the same as before, runs like stock on cold starts etc, just runs awesome. I am using an AEM high flow fuel pump already. Elate recommends at least replacing the pump with a fresh OEM one.
You went 12 hole!!!!! There is a dyno test on those 😆. Nicely done on the install. It is interesting to see your 0-60. I believe that the 0-60 on my SC 100 is slightly faster on the 4 speed, but you would probably be much faster at speed with the 5 speed.
Haha yep! We should put the Dragy on your truck and see what the numbers say! 0-60 is kind of an arbitrary measurement of acceleration anyway and highly dependent on gear ratios etc. We have to race either way :)
That's awesome but I'm happy right now. Sequoia is lighter and you are probably at much lower altitude than I am. This video is shot at 6000 ft elevation.
@@Turboactive so 4.7 / 8 * 2 = 1.2 L the volume for 2 pistons so 1.9L is enough , do you have a PSI gauge with a vacuum scale on it? I will show you my I can push 9 PSI something is not right on yours, did you delete air silencer under the fender?
@@skhochay I checked out your truck you have a different type of blower (twin screw), the blower I have is a Harrop Roots type which makes less boost. You have a sweet couple trucks! The manufacturer of my blower says this is the boost I should see at my altitude and it's definitely fast so I think everything is working correctly. I did a smoke leak test and didn't have any boost leaks either.

seriously thinking of buying a kit for my 99 LC. ive had the truck for almost 8 years now and this seems like the best super
charger kit out there.
Yeah I agree and especially for the price. It fits so nicely also

fantastic work buddy!! That looks like it would be a BLAST to drive!

yo, sweet set-up. i’m considering something similar for my 100. just starting the research process. is there a compelling reason you went with Elate? i’ve only read about Bullet© superchargers. looks like you’ve done all the work yourself. i’m not very mechanically inclined so will be relying pretty heavily on my local mechanic. was it a major project or were you able to knock it out in a day or two?

Toyota 💯🤌🏽
Your engine has just broken in. Save your money to fix the expensive shit that needs to be replaced, manifold brake booster, suspension

This is awesome, getting mine done also :) Do you get a constant 5.5 psi through the rev range? Or does it scale up and max out at 5.5 psi at redline? Thanks
The red digital LED gauge on top of my steering column is a boost gauge. It starts around 3-4 PSI off idle and climbs up to 5.5 at redline.
What mpg are you getting around?
Same as stock about 12-14 MPG depending on speeds.

SWEET hat.
How much was the total cost for installation and tuning? What’s your new MPG average?
I installed and tuned it myself. MPG is the same
@Turboactive what did you use to tune this? A oem ecu? Kess/ktag? I wonder how different this ecu is vs the 1st gen tundra.

About 270k
