    Some day I will but right now its not Gods will. I would love to enter into Carmel but have to clear up debts and a lot of places don't even take older. But for now I will just continue to pray and smile watching all the love that the sisters have in these video's.

      Joel Obando--You've got a statue or prayer card to help that prayer along? ROFL.

    • @archsword2446
      @archsword2446 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yap! I have a card and I do ask the intercession of the first canonized saint. You can read Jesus canonization of St. Dismas in your Bible and if you think St. Dismas is dead, read Jn 3:16 and if you think saints cannot intercede for us read Rev. 5:8. Have a blessed day.

      Joel Obando--ROFL--so you admit that YOU, TOO are little more than a pagan, praying to pasticized cards and plaster of paris icons of dead people who have no more or less power than you do. You go right on believing in fairy tales. It suits you--you are now on IGNORE. Go babble to yourself for awhile.

      One MercilessMing as far as I know, what comes to my mind whenever I see St. Dismas image is the gift of Jesus to him as he converted and his humility and not the materials it is made of because that is the normal people would think but I dont know your case. Probably, you are thinking of the materials it was made of, whenever you see a Crucifix or a picture of a saint. Do you answer the materials ,that comprises an abstract question sheet, in a psycho exam? E.g. paper, plastic, cardboard etc.

    Why have so many nuns left the convent over the past 4 decades? There's more to the story, right?

    • @onemercilessming1342

      :L G--Oh, yes, indeed, there is more to the story. Nuns leave convents for many reasons. A college friend of mine had left during her postulant year because she wanted to be a teacher and the Church wanted her to be a nurse. Here are a few other reasons: A crisis of faith that won't be resolved with prayer, fasting. The mind-numbing drudgery of the daily routine. Poor food. Personal flagellation for penance (yes, they do that). Confessing the smallest "sin" to the assembled sisters. Calling out another sister for an observed "sin", regardless of how minor. The hours of silence. The monotonous, daily routine. Few outside contacts. Work for which one may not be suited (I remember well the nuns who hated teaching and the nun who chastised a woman in labor for crying out by saying, "I'll bet you didn't scream like this when you were conceiving this child". (Yes, that was actually said in a Catholic hospital in NE PA).
      How do I know these things? At one point, I considered taking the veil. Thank God I had a confessor who vehemently advised me against it as I was far too independent, willful, and,, in his words, "too smart for your own good". As for the hospital labor room comment, that was said to a friend of mine when she had her first baby.

      There are even more who entered in the past decades. Dont worry, God will make a way.

      Joel Obando--I find it interesting that "God will find a way" to push Christian women into an abusive--yes, abusive--living arrangement with other sexually repressed and frustrated women. The Hebrews (later Jews) got along with God just fine without consigning their women to convents, which are a holdover from pagan gods and temples which required either virginal celibacy (Roman Vestals) or, worse, virgin sacrifice (Baal). A few cases of sacrifice in order to gain a boon from the gods didn't put scores of women into cloisters (Agamemnon, Jephthah), neither did a promise made to God if a particular prayer request was granted (Hannah). Keep in mind that CONSECRATION of the first born son is, according to most scholars, NOT meant as human sacrifice. However, consecration of the first born male animal was. The human first born male was to be redeemed with the animal sacrifice, until Jesus became the redeemer of mankind, eliminating the need for offering up a sheep or some other domesticated stock animal. thetorah.com/giving-your-firstborn-son-to-god/

      One MercilessMing continue your pagan views aboùt the nuns and the Catholic church. These nuns are happier with their vocation because of the peace within which, I think, you do not have. If I were you, watch the EWTN Coming Home Network and see how lots of protestants, atheist evangelicals, etc is coming back home, some even become priests or nuns, and maybe you will.

      Joel Obando--GOFL. And what do you think your uber-religious views are but adherence to pagan rituals and beliefs adopted by the Roman and Eastern Orthodox churches and continued on by those Protestants that evolved from those groups? You are NOT me, and thinking, rational people know that the corrupt church is not "home". The people whom you insist are "flocking" to these homophobic, archaic, misogynistic "coming home" groups are those whose churches are fading from existence due to dwindling numbers. It's no accident that studies show that the less well-educated a person is, the more likely that person is to be duped by the snake oil salesmen sodomites known as priests, pastors, and deacons.
