- I played FE6 Reverse Recruitment on my channel a while ago, and the lord was a true meme lord: the ultimate growth unit. Terrible base stats, but bonkers growths, and the strangest promotion pattern ever. These are the highlights involving Karel in FE6 Reverse Recruitment, including all his fantastic level-ups.

@@royplatt455 Well in general it promotes bases over growths. Karel just has stupidly insane growths which are balanced due to him being introduced as a promoted level 19 in the absolute last mission. Karel is just an absolute god.
@@royplatt455 Karel is just a bad example for this, because his growths pretty much don't matter and thus the developers could do shenanigans with him.

@@Forslimjims In general bases over growths yes, but that's because most people overrate minor differences like 10% or 20% growth edges over significant base leads. When you get growths this high (close or over 100%) growths are more important.

Never ended using Villager Donnel, always Second seal him away into a Mercenary, then promote him into Hero, THAT Donnel was a beast xd (and no competitive at all, just op for the sake of being op xd).
If there's any one critisism of this series I have, it's not having Karel's demotion accompanied by GT Goku becoming a kid again. But holy Kaga on high, having a unit with growths like this is truly fascinating when you think about it, especially in vanilla. Awesome series, Meqqah!

@@meowistforlife Only because Karel's level 1 bases should actually be highly negative. Just going back to level 1 swordmaster, Karel should have 4 HP, -4 strength, 2 skill, -3 speed, -5 luck, -6 def, -6 res. Then you still have to subtract promotion bonuses and at least 10 levels of myrmidon. Karel actually started with the stats he should have as level 5 sword master.

I'm a bit sad that the redemption arc was cut for the adaptation, but on the whole I'll take it. Good fun.

Yes. I think the Transformation to SSG3 would have been funnier if he had his hair in Blazing Sword and then changes to Binding Blade hair so the “So what you changed your hair,” makes sense.
I love how they act all surprised at how good the level ups are.

I really hope we can get an FE6 Karel in Heroes. I love the "redeemed" persona. He's like the Kenshin Himura of Fire Emblem.
We were so close to getting that with the Binding Blade banner released last month.
However, we ended up getting Ascended Fir instead.
Personally, I’d have much preferred the idea of Sword Saint Karel as the Ascended hero, but I’ll admit that it’s likely due to me not having that much experience with Fir to be able to like her.

The timing on that promotion scene was legendary, especially with the stat boosts.
Bases may be more useful but growths are sexier.

super saiyan karel, yough, old reliable dayan, old unreliable zeiss, douglas i mean bors, the bard train, capped speed clarine, force deployed deke who killed maybe one thing in total, mustache igrene, hard mode bonuses lugh, percefail, peak performance garret... like almost every unit was cool in their own right
Hey take that back about Deke.
At the lake map, where you recruit OG Karel, Deke did kill a Wyvern and that Druid with the Armads.
But in the first run of that map we all remember how both Zeiss and Deke failed us.
From Zeiss, I am totally fine with but from Deke as well?

It's the beginning of his "walk down / attack down" animation. It looks weird because usually you'd see it in an animation showing his armor moving around, but he isn't moving there.

They can be useful, but definitely not a "must kill every enemy on the map".
Why would you want to give 3 exp to a useless unit (because early promoted units DOES suck) instead of 30 exp to a usable unit only to have them being a beast after reaching level 20 and promoting :S

This story hás Karel... He fights to not be a burden... But he beber gave up.. but Plot(aka GOD, aka Writers) shows up and negates his progress but God failed, he misunderstood our potential...and we showed what is to be Mekkah, The Hero Soldier(sometimes)

the next challenge to do in FE6 and it is not hard to do, it is that every unit had karel growths or every unit gain 100 exp. it is cheating with AR codes but it is a fun challenge to record.
If you can live with saving a hero crest for him...

Does this translate to his actual lore? He was probably like in his 30-40s in FE7 right? I actually believe lore wise that he's one of the strongest humans, he just lacked any magical capability. I mean we doesn't know what happened to Guy, right? Maybe he just snapped one day and accidentally killed Guy, thinking he was strong enough. Or maybe he killed Guy from the same situation but because Guy hesitated, but that leaves Guy's death a mystery.
