Van is stunning Steve but the video is even better. What a heart warming film of you and your boy Fred riding together in the van. I've got similar memories and my boy is thirty years of age this June. Bad news for you mate is that Fred will grow up way to fast. Good news for you is that when he's thirty he will still ride in the van with you and you will still adore each other just as much. 👍
Hi Andy, Thank you for the lovely comments... I have 3 boys total, eldest is 9 and Fred being the youngest @ 4 but they are all fantastic boys, all very different in their own little ways... we love going camping as a family now that I have the van and I am hoping that when they are Thirty maybe they will take me in theirs :-)

Steve. Looks really nice and I think I’m favouring the winter look. My indium grey T6 has so far only been lowered and left on its Devonports as I can’t seem to make up my mind. I fear I may be going down the route of summer and winter plumage too. 🤦♂️
Thanks buddy 😊. It’s dangerous owning possibly the most modifiable van on the road 🤦🏼♂️. I still have my davenports too as might be handy if I need to carry excessive weight. Can see that happening but they would only make a few hundred pounds so better off keeping them 🤙

I’m in the process of waiting on my new T6 being built, and I’ve trawled through thousands of alloys as I wasn’t happy with the ones that were chosen by the company who are building the van as like you they were 20” black DTM’s and everyone has them or similar so I’ve gone for something very different and mean. Your vans looking awesome 😎🤙

Steve Field oh definitely excited 😜 should be 7th March we pick it up from Van Haven. Will be a good road trip as were in North Yorkshire near Scarborough. Will take some pics and send you some when we get it. Keep up your great content, those Cades really suit your van.

Steve Field yeah I can’t complain with Van Haven so far so good, we have come up with some nice touches and they have listened to what I want for our family van. Can’t wait and hopefully get to some shows with her in the new show season. 🤙😆

I hope you smeared the hub flange with copper slip grease....I fitted 20” alloys to mine and 4 years later, when the garage tried to remove them for the first time, they had become seized on!
Oh shoot! That’s not good. But it’s good tip👍. I do use copper slip a fair bit due to owning an old car with same issue years ago but my wheels are never on for more than 6 months at a time as I have 3 sets 😬😂.
Looking good, also a good idea switching over to dark for the winter, I'm always battling road salt on my silver bars and sportline alloys. hate salt lol
Thanks buddy, Yes it is good so far... they look ok when they are dirty too and still transforms when you clean so win win.. :-)
Be careful, having wheels with a load rating less than that required by the plate can result in big fines. You need to get the load down rated to use them legally. They also invalidate your insurance.

Hi Steve - new boots look tremendous. Have you ever considered mud flaps ? ( thinking go the shot blasting on the side bars). The OEM fronts are fine but the rears are a tad odd. Did you also contemplate sealing the new alloys with the likes of Poor Boys wax ? Keep up the tidy content please. Loving the intro edit by the way ....
Cal S Thanks buddy 😊. I have considered yes and like you in not sure about the rears as the sit halfway up the bumper so it’s kept me from adding flaps. They would be blummin useful though!! Re the protection, that’s a good point I haven’t protected them yet but I do want to restock on my detailing get as im really low on stuff again due to regular washes over the winter 🤙. Is poor boys wax good stuff?
Not a black wheel fan but they look great.van is a mixture of aggression aswell as still classy.cracking job.anyone says any different they must be jealous..W BASE great company.had 4 sets in my time from them.

Hi Richard, Thank you ☺️. Well in this video and around this time it was lowered by 50mm on the Customvanz Raceline Eibach springs, but in more recent videos you’ll see I have take the van to Airride now. 👍

I’ve just taken delivery of a 6.1, want it to look good but needs to be usable and not ride like bone shaker.

@@richardclatworthy6381 congrats on your 6.1 plenty of fun ahead 👌. I honestly for the lowered 50mm springs on the 20s to be a better ride than the standard springs on the stock davenports 👌. Had plenty of family trips in comfort and looked really good👍

Love your channel. You make the diy changes look very easy. How does it work if you change your wheel sizes eg from 17s to 20s with regard to your speedo (speed and mileage)?
Thank you 😁, it does effect the speedo so tyre size is important. I run 275 / 35 / 20 which keeps my rolling ratio very similar so mine is marginally out but if you have 275 / 40 / 20. You will increase the overall radius by a noticeable amount and that can alter speedo so 6-10% potentially.. I can also cause the wheels to rub on full lock in so cases too.

GKUK Dash Cam VW Cali Helloooooo, I didn’t intend to use the in van footage until I watched it back 😂. I couldn’t see what Fred was doing behind me as the mirror was switched to Rear cam. Legend. 😂. I can’t get anything past my wife so I stood tall “might of fluffed the how much a little bit 🤣”

Hi Steve looks great. I’ve got black on mine aswell. Only thing is I find them a nightmare to keep clean, mine are gloss though. Also I go through loads of black tyre gloss because my tyres quickly look grey. Other than that, I love the look. Keep up the great work
GDub Camper looks a lovely van buddy!! Yes it’s strange that the tyre goes lighter than the wheel at first but they look a lot better dirty than my silver wheels do so I think it’s still a win 😎. Yours being gloss will still tempt a daily clean as apposed to a weekly one I’m guessing 😁. 🤙

Steve, what's the opinion of the Transporter HQ lights at night?
Well, I love the Seq indicators, Im happy with the DRL although would love it even more if i couldn't see the LED's and the were full defused... But still happy... Lights at night is say, "Better def better but I would still like more if it was available as my other vehicle has Xenon headlights and is worlds apart. I have made a video on this if you have not seen it?.

spaynter my evaluation in the lights when I think about it is. If an existing van has those stock headlamps there is no better headlamp on the market to improve it for under £600 “as far as I am aware” but given the chance I would def have paid the extra £1500 at the factory. 🤙

Activated Winter mode
What drill did you use to take the wheel nuts off cheers
Its a Kielder 18V 1/2" Impact Wrench with a 4Ah Battery. I carry it on the van in event of puncture as has the torque to pull the nuts off when they are fully torqued up with any pre loosening . I still use a torque Wrench to torque the nuts on refitting though.

Did you powder coat your side bars?
No buddy that is the factory finish from Vanstyle if you opt for black.
Steve Field mine are chrome & was thinking of getting them powder coated black as well as the roof rails 🤔
Lee C I don’t know how much the powder coating would set you back? But it’s worth noting that you can get these bars for about £110 from vanstyle already in the black 👍
Didn’t you fancy a 40 profile on a slightly narrower tyre? Such as 255/40/20?
P definitely, but I think you get some rubbing on full lock with lowered van on that tyre. I don’t get any on the 275/35/20 so still pleased with the set up. 👍
