@yvettemonique4330 lemon meringue pie was my parents and grandma's favorite pie they would call me to bake some homemade lemon meringue pies for the holidays and my favorite was the coconut meringue pie all homemade also. I loved how they all would enjoy eating my pies lol. It was fun. 😊
I loved an enjoyed watching your video thank you for sharing with us. My favorite is the coconut meringue pie back in my days in the 70's i learned to do the lemon meringue pies and coconut meringue pie in homemaking in high school and for a grade each student had to invite two teachers to taste them and then grade us. I never asked any teachers I always asked my principal Mr Little and mrs Adams his receptionist they loved my pies and they always gave me A+ and my homemaking teacher also loved my pies. Very happy memories. 😊 God bless you 🙏
Loved your video of your memories of the good 'ol days. I had a similar up bringing here in Southern Indiana. My Stepmother made that pulled candy. She was from down your area. Loved that stuff!!! My Grandma, who lived with us, made every pie you can think of. My favorites are Coconut Cream and Pecan. Thanks for the walk back in time. Sorry for this generation. They will never know what they missed.
My Dad’s favorite pie was a chocolate pie, but he liked a real dark chocolate pie. I like any pie but I guess chess pie is one of my favorites as well as coconut cream pie. Also from Kentucky. Louisville as a matter of fact. Love Kentucky. Several families would meet after evening church at one of the congregations home who had cows . And we would make several gallons of homemade ice cream with that fresh cream. It was so good
Coconut cream pie is my favorite. My sister bought a Better Crocker cookbook about 50 years ago and I used that recipe for years. Delicious. Unfortunately, the cookbook is gone and I don't remember how to make it exactly. It was not like yours, although your recipe will be delicious, I am sure! Blessings to you!
Wonderful! I had never known how cream pies were made, and now I feel I could do it myself! I’ll bet this pie IS delicious! Even though you recommend not using milk substitutes, I would need to, because I can’t digest butterfat. I think oat milk would be the best of the substitutes to use, as it is the creamiest of all of them. I’m loving hearing your stories and tips! Thank you! ❤
Coconut Cream Pie and Key Lime Pie are definitely on my list of favorites. I grew up in Germany so my absolute fav is a good old-fashioned Apple with Streusel buttery sheet cake. I have a 150-year-old Russian recipe for a cheesecake that makes its own crust, so good! I love just about any fruit pie, cream cake like hazelnut or mocha or a tart citrus in the summer. Love spice cake, all liqueur cakes, buttercream or the lightest of sponge cakes with the lightest of cream - not a fan of plain vanilla, but a really good chocolate mousse cake is something special.
I’ll have a go making this pie. I love anything coconut except for hand creams. 😅 For some reason I just find it irritating! Weird but well, that’s that. Too bad nobody shared anything regarding your request which I find it very interesting and being one sho loves to read I have read many stories here being shared by total strangers from all across the globe. I was born in the middle east where the Arabian gulf is, mixed-blooded half Persian and half Arabian and despite the fact that most of our relatives are in Persia we did not pick up none of their traditions even though we do share one religion still traditions vary from country to another. Our traditions are mostly focused on special dishes made on special occasions some of which considered prolonged occasion like a long period of time say a whole month which due in less than a week. Ramadan, is called. It’s a fasting month you probably heard of it now that the globe has grown smaller. 😄 In Kuwait, where I was raised.. families get together on Ramadan and share greetings and dine every evening after sun down around a table full of special dishes that one would only enjoy on Ranadan.. well, mostly but some would prepare it on regular days throughout the year but keeping it made on Ramadan gives it a different flavor to both taste and environment. There’s meat porridge usually served with a good sprinkle of ground cinnamon and a generous amount of clarified butter.. and sweet dumplings, deeply fried round-shaped dumplings dipped in sugar syrup. Those are the two dishes that all houses would prepare alongside other dishes but usually come second in line like, fragrant milk pudding, vegetable fritters, another type of slow-cooking poultry porridge simmered down to a density looking more like a thick hearty soup either made with chicken or lamb meat filled with spices and tomato sauce, garnished with h raw or sautéed onions lightly seasoned and scattered with a number of plumped raisins along with a drizzle if clarified butter. Called Jereesh. Pardon me for writing too long I just feel like writing tonight. 😅 There is more to say regarding Arabian Islamic tradition but the space is way too short. I recommend you read about it and perhaps visit a country of choice in the future. Have a bright day and thank you for giving us the opportunity to speak a little about our traditions. 🍃💐
I love a custard pie cannot stand coconut, but I would make that for my ex-husband and my son because I know they love coconut pie. I am new to your channel and I just subscribed. Have a blessed day.
We just laid my dad to rest Monday. This was his favorite desert. I tried to find a bottle of Pepsi glass bottle. He always had to have a ice cold glass bottle of Pepsi sitting by his recliner so when he came through the door he could drink it. Couldn't find a glass bottle of Pepsi so I just got a Pepsi and put it in the casket with him.
Where do I begin? I’ve never tasted a pie that I didn’t like! Your coconut pie is the same recipe that I use. It is delicious!
