Was in military 22 years. Mole skin: Cut a hole size of blister and place around it. Take a second layer, no hole and place on top of base layer. Wrap medical tape on foot around the mole skin, put sock back on. Trust me, better than placing mole skin on blister. Just FYI
Thank you!
Thank you!
Anti persperant before shoes
Wearing 2 pairs of socks eliminates the problem altogether.
Great tip. Thanks.
Rule number one..tell no one you're a prepper. Especially on social media 😆
definitely a good rule,, many gun nuts are bragging how they don't need to prep as their guns will allow them to steal from people that do prep..to bad so many gun nuts are such horribly selfish people,, i love my many guns but would never think they give me the right to steal..
You're a pepper!
Does anybody here think a Bible would be a good item? Nobody seems to think of preparing spiritually which will take you further than any physical prepping can do. I think it’s wise to do both.
I have a list taped inside my closet door with a few items to grab in a burry. My bible is on that list. Otherwise, I encourage all to read and study the bible, memorize scripture to keep in your heart when you are without your bible to recall passages of comfort.
I agree 💯. The LORD JESUS said ' I HAVE MEAT TO EAT THAT YOU KNOW NOT". His word is meat indeed.
Hopefully the title of the video would suggest - things you didn’t think about….
Exactly! What the heck are you goi g to do 24 hours a day in the wilderness? I’d be reading the Bible 4 hours a day at least.
😂
You left out my number one. Trash/leaf plastic bags. ... 100's of uses. back pack rain cover, emegency rain coat, water storage/carry, ....
Large leaf bag makes, a awesome sleeping bag cover, keeps sleeping bag, dry, and adds another 10+ degrees in of escaping heat... Trap water, gater leaves all kinds of good stuff

I recommend fishing line and aluminum cans for a security system. Tie the fishing line around your camp site with the cans on the line. Add a couple pebbles in the cans. When something trips the line it will rattle loudly and alert you.
While in the military, one of my assignments was working ops with a 4-hr deployment tether, so our bags had to be ready to go. I’d wrap several inches of duct tape around some old plastic cards (like old subscription cards) which was more compact than keeping it on the roll. When I was in SERE, I rolled my ankle during the evasion portion. I used duct tape to wrap and stabilize my ankle (on top of socks) for couple days until the rescue. Worked like a charm! It was a bit difficult but not impossible to pull off.
While on the subject, is 100mph tape really the best?
thank you for your service 🙏
FEMININE PRODUCTS, females you know will THANK YOU!
They are also EXTREMELY good for wounds, I always keep some in my first first kit, and for lighting a fire....along with a small tub of petroleum jelly, as far as I'm concerned it's pretty much the best for starting a fire.
I also strongly suggest all kinds of feminine products, not just in case of a surprise accident. Cotton inside of Tampax, is basically rolled up gauze, that can be used as for medical moments, cuts, scrapes, padding to protect a wound. Sanatary pads, doesn't matter what brand, however, try to get the house hicker pads and use them as pressure bandages. Men may not want to have them face up against their foreheads or ears, however, leave the sticker on, and wrap the wound /cut appropriately. I was a nursing student 30+ years ago in Los Angeles, CA., and when it came around for our first aid training and do a show and tell for our emergency bags, teachers and classmates were impressed with the innovative and suggested ideas that I had put together. Thank you for your chanel and helping other people out. God bless. M
@@Michelle-ro8dk I always keep a 1/2 dozen or so Tampax in my first aid kit. some in my fire lighting kit as well.
We used cut up non scented tampons for nose bleeds for the wrestling team.
I made a huge pile of reusable organic flannel pads and tampons. They clean really well with cold water and oxyclean. And still have tons of uses. I plan to make enough for all the women in my family.
Old pill bottle. Put alcohol wipes ( NOT wet wipes) and strike anywhere matches inside. If the wipes dry out, you have a piece of dry cotton to use.
Looks to me that the alcohol wipes would ruin the matches unless you carry them in separate bottles.
@@lewis9888 don't take them out of the package. Keep individual but don't unwrap

Pine needles work well as fire starter.
TSA wants to keep you from bringing anything that could save your life.
Well, to be fair to the TSA,.....
Read the rules and find useful stuff that works within their rules! I know this obvious, but most just complain about it and don’t do the research!
I would recommend keeping a small magnifying sheet in the mini SAS book. The print is tiny.
As I've got older I've noticed how small print is now.
A small fresnel lens is perfect.
@@christophermitchell7925 I'll try that, because it is getting to be a big problem.
Magnifying glass is a good idea anyway.
It can also aid in lighting a fire...
Prepper granny with raised in the military, Critical Care and ER nurse. I recently read a preppers advice to have a chest tube available for chest trauma. I am a traumanurse, certed in peds and adults. Chest tube? Unless you pack a stokes basket( unlikely) or have the time to make a stretcher. This person wont walk out. Sometimes you have to treat and keep moving.
Even needle decompression is unrealistic for most people
This was the BEST video, ANY prepping channel has made, IN A LONG LONG TIME. BEFORE this video, EVERY video for A LONG TIME, has been a rerun, basically/every prepping item list video, I've watched, for PROBABLY AT LEAST the last 2 years, included items that I already owned, this video actually had a few items I didn't already own, listed in it, we NEED more videos like this.
There was actually 9 items listed in this video, that I didn't have, two I planned on getting, and 7 I now plan on getting.
You might also get a couple of books that are out there. "Where there is no doctor" and " Where there is no dentist "...
Finally a prepper mentioned the Biolite campstove. It is awesome.
The type of video that makes you subscribe instantly. Greetings from Brazil!!
I have worn two pairs of thin socks for decades. Walked many thousands of miles. Never had a blister.
What kind? Wool? Cotton? Thanks. As a kid i didn’t have warm boots. I put a bread bag between to pairs of socks and my feet were perfectly warm for sledding and hiking even below zero.
You are lucky. If you want to press your luck, walk on the beach for 20 minutes just wearing socks. 😅
I don't wear two layers of socks but the only blister I've ever gotten was from not wearing socks with poorly fitting new shoes. Good fitting wet shoes without socks are fine.
Every car should have a road maps book.
Be able to navigate without road signs. No guarantee that they'll be there.
I use the motion alarms for garden security and to let me know when a car comes down my long driveway. They`re also good to let you know when an animal takes the bait when hunting/trapping. Mine have volume control and can be used with small power stations if camping.
Funny how many people think that when trouble comes they are going to start hiking and living off the land. Y'all ain't got a clue what's coming, and y'all ain't going to live off the land.
YES! I have always laughed at the "Bug Outers". Where exactly are you bugging out to? Someone else's land? You don't think they will be violently defending what's their and know every inch of their property? Yes, there is public land...and how many other people will you be vying to contend with with no shelter or food except what you carried in? In a city? I understand...but you have better purchased your own land to bug out to. For what it's worth.
When the non prepper's come for you, you will wish you had bugged out. And it just won't be once but repeatedly. As the feral beasts they will become, if they can't overcome you they will burn you out and hope to find a few supplies the fire did not destroy. Getting something is better than giving up and getting nothing. Many cities will not have enough water to supply their populace and you will need more than you can store up. So what will you do when you don't have any water? Bug out or die of thirst.
I agree that planning on bugging out with out a well laid out plan, caches, etc. is a as much as a fools errand, as bugging in, in a city. You will not survive living only off the land, which is where the caches come in.
@@76hotdog We create such scenarios as the one you describe, usually from movies we have seen. Red Dawn for instance is an oldie but goodie, but the reality of such an event happening in today's modern world is simply fantasy. And all we have to do is look to the event taking place in the Middle East. Or take Joplin Mo getting leveled in 2011. Guarantee Joplin was full of folks prepared for many things including a tornado and in one storm it can all be swept away.
We can never predict our future, especially the future to come that will be unlike any change we have seen. And it will be done willingly!
@@WORDversesWORLD Only time will tell.
But there are 2 types of prepping: for Natural disasters or SHTF, (which includes wars).
Somewhere in Europe a war breaks out about every 60 years or less. Some turn into major conflicts like WW1 and WW2.
In many other places in the world, this is a fairly common occurrence. Look at Syria, Ukraine, Gaza, etc. Thinking it will never happen here is just sticking your head in the sand. Russia has been threatening to Nuke NATO countries( including the US), which would create an SHTF scenario, in the nuked areas. Time to get Real, the threat of SHTF exists.
@@76hotdog If your not already coming out of the current system, your already behind. Game is up, time is now!
The SAS survival guide I had when I was 12. It’s great fun.
Make sure you have a manual can opener. I have a woodstove, manual well pump, a wonderful well, a wood fired cob oven, a garden, 6 months worth canned goods, four oil lamps, candles, EMT bag(I am a firefighter/EMT), fire extinguisher, and many other things. I plan on staying in my home not leaving. I have fishing and hunting gear.
In 2000 there was a catastrophic ice storm. I enjoyed it. It was very quiet. We had no electricity for 38 days. I have lived through two direct hit tornadoes and two catastrophic floods. I have lost everything I owned twice. The thing is we survived without all of the survival gear that everyone says you have to have. And there wasn't any looting because where we live everyone knows that everyone has a gun and if you don't want to be shot then you don't do it. I live in the Ouachita mountains of Southwest Arkansas.
You’re going to need more than 6 months-more like 2-4 years-famine is coming.
The Swing-A-Way brand can opener will be your best choice. Accept no substitutes.
I actually had 7 of these. The rest I can't afford being on soc security. Great video and info. Thanks
I live on 457/mo. SS. I have most of these preps. Watch the pennies and the dollars will watch themselves.

Thank you for these recommendations... and, yes, I am more than happy to use your link (which I did) to support all that you do.
We have 11 of these. So much more needed
You may very well have 11 of these? But I have 23 of those. And...several of them. But...admittedly I need to get more of..the other things.
I have 11 … agree. Need more!
I dont have none of this. I cant afford them. Im 70 yrs almost 71 i do have duct tape. I dont have anyone to help me my husband passed 2 yrs ago an i cant do things lifting pulling sooo hip an knee replacement so here i go. You do have wonderful things for prepping. You go buddy wish i could..
When you go to your doctor (especially podiatrist) ask if you could have some moleskin.
I hear you, I'm 65 and in the same predicament. I'm sure there are others like us around, too. There has to be some way of getting together to help one another in such situations. Does anyone have any ideas? My kids are grown, so it's pretty much just me. Prayer is the best thing I have, for real! 🙏 🇺🇸 ❤️
@ginabass4912 Question; what part of the US are you in ? ( just a general idea) not to get specific. I am married and have some things. We all need a way to help one another. BTW I am almost 71.
Im in the country n hav septic. So i got 12 of the items. I got squeese and crank flashlites
Also hav 2 fireplace camp tent hot stoves that can also be cooked on.
Have 22 of the 24. Multiples of most items.
Same!
I have 20 of the 24, but I have an alternative to the stove.
On the Colorado Trail (500 miles) we used duct tape strips to cover a blister after letting fluid out the side with a sterilized pin. Much thinner than moleskin and stays in position. Others we met on the trail including an Emergency Dr. did the same. Works.
Thanks for tips in sewer pump I definitely need that on my list 👍🤗🙏💖🇬🇧
I always go a little crazy on small but necessary items . I just gotten 10 temporary filling kits . I found a deal but they are only $30 on Amazon. Lemon extract is also a great thing to have. It will help kill the nerve . Last thing we all know painkillers are highly illegal to possess even in a proper situation . Kratom is a great alternative and legal. It all natural and relatively cheap and has the same exact effects as a opiate
Great list, thank you.
Cheap trade goods are a good idea to pack and most are nearly weightless. Even if you don't personally indulge, airline flight alcohol bottles, a couple of packs of smokes, batteries, single serving soaps and shampoo sourced from hotels, tampons...
Think about what other people might need and chances are the barter system can work in your favor. Most everyone will have some of their bases covered but there will always be people without. Hell. There are people without right now. Even something as mundane as a couple of extra Life Straws can wind up making you a deal for something you might really need or lack initially.
Flashlights in disasters are great. In shtf not so much. Makes you a target by letting everyone for miles know there is life there.
Going low power (sub 10 lumens) and red light with shade works fantastic (tested in few training scenarios my survival group did in past)
@@ApocGuyyes run low red lights at night
Also, as your budget allows, 100 % wool wool wool. Socks, underwear, shirts, you will not regret it.
So many great ideas, especially the mole skin. What about a water filter? If mentioned I may have been distracted. Thank you!
Thankyou very informative .
Well,I have 12 of them and will work on the rest!
We have 10. Lots of good suggestions. Been wanting a Geiger counter, but now you convinced me. Also dental tools very good.
Thank you, GP.
Moleskin is out of favor with the backpackers. Everyone is now using leukotape. Also the life tent has been an utter failure on the reviews I’ve seen.
I like the sewer plug idea. You know, for when SHTF.
Of the list though.......... well, I have duct tape.
Thankfully on septic.
13th month of prepping on limited income. Have 12 items on the list. Some are just out of my budget.
You know, I have spent SO MUCH...I mean, I...would have spent...so much...if I prepped. But that is for dummyheads...YOU HEAR THAT, FEMA?! NO PREPPIN' HERE! I THINK...I think that house down there...yeah, he was always blabbin' about "SHTF this" and "end of times" that...yeah...I think he...you need to talk to him, Mr. FEMA guy...
I literally have nearly NONE of this !! I'm a horrible Prepper!!!!
I have duct tape. I might have a sewer plug in the garage somewhere.
But this is why you’re here! To learn. Don’t be so hard on yourself, you’ve got to start somewhere 😁
Hey Guy, really good job today thanks- hopper from Louisiana
Never tell others of your preps.
Having "stuff" can make you a victim.
Having "knowledge" will make you an asset.
Those YoYo Reels also can be used as trigger snares for small game. 👍
Still? I mean, I call it like I see it and...those things make for the crappiest of yo-yo's! I don't care HOW good you are...they don't work. There, I said it.
@@datroof2262 You are right. I have a bunch of those things and they are absolutely worthless!
Some Gorilla Tape to supplement duct tape is also a good addition. 5 min epoxy for repairs, and dont foget the little things, like a leather sewing kit, bag of various rubber bands, ect.
I've watched many of your videos, and this is my favorite!
something no one seems to mention are prescription meds. You should keep a 30 day supply of each of your meds stashed away. Tell you Dr. what you are doing and (s)he should hep you. Mine did.
No, didn't know about the sewer blocker, plumbing is a weak knowledge point for me but I did get a huge book on the subject. The small Survival Guide, it is part of a series of small books called Collins Gems, they do sell them in the US, there's an American publisher listed at the front of the books. There are books on foraging, knot tying, trees, mushrooms, coastal plants, knots, even other non prepper activities like card games, the stars, birds, languages. I learned a lot of my early plant/mushroom identification from these books because you will take it with you hiking, whatever. You have them for if the internet goes down and they are fairly inexpensive.
A funnel with coffee filters helps as all you have to do after that is boil the water. The amount of water storage I have has to be seen to be believed, I work on 6 jerry cans per person.
Can you do a video on item 6. I want to learn more about how to use this and issue with sewage back up. Thank you
Yes, I agree. I have a septic so it doesn’t apply to me. But alllllll of my family lives in city and this will be an issue.
Love MIgardener!!! Get my seeds from them too. His channel is fantastic for learning about gardening.
TSA took one of my tactical pens because the end was too sharp. The other one, however, needed to be opened to expose the sharp end, and that one went through (different plane trips).
And the illegals pour across the border as you are getting your pen confiscated
Thanks for all of the information and different ideas. This was AWESOME!
“I love my geiger meter, I have radioactive sources I test it with all the time…” *gets raided by the FBI* LOL
We used mole skin for our bows to keep things quiet. I keep the lid on my sewer pipe loose. If there is a backup it simple pops off.
Super glu was developed to replace suturing. Unfortunately the oils in the body cause it to lose adhesion rapidly.
Great video
Wow, excellent list of pepper items! They appear to be more for the pepper who is planning for bugging out at some point. I plan on bugging in but I also realize that the circumstances may change and bugging in is no longer an option. I only have 8 out of the 25 items you suggested. I will reconsider some items and decide what to supplement my stockpile.
thanks
Hamradio / Walkie talkie will explode
Twenty two THOUSAND DOLLARS 😢just to croak no matter what😢besides how MANY bugout bags can you physically carry?
Cheek filter respirators such as the M17 gas mask aren't recommended. You can't change the filter while you're wearing the mask and the filters don't last as long. If you're going to buy a milsurp respirator, I recommend the M40 or the MCU-2/P. They are inexpensive compared to the latest in respirator technology but still are modern enough to get the job done. Cheek filter masks aren't really produced anymore and the filters aren't either. The M40 uses 40mm filters that are still being made to this day
We have 21. Never thought of a Geiger Counter, but I will research one now!

The Yo Yo fishing reel is spring loaded to set the hook when a fish takes the bait. It's not going to reel in a fish big enough to eat. Linb Lines, Bank line, trot lines . do those. Learn how to do those.
I haven't seen moleskin in decades! My husband always had some in his kit when he was in the Army. I didn't know it was still available. Will certainly be looking for some to buy.

If you do not have a wood stove then do not bother prepping... K... Also Northern AZ here and guess what? We don't bug out for there is nowhere to bug out to... You are not building a fire... And short of having a full tank of gas there won't be any... The bug out thing is for fantasy land campers who have never been out in the wilderness longer than 4 days!! Sorry!!!
😂
You have a valid point. I have an elderly mother so the bugging out into the woods option is not going to work for me. I'm going to use the advice in this video for a scenario where I might break down in the middle of no where and might have to spend a night in the car. I plan on buying some of the things mentioned in this video to have available in my car.
Yes, practical things for making your home work without electricity are far better. We had gigantic Summer bushfires here 5 years ago that made day like night for 6 days, and lasted for 3 weeks. All the stores closed for 3 days at the worst of it for breathing health, everyone was instructed to stay inside as much as possible, some power loss due to lines being burned, the tap water tasted of ash, all home fires and bbqs not allowed to be lit. The safest place was at home and prepared with enough doesn't-need-cooking food and water. Not "bugging out" to be burned in the forest
Those reels are called yo-yo's and we usually put them out 20-50 at a time.
I just got the most important thing yesterday, my newest projectile launcher.
I didn't know you could get tactical gloves. I haven't started on the security issues yet 👍🤗🇬🇧
Bug out bags? 🤣. Where ya gonna go ?
Wherever you planned for when researching locations. Ive scouted several wilderness areas over the years, just in case
Many families have made plans for adult kids with their children to meet at a prearranged spot. Could be their hunting cabin, or a parent with property, etc. Have given each adult a BOB in case it's needed.
@@DianeBianchi_MnWx 99% of people don’t have what you have . I agree w that but for most they think they just gonna big out and live in the woods or off their stuff in their bags . Unless one has a pre planned place to go bugging out is the stupidest idea . So many think they just “bug out” and live . I laugh at those folks .
Safest place is at home, unless it's something like a tsunami, giant earthquake, volcanic erruption, avalanche, huge flood or a wild fire at your back door. Many people who die in floods, storms etc are the idiots who left a perfectly safe home to drive through flood waters and drown, or hike up a hill "to safety" in a storm and got caught in a mudslide.
@@katv1195 even then you don’t need a BOB you can go to a hotel or family and friends .

I have that dental kit. Made in China. Spend more and get a better one with better steel. These bend like they are made from rubber.
I found moleskin new in the box at a garage sale. I had it forever, but started using it after I heard you talking about it. It really is amazing stuff!
Mira is great. We have the C7Ms with smoke filters as we live in the woods. Have Geiger counter as well from them. We have everything on the list. Not the same brands as Eric but that’s ok.
If you are disabled in some way, or elderly, learn a skill for a SHTF situation. For older people, skills are valuable. Learn how to knit, sew, crochet, make and build tools, sharpen tools. Drying or canning food. Starting and maintaining fires, skinning and dressing game. Every skill you know will help get you by, or get you accepted into a group of like-minded people. The younger people will be needed for hunting, building, protecting your group, they will have no time to sit down and make a hat or a pair of socks or a warm sweater for winter, or keep tools in working order, or tending chickens or gardens. Knitted items are great for trade, as well as simple tools that can be constructed. You should be stockpiling yarn along with everything else. Yarn has many other uses, as well. Pick it up wherever you see it on sale, also look into a spindle and combs for carding and spinning your own yarn.
Just because you have some physical limitations does not mean you will be SOL in a SHTF scenario.
Look for yarn with the highest wool content. 100% wool will keep you warm and dry, acrylic will not, and it is made from plastic which will melt. Wool will smolder. Which goes also for clothing and blankets as well.
@@DianeBianchi_MnWx You can also find cotton wool blends, which are excellent for summer wear. I know acrylic does have that fire limitation, but you can still use it in some capacities, like making carry bags or other things you need, but don’t want to waste your good wool on. Also, it can be good yarn to practice knitting with, when you are teaching someone, or trying out a pattern you are unsure of.
Great gloves. I got mine from 221B Tactical
Thank you.
Well done... I've gotten a few things from Luke at MIgardener.. Keep all my seeds that I use in air/water tight ammo cans.
Don't waste your money on a bio light the battery does not last more than a few years when you go to pull it out and when you need it it won't work trust me. And yes they have a battery it operates the fan which it needs to get the temperature hot enough to produce electricity and the switch to turn it on doesn't work unless the battery at least has some charge so you can't get more than a few years out of this
Thank you for a great tips.
