Your Penguin looks great with my coordination that big straining that closer to my hand would make me a little uneasy, but you handled it well and did a great job

I am always reminded of those bits flailing around. Usually with a bruised hand or a welt or two.
This penguin is definitely different from the others I have seen. I like the nicer upscale look to this one. Although I think the head looks more like a Loon than a penguin. Regardless, a beautiful and unique penguin, well done Andy…

Haha.. yes... I kept trying to sand the top of the head until my knuckles got trapped by the beak...
We don't get Loon's over here but I have watched "on golden pond" so I know what they look like...
And yes probably more like a Loon than a Penguin...

Elegant indeed! That was very clever, adding bits to make up the beak. I can see that being a very quick seller at a market, but a great deal of work to get it there. Very nicely done!! Cheers, Rick

When I saw Carl's Penguin I assumed that it was two woods and was disappointed when he painted it...
So I just had to do it with the two different woods...

If instead of wenge there was ebony wouldn't it be a more realistic color contrast? Of course I don't know if ebony can be turned on a lathe without cracking.
