alex and i talked about this so much how we didnt want to be surrounded by the big city, i lived on vancouver island... she was designing this space so even trying to find a space that suited both our tastes in canggu that involved not being enclosed. its hard to find spaces these days that incorporate nature but its not impossible🫶

Thank you! The countertops are actually made from reclaimed wood sourced from an old ship, giving them a unique and rustic look. And the floor is made of concrete with a beautiful white creme texture, adding a modern and sleek touch to the design. It's a stunning combination of materials that adds character and charm to the space. Love the creativity and attention to detail in this design!
Thanks for the compliment! The base of the retaining walls are almost 1 meter wide, then they gradually taper towards the top. The retaining walls and foundation are the most important parts of the house (structurally) so we made sure they were really done right.

haha! We are very fortunate that we don't get too many bugs. Before building I remember there were many, many mosquitos around the land, but since building there are very few (considering, as you said, we are in the tropics)...We also keep the house very clean and tidy (what you see in the video is pretty much how it looks most of the time! I designed it so there is plenty of storage in the house so we don't keep many things out in the open for bugs and other things to hide or collect. Overall, I think we are just lucky though!

Good question! There's always going to be bugs in Bali, but we are pleasantly surprised that we don't have any annoying bug or mosquito issues at the house, other than the expected occasional amount.

That’s what I was thinking too because we are so close to the river and little water falls! But to our surprise we haven’t noticed them at all, we think it’s because we are quite high above the water that they linger closer to the water sources. Planting the lemon grass also plays a role.

What about mosquitos
That’s what I was thinking too because we are so close to the river and little water falls! But to our surprise we haven’t noticed them at all, we think it’s because we are quite high above the water that they linger closer to the water sources. Planting the lemon grass also plays a role.
