Jason, I believe your experience is bouyed by being able to speak Spanish. A non-Spanish speaker would have considerable more risk.
Boyle Heights, South Central, not even downtown are as clean or hospitable.
Everyone was willing to be on camera and understand it’s opportunity to advertise. I love it. Que Viva Mexico
@@stephanlaffargue Still doesn’t change the fact that the guy with the dentist office knew the assignment and was like hey it’s for promotion and took advantage of camera man being there. That’s what everyone out here should be doing. Is pointing in the window obviously bothersome to people yes, but half the time he is asked in a rude way so he responds with the same attitude. As he always says “you get what you give”.
PLUS HE IS IN MEXICO!! Different laws, different rights, different country, and he didn’t want to be sent to jail or captured by any gangs for recording.
Wow what a great video! I would never have seen Mexico up close and personal like this, everyone is so friendly! Speaking the language makes the visit so personal! Nobody yelling: "don't take my picture"! Thank you for bringing us along on your trip!
There was a woman tourist White that did say don’t record me😂😂 @4:25
@raulmendoza8607 We tend to be entitled brats that think we're more important than everyone else. It's sickening.
I spent 2 weeks in Mexico a couple years ago and I still regularly wonder why I came back to the states
Spent last Christmas in Monterrey. My nieces son drove us from Reynosa to Monterrey. Beautiful city - clean streets and friendly people. Took 2 hours to cross back into the U.S. so the border is not wide open everywhere 😊
I love how you capture so many smiles with your positive energy.
Loved it!!
Great work!!!

Thank you for visiting my country
Saludos mi Amigo amagansett press
Thanks for making this video to show how people truly are in Mexico. I've been following you since that Yard Sale sign when cops gave you a hard time in your town, and you put their ass on check. The attitude of standing up for yourself is what I liked. I'm glad you continued your recording journey.
He showed how the people were in that border town. It would be foolish to believe the experience that we saw in this border town is indicative of other regions of the country.
I traveled the world for almost 5 years in Europe, Eastern Europe, North Africa along the Mediterranean and a half dozen or so various countries along the coast of Africa. Most of South America with the exception of Chile, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana.
Just over 100 countries in my lifetime with the majority in that close to 5 year nearly continuous journey. My wife is Romanian and I had a few military buddies stationed in various countries and we had some extended stays in a few locations.
Was robbed a couple times, and nearly picked up pocketed numerous times by Roma Gypsies but my wife could usually cause them to leave us alone immediately by just speaking to them in Romanian letting them know she knew the drill.
After nearly getting stabbed to death in Senegal after a cab driver started taking the wrong route for our destination. We had been there several days so luckily we were able to see what was happening and get out at the next stop sign. He became very angry even though we paid him more than the entire trip would have cost. We started walking and he drove along side us screaming and hollering at us. It was a very crowded pedestrian area so as we went along a larger and larger crowd was following us and eventually was surrounded by people screaming and people who decided to start collecting rocks. Some of the people had gardening equipment that had blades and shovels. I truly believed that if just one person decided to get physical it would be the end of us both. But a fairly nice large Mercedes Benz pulled onto the side walk and just pushed his way forward and told us to get in. Such a lucky break.
After that in countries that were we felt may be a problem we would hire a guide/security guy who was usually just someone who was trying to get customers into an establishment to spend money. It was helpful in all sorts of ways, cheaper prices, in some countries where the bargaining process was so difficult and aggressive that it let the guide do it all because I just wouldn’t even consider buying the junk they are peddling if I had to deal with the drama.
Anyways I rambled a lot. My point was that the fact that you may be currently surrounded by friendly amazing people and everyone seems super. Has no bearing whatsoever on what is happening one street over, or in the next town. I’ve not been to New Orleans in a long time but I had someone gift me Saints season tickets for a few years and at that time you ventured more than a block or two west of Bourbon street and it was not even remotely safe in my opinion.
Cheers!
It's incredible how friendly everyone was, such a stark contrast to what you see in the US almost everywhere. Nobody was a Karen, nobody got upset, they were welcoming and gracious. People in the US could learn so much from this.
These people in these shlth0Ie border towns in Mexico survive by tourist dollars of course they are going to ham it up for the red-headed gringo with the camera equipment.
In Mexico it I usually the police who don't like to be filmed.
it's the facade of it. There is way too much crime and corruption there. The people you see smiling would kill you faster than 2 shakes of a rat tail. And don't get any cosmetic surgeries there.. Meningitis is in full effect in that town. I lost 4 friends to it just recently.
And the cartels. holy shit you wouldn't believe. They are always watching you while visiting
the US should NOT learn anything from Mexico. AT ALL. you saying that made me cringe. I've lived across the border from that place. NOTHING good comes from it. NOT EVEN THE TACOS. You're more than likely eating Dog or Cat, possibly rat.
Do NOT glorify the visit.
So the US should have a Cartel or Cartels run the country? Get out of here.
they are not being friendly, they want to sell you something and get your money.
Thanks for showing us Mexican scenes we would never see on the news. It changed my perspective.
You should stop watching the news dude, its all bullshxt

Just a short distance and the world is so different. The attitude to life is like every poor country I’ve been in the world. Chilled. Friendly . Taking pleasure from the smallest things. It’s when I wish I’d studied harder to learn languages. To be as fluent must be such a joy.
Never too late to learn

So why do millions of people risk their lives to get out?
@@policeping not all of the immigrants coming across are Mexican natives. In fact most are refugees from central and and South American countries that are even worse off than Mexico. As well as other countries like china and Russia and many many more.
@@policeping ppl do the same here but they go legally. Alota ppl are leaving
@@policepingIn the case of Mexicans leaving...many are men looking to work, make money, and then go back to Mexico. No doubt the standard of living is higher in the US, more opportunity, but more problems too. Many coming over the border are from South American countries where things are much worse.
I went to Canada once to a comedy show. When crossing into Canada it was a warm welcome they were so happy to greet people. Coming back into America they tore my car apart, accused me of smuggling drugs, were rude as hell, then left my car pretty much destroyed when they didn't find anything and looked like idiots. It was unreal how disrespectful the American border workers were to an American citizen. I had never as much even gotten a traffic ticket in my life either.
Same here recently crossing back on foot, customs accused me of smuggling drugs and detained me for an hour, of course they found nothing.
Cheers from Ontario, Canada.
Back the Blue until it happens to you!
The American border workers were so rude to us (UK citizens), when travelling from Windsor to Detroit.
I had rented a car in Toronto, to be returned to Chicago. Despite having all the necessary documents (for ourselves and the vehicle), they grilled us for two hours, insisting that Canadian rental facilities do not supply vehicles with US tags.

The differences are stark. I would have never guessed
First thing I noticed as well.
Yes. Americans are some of thee most PARANOID people on the PLANET right now. ever since 9-11 they want to pass laws that allow government to spy on us...yet terrorism is not stopped by that. They collect info on u so they can prosecute you one day if they deem you a threat to their tyranny.
Also the people from the previous video we're right across the bridge on the way back to the US lol
Cause he likes to sit and antagonize people he knows the law ain’t gonna save him in Mexico so he isn’t acting like a d*ckhead hope the cartel gets ahold of him
Whoa, this is a treat. I'm always down for more Mexico vids.
The difference in how the businesses in Mexico invite you to look around, compared to the ones in the US that come out and tell you to leave is striking.
The difference is he wasn’t camped in front of the businesses, he was moving, quickly, down the sidewalk. He was polite to everyone, friendly and acting the total opposite of how he truly is. Mexico’s jails do nit appeal to him.
@@angelforanimals7809 Im sure he would do the same if he was familiar with the laws in Mexico but im sure he rather play it safe especially if hes with his son and theyre in another country, different laws, different system, different legal system. I was AMAZED at how friendly everyone was. Good people.
When everyone in society isn't on social media all the time and totally indoctrinated with nonsense then you can have a nice friendly functioning society.
why did you think mexicans were unfriendly?
It's pretty common. Americans have this stupid idea that people are ruff around the edges. It's never been like that. Coming from someone who travels there plenty of times. It's all the American BS propaganda they have always portrayed. I really feel Americans are jealous of how people are there because in the USA, everyone is stupid with their guard up and rude.

This video was really cool. You should do a whole series of MExico videos i think theyd be wildly popular and dispel many myths!
I bet you’d wish that. The truth lies in the border and lack of security. The people may not be all that bad but it’s not our problem to deal with millions of undocumented illegal aliens… thats not what our founding fathers set fourth for the foundation/principles of this country. Not sure what you intended by your comment but no one should be interested in altering myths or perceptions of that particular area/people… and more so securing our borders that are being infringed on daily…
I have always REALLY enjoyed how its very normal to say good day to everyone on the street and have it be the most cordial and friendly conversation ever
as someone who grew up in mexico and came to the USA at 15 i can tell you that the most shocking part about the US how closed up people were when trying to approach them.
AS a teen i talked to tons of stranger girl and guys and made friends from people i did not even know and even a girlfriend or two . people in Mexico are very approachable , in contrast if you walk up to a girl to introduce yourself they usually put their guard up and some are even outright mean. One time I said "good morning to a gal" and she said " don't talk to me , I do not know you " yeah MExico has a lot friendlier people that is for sure.
Right? You do that over here in the States and not everyone acknowledges. They pretend like they didn't hear you.

@@pgnandt Using the border as political maneuvering. There is no crises or open border. It's been running pretty much the same as it has for decades. @@amandaburleson2035were you awake when they did the extraction or they put you to sleep?
I got a wisdom tooth taking out in Tijuana because I didn't have dental insurance (thanks America) and it went very well.
These guys want to portray their businesses in a positive light and I really respect that.
Now I understand why so many Americans are fleeing to Mexico; beautiful, friendly people and it’s affordable.
I’m a long time watcher first time commenter, I gotta say this is my favorite thing about you, when you speak Spanish. I remember the first time I learned you were Cuban and when you spoke Spanish I was really impressed. I’m second generation, both of my parents crossed the border and later became U.S. Citizens. Growing up I shied away from my Mexican side and embraced my American side the most as I grow older I realize that was a mistake I should have embraced my culture and cherished it, I can speak decent Spanish and hold somewhat of a conversation but I wish I was fluent and I wish I could write it too. I can’t turn back time but I can at least I can try and make some up. I hope to meet you out in the wild some day and if I do we’re having a conversation in Spanish.
So you are an ungrateful anchor baby? Go back if you hate it here
every first born immigrant generation does the same as you from every country. its the following generations that digs more into their roots.
I really want to thank you guys for showing us this video. You two need to be on national television. 👍
It is so chill in Mexico! I love it. In many ways it even feels more free than the USA! Great video! ❤

I appreciate you both, I watch both of you from Australia. It's so good to see father and son educating the masses. While I'm writing this, a quick time and temperature check, it's 34c, it's a little overcast and I'm here with the wife watching the watchmen! Respect, all the way from Australia!
Excellent report.
I went to Mexico frequently in the 80s.
The food
The people
The shopping
The horses
The scenery
Good stuff.
So many memories
❤
As I wait for knee surgery I am now thinking of a road trip South. Thank you so much for this video. It has really persuaded me to not be afraid to cross the border on my own.

People in Mexico way friendlier than people in the U.S.
Yea until they kidnap your kids and enslave people to run drugs and smuggle humans. Yes they are so friendly.
