      I am not exactly surprised he wasn't able to produce an heir.

    I love the videos where you dig into the lesser known people like Jobst. Super famous in his own country in sure, but id never heard of him before.

      They are a lot harder to do, at least accurately, because there are far fewer sources that give information, but they are rewarding.

    Well actually its probably more like a collage material never heard of him in elementary or high school being from Moravia. But i immedeatly recognised the name because here in Brno (the city u showed at the begining) is street called Joštova in the center

    Were those really portraits of his wives???

    • @rennor3498
      @rennor3498 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I believe the portraits were made after the death of said wives, since oil painting technique was not quite refined or in specialised practice at the time. But nontheless the paintings are based on accounts describing their phisionomy, so presumably they weren't very beautiful.

    9:20....ummm those wives though!

    • @ParryThis

      This guy could pick them. In the spirit of full disclosure, there are no available renderings of his wives that i was able to find, so i chose some not particularly flattering paintings styled after the period art style just for visual representation.

      Yeah, sometimes it's difficult to get the pictures right. It is the most common mistake i make while making these videos.
