The B-17 was an amazing plane. My dad flew 35 missions to Germany and back machine gunner and radio operator. He was a member of the lucky bastards club. That is one beautiful model rest in peace dad I miss you.
Mine did 33 missions -went through several planes. With the 303 RD and maybe with 305th .Seldom talked about it. Found some odd metal in our garage -I'm about 12, and asked dad what was this ? " Flack" . Took many years to understand and still don't know the full hell he went through .
Proof a superior design will fly best. Boeing's nearly perfect bomber often made it home when lesser aircraft couldn't. What a beautiful flight! At scale, the gusty winds were near hurricane strength to the model.
BEAUTIFUL!!! I sure wouldn't want to be the machine gunner in that glass cage under the pilot! That took a lot of guts to do what those guys did during WWII!!! Nice flying by the way! My late cousin loved RC planes and was a club member here on Cape Cod. He built and flew for many years.
@@rolacook222 My best hobby with me for number of years, till today still keeping my favorite Spit Fire, too bad no more ground for the fun in our country SG...
My Dad and I used to fly RC planes. He had a cadet that he put floats on and we would fly it on Lake Harding on the Chattahoochee. A friend of mine had a ducted fan F-16 and I was at the time, a F-16 crewchief in the USAF. Was so much fun
Beautiful, excellent, that was great to watch even with the strong winds. Congratulations on a fine flight. May you have many more as you fly that beautiful B-17. From the USA
Superb, congratulations to the film maker and to the builder of the B17,the views of the B17 against those lovely clouds were just like the real thing. Having followed the progress of "our B17 Sally B" I since she first flew all those years ago the model looked so real and what a super landing ,well done.
Awesome 👌 my FATHER FLEW 61 missions in 5th Air Force out New Guinea in Pacific , he switched back in forth between waist & tail gunner he's credited 1kill Zero
We had a real one come to our airport here in Burlington NC. The 909 I believe. It looks so huge from the outside but once you got in it there wasn't any wasted space. You could imagine the bombs in that thing. Man it was awesome. Then you think about the crew and pilots. Hell they were kids really. The old guys ,the pilots probably weren't more than 24 or so. You know, the old guys. With the crew being teenagers really. We owe a lot to them. The greatest generation? You damn right they were!
NICE!! Job!! I always use to say wind most of the time Is your FRIEND👍🏼🚀🏁 with Take off and landing and most fun is that Down wind rush of MPH 😎, Wind makes you a way better Pilot as well, thank You For Sharing and again great Job 👏💙👏
Oh Wow BEAUTIFUL ITS too bad Boeing never built REMOTE CONTROL B-17 BOMBERS DURING WW2,?? HOPE HOLLYWOOD SEES YOUR BEAUTIFUL PLANES AND ASKS YOU TO USE IT IN A MOVIE..HOW EXCITING 😊😊😊MANY GOD PRAYERS 😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a gusty day! I do love the sound of petrol engines, on an RC aircraft. I dislike electric with a passion. Real jet turbines are very cool as well! Man, he pulled a Greaser, when he landed! Well done!
The farm across my flying field had a wind indicator. If the roof got blown off the the chicken coop fly with caution if it flew off the barn come back tomorrow.
Chances are the B-17 was built in Omaha, NE. At the Martin Bomber Factor, home to hundreds of “Rosy the riveter”. Yet orders for the B-29 in 1944 for the 509th Superfortrisses were built including the “Enola Gay” the Pilot Paul Tibbets picked out personally. Also the B-29 “Bockscar” not Box Car, was built. I was a 9 year old in NE Kansas in the late 60’s in the middle of 80 acres of hay field picking up stray bales, when I heard this full roar getting louder! I looked around the in the West flying 8 wide in formation was hundreds of B29’s all with the bubble front, bottom gunner bubble flying magnetic East at 500 ft. I was dumb struck as I loved airplanes and I am looking at more than I can count. It to 30 minutes to pass while I am alone in a shaved field waving my white tee shirt. One by one, the outer plane in formation tilted their wings to acknowledge they saw me. I was “Awe Struck” complete with goose bumps. I was jumping, waving, running in circles to let them know I saw them wing tilt out of formation. I am sure they where tickled and radioed the guy behind them as 50 or more deep one after one dipped their wings to acknowledge they saw me. I was happy and made a point to salute each line! I am in my 60’s but this will be that memory I think of as I take my last breath! 😮
That was realistic, I droves of these types coming and going during WW 2, growing up in the midlands and having to move house regularly due to the air raids , I going on 87now, and still shiver when a wailing sirens sound, (PTS), 👍👁️🤠🕸️🐝 B R Hughes

If he didn't make it back, you weren't born
My wife's gandpa did 35 missions, part of the "Bloody Hundredth." Plane was named "Miss Chief."
As they say Landings are the most difficult. This landing was one of the best I have seen. Great.
Thank you
What a beauty of a model B-17!
Tack!

Wonderful airman ship, a kiss my hand hand landing in challenging conditions AND no bloody music!!!!!!!

How cool is that! I actually flew on the Nine-0-Nine twice as a passenger before it was unfortunately lost recently.
Outstanding flight and landing in strong winds.
Thank you

Just outstanding! I can appreciate the B-17. I was lucky to tour the inside of one. It was so cramped. Beautiful plane.
Wow: absolutely beautiful!

That landing was well done. KUDOS!!!

Landing is the most critical part for the hobby and not taking off, well done and thanks.... 😊
Great tribute to the 909 and the seven soles lost on October 2, 2019.
Souls is the number of living humans on board. I had to look it up just now.
Nicely flown!
Dude is a stud RC pilot!
Haha cheers 😂
Wow what an epic Bird, even with four engine, you could see the wind fighting her all the way, great pilot. Great footage Dom 👍🏻
That rc b17 is a really good r c airplane
I don’t fly but if I did I’d never fly that much money in that kind of wind!
Great flying video!😊
People raise their glass to my ship models, whether scratchbuilt or kit; but this is a unique build and superb performance. Congrats!

This is the coolest thing I have ever seen. Apart from that dude who build a miniature one that he can sit in and fly himself.

They were painted but a few weeks earlier I had a wheels up landing which broke the original props. These were new and they’re now painted👍

Built in 1990 from the Richard Rawle moulds that were used for the Memphis belle film.
TOO PERFECT!!!!!! Please don't break it!
fpv ball turret for a ride along would be sweet
Красивая модель, браво, а если бы ещё рули были более плавные, чтобы самолёт не так дёргался, то он выглядел бы в полёте как настоящий В-17.
That would look fabulous on a calmer day..

My dad was on a B-17, but then the wing got shot so much it came off the B-17 went and half the wing was torn off and he died 😭😭😭😭😭😭
