New Tweed Valley Enduro MTB Trail!

- Welcome back to the channel. The snow has gone and the Tweed Valley trails are beginning to become accessible again. In this edit I headed to Cademuir just outside of Peebles. It is one of my favourite places to ride trails in the Tweed Valley. It is often overlooked but is an amazing place to ride mountain bikes. Many riders are drawn to other places in the Tweed Valley, such as Glentress, Innerleithen, the Golfie, Thornielee and Yair. Despite having such excellent competition, Cademuir forest is still a great place to get a flavour for Scottish MTB trails. With new trails appearing all the time, it should definitely be on every rider's radar.
In this Scottish mountain biking vlog I set off to find a new trail in Cademuir. The trail is called Tom and Jerry. It is a really decent piece of single-track. A fair bit of pedalling is required at the top before it fires into some lovely steep and flowy berms.
For those of you that are new to the channel I am an MTB and enduro mountain bike vlogger. My aim is to tell the story of my visits to the best trails in Scotland and the best trails in the UK.
This mountain biking MTB / enduro POV video was shot on the 18th of February in the Tweed Valley. The video was shot on a GoPro Hero 7 mounted on the chin of a MET Parachute MCR helmet using a Gnartec mount. I also used some Hero 9 Max Lens footage from a chest harness.

Mountain bike rustiness is a pandemic at the moment Mate. Great riding though and the new trail looks good. I've been saying for a long time where i'm going to head for a ride so keep a day free to take me on a guided tour. 😉👍

Yes dude! Rode there last year for the first time, just before lockdown brought an end to life, and loved it. Totally different to other stuff in the T.V but great all the same.
We’d hoped to be back across the border at the end of March but that’s been postponed to the end of April.

Living in a good part of the country - North Yorkshire, smack ban in between the Dales, Moors and Hamsterley. Unfortunately that also means I haven't ridden any of them during the lockdown as it means driving to all of them. I've been stuck on the road bike for far too long. Roll on March 29th when the Fuel Ex and the Mega are going to getting hammered for a fortnight solid...Annual Leave wahoo. You live in such an amazing part of the country.

Just riding round the local woods here in Elgin, but hoping to get to Fort William with their new trail off the gondola this year and Glentress, with a summer trip to the Forest of Dean, Bikepark Wales and Coed-y-Brenin.
That sounds really good. Yeah, that Fort Bill trail is definitely on my to do list 👍

That blue at Fort Bill will be incredible. I rode a small section of it in the summer and I've never smiled so much in my life 😁😁😁
New trail looks nice but very wet to try and keep flow on. You did well with it.
Tried to get out to a local hill on Sunday but still a lot of snow over 275m. Managed to session some lower altitude singletrack instead but it was limited.
Looking forward to things thawing more and getting back out South Deeside to Ballater & Aboyne. Fingers crossed, restrictions will also be lifted enough for a trip to Torridon in May - hopefully the weather will be reasonable there too.

Thanks Simon. Yeah, I was trying my best in that top section but conditions combined with bike-rust were just too much. I went back there a few days later, took a load of air out the tyres and rode way better!

Had a few warm & wet days so hopefully the thaw should be well underway. Saw a friends photo of his attempted cycle at Aboyne on Sunday - up to his knees in snow!
Get yourself up to Torridon this year if you can - don’t know if you’ve been before but it’s wonderful, wild riding up there. Just your cuppa tea.

Over the course of this latest lockdown I’ve bought new bars, new brakes, new wheels and a new tyre and I have yet to try any of it ugh. Can’t wait to head to Hamsterley to give it all a go soon

I’m going to Windhill Bike Park near me and Tidworth (my closest - 5mins away). Defo Bike Park Wales, FOD and Flyup417 as also not a million miles away. Probably Rogate too

Yeah. I bought an Endura Singletrack Onesie for the really cold and or wet days.
The new helmet is good. I really like it. I've gotten pretty good at removing the chin which is what I was hoping for.

Thanks Andy! Yeah, it was so good to get out mate. I was feeling rusty but it got me back into things. Indeed, went out yesterday and was riding as well as I ever have. The camera on my chest is my Hero 9 which I'm using to get backup footage in winter. Most of the footage is still from the trusty old 7 which in my opinion still works really well. Do you rewatch your edits before you post them? Maybe turn the music down a bit. I’m either in a rave so o can hear what you are saying, or normal music volume and there’s a muffled voice.
Yeah. I spend a lot of time on the edits pulling them together and checking through them. It's about 4 - 8 hours per edit. If you can't hear me on the intros with the music then that isn't intended. However occasionally I'll put music over a bit of trail POV and intend for it to dominate. I've played around with a few different structures but adding music seems to make a big difference to audience retention. If you post the time where it happens I'll defo check it out for you 👍

Good luck. There does seem to be some good deals on them at the moment. I feel like the chin mechanism is one of the easiest out there. I got used to it pretty quickly 👍

Hey mate. TH-cam is just a hobby I'm afraid mate. It doesn't really pay any money. I use an editor called Filmora X. I don't use any filters. I just set the GoPro colour on and do a little bit of colour correction on the Hero 7 footage. I find the 9 Go Pro colour is relatively nice on its own 👍

The first month I was monetised I earned less than £10 🤣 You would need to be getting over 100k views per month to make any sort of money. I do have a media mod but I only have it as the normal audio on the 9 is so bad. I only use my 9 for backup and b-roll footage. All my main footage is captured on a Hero 7 👍

The channel is great bud. Looks like you are a bit of a natural with the vlogs.
TH-cam brings me in less than £100 per month. TBH I will never make money out with vlogs.
For big views you probably need a channel that has product reviews or how to videos. Vlogs won't ever generate massive views. It's really competitive now so you need to think about what will make you unique 👍
