Marcos was the longest-serving president of the Philippines..well, in 21 years I'm sure he could have done many things but he's not necessarily the best. The Philippines' 26 billion dollars debt does not make him the best. The best plunderer probably.

And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

@Charlie Murphy, I like Marcos he was a great president who did alot for us, during this time of crisis, if Marcos was in charge today we would have alot of military presense around and ready to help the people more than with any president after Marcos why? Because Marcos is an ex Philippine Army Soldier who fought the Japon during World War 2 and he knows how to keep the military fully equiped and trained to fight and win and help during Natural Disasters. But anyone who tries to tell you Marcos is bad, will then say during a typhoon or earthquake like the stupid media oh where is the govt. help they will just scream and scream but forget that it was Marcos who wants to rise the Military and make sure at any emergency that the country can help fight or help the PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINES ALL LOYALISTS FOR THE FLAG AND COUNTRY not those who demonstrate or rally against the Govt. especially Marcos's before !

OR EXPLAIN IMELDA'S MILLIONS OF DOLLARS SHOPPING SPREES WORLDWIDE WHEN THE AVERAGE FILIPINO IN THAT ERA LIVED WAY BELOW THE POVERTY LEVEL?

DICKTATOR FROM HELL - 940 plunder cases filed against the marcoses in international courts for over 30 years
      all failed . . . . meaning they are not guilty, meaning they are innocent . . . .
The Aquino's have the power but they failed to condemn this family. For over 30 years still Imelda Marcos is in her home . . . . never been in jail, because they are innocent. The marcoses were not beggars when they entered politics. FM is the greatest lawyer in his time. Top1 in the BAR EXAM. He is rich before they got married . . . .
Cory + Noynoy???? failed (The truth is in front of us)
      Marcos > Cory + FVR + EE + GMA + NNA!!!! Undeniable!!!!!!!

DICKTATOR FROM HELL - Imelda said that the only money they got while their assets were frozen while forced exiled in Hawaii, was the regular veteran pension of Marcos as a WW2 veteran soldier, and that's proof that Marcos fought in WW2...
*"In Philippine history, February 18, 1946, the US Congress enacted a law which rescinded benefits of Filipino WWII veterans"*
"The bill got its name from the insidious legislative rider attached to it which provided that "service in the Commonwealth Army of the Philippines should not be deemed to have been service in the military or naval forces of the United States."
"The U.S. Congress was not deterred by Truman's veto and passed virtually the same Rescission Act on Feb. 18, 1946. This time, however, to Osmena's chagrin, President Harry S. Truman signed it into law on Feb. 20, 1946."
Before signing the bill into law, President Truman took the opportunity to criticize it:
"In approving H.R. 5158, I wish to take exception to a legislative rider attached to the transfer of a $200,000,000 item for the pay of the Army of the Philippines. The effect of this rider is to bar Philippine Army veterans from all benefits under the G.I. Bill of Rights with the exception of disability and death benefits which are made payable on the basis of one peso for every dollar of eligible benefits. I realize, however, that certain practical difficulties exist in applying the G.I. Bill of Rights to the Philippines.
"However, the passage and approval of this legislation do not release the United States from its moral obligation to provide for the heroic Philippine veterans who sacrificed so much for the common cause during the war.
"Philippine Army veterans are nationals of the United States and will continue in that status until July 4, 1946. They fought, as American nationals, under the American flag, and under the direction of our military leaders. They fought with gallantry and courage under most difficult conditions during the recent conflict. Their officers were commissioned by us. Their official organization, the Army of the Philippine Commonwealth, was taken into the Armed forces of the United States by executive order of the President of the United States on July 26, 1941. That order has never been revoked or amended.
"I consider it a moral obligation of the United States to look after the welfare of Philippine Army veterans."
The Rescission Act of 1946 reduced the obligation of the U.S. government to take care of its war veterans who were Philippine citizens from a legal to a moral one, an obligation based on conscience rather than on law.
Some 62 years later, on April 24, 2008, Senator Daniel K. Inouye criticized the anti-Filipino discriminatory intent of the Rescission Act enacted by Congress in 1946. Inouye said:
"Congress took this action in spite of the fact that Filipino veterans in our armed forces rendered services that were identical to that rendered by other, non-Filipino soldiers who were American nationals or who held United States citizenship. Thus, the Filipino veterans that fought in the service of the United States during World War II are precluded from receiving most veterans' benefits which were available to them before 1946, and which are available to all other veterans of our armed forces regardless of race, national origin, or citizenship status."
But almost $200 million was eventually given to Filipino WW II veterans. It came almost 63 years later, on February 13, 2009, when President Barack Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 which included, ironically enough, a legislative rider providing $198 million to Filipino WW II veterans in the form of a tax-free $15,000 for each of the Filipino veterans who are US citizens and $9,000 for each of them who are non-US citizens.

Now we have lots of freedom but we're heading nowhere...I'd willingly give up some of my freedom if only to see the Philippines become great again, just as Marcos dreamed half a century ago...but alas, there can only be one Ferdinand Marcos...and history is written by the victors

    Ferdinand Marcos:
Helped pull the Philippines out of Communist hands
Built a strong country thanks to infrastructure
Was a dictator with an iron fist, which actually made the Philippines a notable country.
If the Marcos regime was to be blamed for anything, do not blame the man. Because behind each powerful man, is an equally powerful woman.

by rhe 80s sick man of asia na tayo.

LOL. This is just a party and nothing else. How does this "expose" the Marcoses in any way? Who doesn't have parties? Plus, this is the 80s for crying out loud. People had parties like this all the time.
    Geez, such a manipulative report.

@Charlie Murphy, So Marcos was your Boss before he took care of your mother and father. That is good he put food and water on your plate on your table. That is the sign and power of the Marcos govt. also keeping electricity, power, rice, food and transportation cost down and low for the ppl, thanks be to God and to the Highest the Marcos shall come back to power once again !!

@ameredon I think this is pointless to defend Marcos because there's just no point. Let everyone have their own opinion. We have already passed those times and now we should look to the future of the country. If you have your opinion then fine but don't explain how Marcos was so great. Bear in mind, there are many people who were affected by Marcos tyrannical rule, maybe you like him because you weren't so inflicted by the catastrophe.

PRESIDENT FERDINAND MARCOS AND FIRST LADY IMELDA MARCOS TANDEM WAS THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE PHILIPPINES. The Heart Center, Lung Center, Kidney Center, upgrade of PGH, Cultural Center,Film Center, San Juanico Bridge, Bataan Power Plant (that cory stopped) could have been very beneficial to the Filipinos, revival of Luneta and Intramuros, North & South Luzon Expressway, etc...etc...No other president in the history of our country had done these things for the Filipinos.
