  • Chinese troops have been deployed on the streets of Hong Kong - not to crush the anti-government protests but to help clean up the damage after last night's unrest.
    (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
More clashes broke out this evening after a relatively calm day - as police fired tear gas at people throwing petrol bombs from a university roof, setting debris on the road alight. From Hong Kong - Matt Frei reports.

I have always supported protests and freedom of speech in Hong Kong, despite the fact it has largely enjoyed this until now, and i have no love for the CCP, but persistent use of violence and vandalism would turn anyone against them. And the outright and avid support and encouragement by western media with a clear corporate and pro-US agenda is disgraceful. I live in a country where violence and disruption of this kind would never be tolerated and would be met by a similar police reaction if not worst. The protestors are not able to walk a very sensitive line between protesting against CCP encroachment and safeguarding what they have enjoyed in the last two decades. They instead want this utopian fantasy of revolution and are driven partly by a western audience who do not live in Hong Kong and ignorant of international politics.

Billy Y ... Just because BBC, CNN and Fox News suck and are biased, it doesn't mean ALL "western" media have the same view. Even in the UK and US, not all media take the same view as CNN and BBC ... You even said that yourself after watching this Channel 4 report. And that's forgetting all the other media outlets in the western world. The "west" generally means North America and Europe, so that's a lot of countries. How about media from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Denmark, Ireland, Greece, Austria, Luxembourg, Czech Republic etc? ... They are all countries in the western world, and there are hundreds of media outlets in those countries. You'd have to have watched media reports from ALL "western" countries to be 100% sure that the "western media" can be generalised as biased or not showing both sides of the story. Just because the US and UK report in a certain way, it does not mean the entire western world takes the same view. In fact, many western countries are not fond of the US at all, and would rather not be associated with them.
In the same way, if the Chinese media take a certain stance on an issue, it doesn't mean by default that all "eastern media" take the same view. The opinions broadcast by media outlets from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia etc are often very different from that of China's media. So again, just as the US is not representative of the "west", China is not representative of the "east" either ... It's well known that Japanese, Korean and Chinese media often take very different views on a wide range of topics, just as media in the western world often do not take the same view as one another.
The bottom line is, there is no such thing as "western media" ... and there is no such thing as "eastern media" ... There are simply too many countries, too many media outlets, and too many differing opinions to realistically lump them all together under the condescending term "western media". Generalisations are never a good thing. If we are to call out media outlets on their false news or biased reporting, then we should be addressing them individually as corporations, rather than accusing an entire hemisphere's media of being responsible.

Pro-China? Guess what? You will be berated by hundreds or even thousands of pro-democracy protesters, worst case you will be physically harmed. Running a business? Well once you side with Pro-China, you will lose all your customers and risked having your store vandalised.
On the other hand. Pro-democracy? Once you get identified, you risk backlash in the form of prison time, getting a job, heck you might even get extradited to China and never be seen or heard from again. Everything is recorded. Even if you managed to flee the country you can never come back to the place you grew up, visit your friends and family. One only need to look at Blizzard on why businesses are forced to side with China even though they might not agree with what China is doing. They have to answer to investors, shareholders, heck some even struggle to be profitable.
There is no black or white solution for this. One side want democracy and one side wants total control. They will never be a solution where both parties would be satisfied.

The vaccine is the violence to the objects like signs, fences, traffic lights and the virus is the Chinese government trying to make Hong Kong more mainland cultured. China has done a lot of things right, and the western media never highlights this. These people, goverment, and country has always treated me right. I want HK police to militarize their forces, adopt zero tolerance for the protestors by any means necessary, and free the city from them. Enough is enough. The cia(rumours in youtube) is paying them to ferment trouble for the ccp - used by cia.
The ccp is refusing to take action so that these rioters/protesters can be a lesson to hk people. How? Read on.
*A good China political insight to share:*
_Why is China not doing anything to stop the riots in HK?_
      Yang Wang
      Answered Nov 15, 2019
In the year of 1959, there was armed insurgency in Tibet, and Mao commented on this matter as
“For Tibet situation, the more chaos, the better, the army can get trained, the normal people can get educated, more importantly provides enough reasons for the future counter insurgency and reform.”
Now it is exactly the same situation in HK.
The more chaos in HK caused by these rioters, the more normal people in HK will get educated that the “peaceful” protesters are actually stupid “terrorists”.
When the city gets smashed (no traffic, no food, no jobs), the normal people will get educated that 'peace and bread' is the real “universal value”, rather than “democracy and freedom”.
When the banks leave HK, university professors and scholars leave HK, tourists leave HK, mainlanders leave HK, the normal people will get educated that it was the hard working people, the tolerant environment, and the strong bonding to mainland China that supported HK’s prosperity.
When the city is left in ruins, but the leaders of the riots are in Yale, in White House, in BBC giving speech, the normal people in HK will get educated that they were so fooled by those & their dirty secrets.
When, after the riots, HK is no longer a shining star but a disgusting corner filled with bias and criminals, the whole of China will get educated “one country, two system” is not working, it’s not that our system is not working, but their system is not working.
It is a great text book. In fact, it is a live example to show to all China, what would it be like if China is not under the leadership of the CCP. By that time, the people in HK will be holding flowers expecting to be a REAL part of China.
