Love simmentals i run a cow calf operation in ny with mostly sim angus the semis sure do grow we had the very first semis in this area 40 years ago we imported from canada nothing else grows like them and with angus crossed in they grade very well also nice bunch of cattle you have and i always run two bull 1 mature bull and a yearling we raise all our bulls
@ohrmundtsimmentals it's tried and true though. Grandad did it that way until he passed. I'm sure my uncles have updated some of the old equipment by now, but its how small farms work. More manual labor bcuz machines are expensive. I've never seen a stone silo before! That's history right there 🚜🚜
I think our screen is a 1/2" hole. It might be 3/8 but pretty 1/2. We tried a little smaller and it turned everything to powder. Then tried like 5/8 hole and it didn't crack all the corn. That's we like the 1/2".
3 loads of the grinder find our 4 ton bin. When we are feeding weaned calves and finishing steers. It lasts about 3 weeks. I'm the summer when we are just maintaining steers, it will last like 6 weeks.

Awesome! Yes we love our Sim's too and have had them since the mid 80's. Starting to get into the Full Blood side of it now. 🙂👍
