Bryce being benched IS his opportunity to learn and develop... He's simply not ready right now
He needs to go to another team.
I don't understand why some don't take that into account. They seem to be quick to trash the organization (they're not great I know), label Bryce a bust, and say he should be traded.
@@uthamanjHe’s also only 23. I’m sure you know if you’re a football fan, but QBs aren’t even at their prime til 30 typically. Position is way more mental than physical. I actually understand the benching to reset him. Dalton is a perfect backup too. But situation has ruined his confidence. He was never the biggest, fastest guy, but Bryce was insanely accurate at Bama and he seems to have lost that. I’d like to see him go to a diff team. Some guys can be resurrected and some can’t. Like watching Zach Wilson, he just didnt have a feel for the game. His situation was decent actually. Not the case at all with Bryce here. He began to play poorly, but they caused it.

As a Panther fan, I hope Canales pulled him to just give him some rest and take the pressure off his shoulders. I believe in Bryce but this toll is too much. Let Andy take his last ride and learn from him. Let the Panthers build. Be the QB of the future.

They literally went out and got the two best IOL in Free Agency, and signed one of the best separating WRs in Diontae Johnson.
Canales should've played him in all preseason games, instead of just one series.

I was going to say exactly the same thing lol let's not forget they dismantled a very good defense to load up the offense. They got a te and running back in the draft. I can't for the life of me understand why all these talking heads make so many excuses for Bryce and throw everybody else under the bus. The kid can't even read a blitz that he's been seeing all game long.

Especially when defenses are bringing a blitz every play because not only can Bryce not read said blitz but they know he isn't going to make them pay for it by trying to push the ball down field. Taking the perspective of Coach Canales. In week 2, Panthers started to see a running game emerge. Now they want to see that the receiving corps can be on time in their route running. Most of the offense and coaching staff have not played together, so Dalton will give them a chance to evaluate more clearly as he will make sure in the huddle and pre snap, everyone is in position. They also know Bryce would have been facing the top pass rusher in the NFL in Maxx Crosby. Dalton is experienced enough to deal with this.
As a Panthers fan, I don't won't Ryan anywhere near Bryce.

As a panthers fan this is not a easy pill to swallow I was okay with taking some lumps and seeing this through but to pull the plug on Bryce this fast seems really bad and I have no doubts like mayfield Darnold and half the league as a former Panther he’d shine elsewhere but we gave up so much already we can’t just give in on this investment it’ll set us back another 5 years easily, Tepper has absolutely no idea what he’s doing, NFL needs to expose him

This was an emotional rant that shows that Leaf either doesn't watch film or understand the game. Bryce wasn't playing NFL level Quarterback out there. Can't blame it on the rest of the offense this year.

@@ausonia2149 Because if he watched the last two games, hell if he watched a breakdown video, nah, if he watched one drive, he wouldn't be this adamant about defending Bryce and putting all the blame on Carolina.
I'd bet he didn't watch any of Bryce's film, and had an emotional reaction because of his past experiences, and hating to see it happen to others. However if he did watch the film then he doesn't know what he's talking about. And agreed he knows 100x more than I ever will, but it doesn't take much to see that Bryce wasn't playing functional Quarterback.

However his argument never suggested Bryce had any accountability. Bryce has accountability and agency, that's why he got benched.
Last year I'd agree the organization put him in a terrible offense. This year the front office revamped the offense and gutted the defense to do so, so Bryce could have a better opportunity to succeed, Leaf never mentioned this fact. His argument lacked knowledge and information, and is understandingly emotional about the situation.

Love the honest and candid comments as a former NFL player. ESPN & NFL is always blaming the players for being failures or blamed for the loss of a game. Success in college is NO indicator of future success in the NFL. If you look at the 1st round picks of the draft a few years after the draft I bet less than 50% of players really pan out. Evaluating college players is like predicting the weather a few days in advance and we know how that turns out. Also with insane quarterback salaries teams have a short window to determine if the guy is going to be worth it.
I would say they suck but it seems so much worse than that. It’s the players, the scouting department, the ownership, the coaches. Just so much wrong it’s almost not worth saving.
Young has been so bad that the team can not even be evaluated.

Growing up in Charlotte this is why it's hard to root for the Panthers. Front office decisions have been poor. Nothing against Bryce he just doesn't fit here in Carolina. People are still at Tepper for the way he handled Cam and TD, Olsen and fired Rivera

I just love how all these "analysists" haven't watched any film or Panther games for that matter. Because if they did they would tell you the truth. Which is Bryce has not been playing well the last two games. He actually has protection and weapons this year. Last year he had an excuse, this year not so much.

Bryce once threw for 461 yards and 3 touchdowns in a game during the 2021 season at Alabama. Hes a good player.....Carolina is just not maximizing his talent at all because he has nobody around him to succeed. As a Panther fan myself, i hope to God that Bryce gets another opportunity somewhere else because he deserves it.
