I dont mean any hate from this, I'm just curious about your thoughts cause the build looks fun on paper but I am not convinced it would be: Its a cool build from a build-design perspective, but I cannot see how this is any fun, other than you get the dopamines from killing multiple people when they zug you. I played an unkillable build in the early days (GA/hammer 300 Con tank back when that was the best you could do) and it was basically either I slowly killed them or I didn't die. But it got SOOO boring when I would get in stalemates with people and they would say "well I guess we cant kill each other, see ya" and just leave. This build seems to have even worse brainrot - you're practically indestructible against melee, and your main thing is just to click and hold LMB. You don't even have to aim, or try and be tactical with it cause it just cleaves everything. At least with the GA/WH I had a few combos I tried to pop off on and SOMETIMES net me a kill (wreckingball->shockwave->clear out->light, light->aim and land Reap->light/maelstrom->aim and land charge) and that was fun to try and setup. But in your case, its literally just press a button to get into defense stance and LMB for 15 seconds->repeat. Any single one of those melee players can just leave instead of attacking into you and there is nothing you can do about it. Does it struggle against any builds that make it more tactical gameplay? Like would you find yourself having to make smart plays against FS or ranged in general because it would be hard to close the gap? I can't see myself playing something unless there are instances where its a back-and-forth and there's a good chance I die unless I play well! I'm just curious because all these tank clips never show them having a tough fight, its always just 1VX where they stay at 100% health the whole time as people mindless attack into them. Hi bro! Thank you for the elaborate message! I will try to be as specific as possible. The whole SNS/GS gameplay started 2 years ago with Brimstone update. No one was playing it because people thought it was weak, and I was being left out of PVP because people thought I was trolling. I use SNS/GS because my 2 favorite weapons, and I would never swap them, no matter if they got nerfed to oblivion. To someone who does not play this build, this might seem like braindead, however, it is not. This is amplified by the fact that I usually fight 1vX, and show fights fighting 1v12. It's not easy to calculate when an ability will NOT be interrupted, while staying alive and while ATTACKING people. Moreover, Greatsword does not have any hard CC like WH, which means that I cannot make "guaranteed" combos either. So far, we have 2 weapons without hard CC, that cannot make "guaranteed" combos, and whose skills can be interrupted. The only exception is Rupture, which is the cornerstone of my abilities. I use Rupture when I am anticipating heavy damage, heavy CC, and people intending to push me as much as possible. Try, just for fun, to play the same build and go 1v5 or 1v7. Will it still feel braindead? Last but not least, about the weaknesses of the build: Yes there are weaknesses, especially Void Gauntlet. It's my nemesis. It can counter my build quite easily, with a huge room for error. However, extending beyond "builds" it also depends a lot on the playstyle of each player. By playstyle I mean dodge frequency, frequency of light/heavy attacks, playing around the environment, side stepping etc etc. Regarding Firestaff, it's a nice fight as our styles make the fight seem cool. I think in this video I show some fights vs VG and FS. :D Again, ty for the constructive message!
I don't mean to hate on what you said either but let's be honest. Your GA/WH build is not a tank. That's a bruiser, 300 con or not, you will die against a build like Alex's if you don't hit your heels and run. There's no such thing as an "unkillable build". You played the meta bruiser build back when it was at the top of the food chain and you felt strong. You can feel unkillable when there's a pocket healer on you 24/7 for sure. But don't call yourself a tank. That's a paper build when facing a real tank. The same way that for you it's not fun to play a build where you "just spam and have brain rot" for me it's not fun to hop around like a bunny with a GA or use a Hatchet to feel cool and unkillable. I can actually stay in a fight (without healers btw) in a 1vX scenario and still win. Is that boring to you? Does it sound boring? If it does then I guess the tank life isn't for you brother. Peace.
@@sugrless Sorry, you're absolutely right, so let me clarify. I played the GA/WH build back in beta/early months of the game's release when it was considered the "PVP tank" of the game (tutorials on youtube calling it such, leaders in my war company telling me to tank, etc. So admittedly, before much was known about the game). Then, maybe like, a year and a bit into the game, I worked on and built the Atlas build, which was the most interesting pvp Tank 1VX build I could find (e.g., see videos from Atlas Fishmo for more context). I played this for about 4 months (playing every day) and completely optimized it according to Atlas. It was a mistake. I hated the gameplay. I loved that nobody could mess with me (i.e., I was... yes, literally unkillable except by hoards of people) and I rarely ever lost a 1v1. I also rarely ever won a 1v1 because of stalemates. I also won more 1vXs then I ever had, and also died significantly less than I ever had. But, I felt like it was the same thing over and over and over. Hold block, get in defiant stance (now defender's resolve), shockwave, clearout, light light, repeat, sometimes throw a leaping strike and light attack, etc. As a side note, I also had fully optimized tank sets for every dungeon/creature type before they removed the wards from the game. I guess my main thing is that I like PvP tanking on paper (i.e., pushing buttons, being strong, 1vXing, etc) but in my experience I found most of the time I just spent being unkillable and also not killing people until they eventually left the fight and went to do something else. Sure, I killed many people, I am not saying I didn't. Sure, I died plenty as well, not saying I didn't. But the average experience for me was duking it out with someone and them eventually just leaving, or actually a lot of the time, people not even engaging me to begin with. Or, when I played it in wars or OPR, me sitting on a point and blocking things and stunning while the other went around and cleaned people up. So you're right, PvP tanking probably isn't for me. I just came to this video and saw clips of him pumping and he made the fighting look unreal. I literally had wide eyes and said to myself "I'm gonna build this", and then watched it again and watched closer and noticed it was the same thing. Use GS ability, LMB with guard point, repeat (with some filler abilities in there). I also believe that these are clips where Alexandros wins, and there are many that we don't get [want?] to see where it was either a stalemate or the person just didn't even want to engage. But, that said, things have changed a lot since I used to play a Tank, so maybe I have a soured taste in my mouth. That was primarily why I was asking for clarity from Alexandros. Quickly though, back to the side note, tanking in PvE is actually hella fun. Getting massive cleaves, stunning big abilities, taking wipe mechanics without even dodging, its super fun. Loved it. Kinda weird tbh! I am glad you enjoy tanking, I don't think its brainrot for everyone, and there is definitely a component to it where you can optimize fully and be super good at it like Alexandros, but you should try playing some medium armor (or even light armor) melee or something if you haven't. Split decision making on the cusp of life or death, completely at the mercy of your reaction time, you can kill people in 3 seconds or be killed in 3 seconds. It can be super fun. I actually now only play 5-con, light armor solo PvP because I LOVE when people underestimate how hard I can hit. I also love that it shows me when I screw up cause, well I die immediately. Definitely not for everyone though! Peace.
@@SamJonesNW Aw bro I love engaging in conversations like this - where all parties elaborate on their views. Thank you again for devoting time to reply to the posts above. You make excellent points and I agree with them 100%. I will devote a small paragraph for each as I feel all of them need to be addressed. 1) Regarding the GA/WH build you played: Yes correct this build was VERY popular back in the day as it had everything - engage, disengage, grit, damage, tankiness, mobility, CC, soft CC, debuffs, fortify! Still does, but now it cannot be played with the same speed due to an animation nerf of WH (it was needed tbh lol). I have fought against such a build, with one of the "good" players who was leading wars. Back in the day, he used to call me useless and that I am braindead, till we fought. This happened: th-cam.com/video/u-Tsatv-R0w/w-d-xo.html 2) Regarding "PvP tanking probably isn't for me": Maybe it is, maybe it is not, only you can say that. I just want to add that PVP tanking is not just "one thing". You can create a tank that can also chase, or have more CC, or have more speed, you imagination is the limit. My build is slow and clunky to be honest, people CAN run away from me, but if they want to get their objective, they MUST engage with me. In OPR, they NEED to take point, in Wars the same, in FFA PVP zone they NEED to get resources. So, in a sense, by my actions I force the enemy to play to my strengths. 3) Regarding " stalemate or the person just didn't even want to engage". It can definitely happen, I run slower than any other class, people can run away and pot, or escape. If they pot, eventually they will run out of pots. Once they realise that, they choose to escape lol. I do not upload those fights, cuz they are "boring" - who wants to see people run away and not fight? 😄 One important point to consider, is that this is because of heavy armor, and NOT because of the SNS/GS. When I fight naked, I can run faster, dodge further, and deal huge dmg even with defensive abilities. In this video, I show fights naked, with some of the enemies being in the PVP leaderboards Top 10: th-cam.com/video/Cmypf4rLQnM/w-d-xo.html 4) I watched some of your videos - you are definitely skilled and you know what you are talking about. Your latest vids are about GA & either Spear/SNS. Bro, if you are playing with 5 CON, you are a master tactician. You should make more videos and upload more. I do not know ANYONE who can play 5 CON and win consistently. Go for it mate!

Peace.
@@AlexandrosNewWorld thanks for the reply brother! You make it look really fun. Ill definitely consider building it out!
This happened: th-cam.com/video/u-Tsatv-R0w/w-d-xo.html
2) Regarding "PvP tanking probably isn't for me": Maybe it is, maybe it is not, only you can say that.
One important point to consider, is that this is because of heavy armor, and NOT because of the SNS/GS. When I fight naked, I can run faster, dodge further, and deal huge dmg even with defensive abilities. In this video, I show fights naked, with some of the enemies being in the PVP leaderboards Top 10: th-cam.com/video/Cmypf4rLQnM/w-d-xo.html
4) I watched some of your videos - you are definitely skilled and you know what you are talking about. Your latest vids are about GA & either Spear/SNS. Bro, if you are playing with 5 CON, you are a master tactician. You should make more videos and upload more. I do not know ANYONE who can play 5 CON and win consistently. Go for it mate!
10/10
Appreciated brother! 🤜
It has been an absolute blast carving my way through CK. So much PvP. Half of m y fights end with them just moving on after they realize that killing me is not worth the time. 🤣
Allow me to correct this bro: Half of m y fights end with them just moving on after they realize that killing me is IMPOSSIBLE
@@AlexandrosNewWorld You're not wrong there lol
You are also running Slash Cond? Or Shirking Heals? I am torn between the two and want to get feedback lol
I feel like since you're using Upheaval anyways, a sword with contagious upheaval would have been better. Transferring rends/diseases/weakens is a ton of value.
Hey bro! I do not currently use it, but all my friends tell me that it is awesome. Maybe I should give it a try. Have you tried it?
@AlexandrosNewWorld Not yet, but since I dropped a very nice sword with this perk I'll definitely give it a try. Seems too good to pass up given how easy hitting Upheaval is.
@@dominiorrr6510 Please drop a message after you try it out! :D Interested to know how it works in heavy
I play a very similar play style but I can never get anyone to commit to actually trying to kill me they usually give up and run away after I start poking them back 😅
Yeah that can happen bro! However, I might have a few surprises in the future, that could prevent people from escaping so easily. We will see.
I am also on that server, i reroll new char on Aries because i play on ps server from begening but server is low pop not much to do but i am sad because on ps server i have very good gear, but now new journey starts on Aries
New journey, new opportunities! Hope to see you in game mate. Feel free to DM anytime!
@ yea sure, PS:i watched couple of your videos and never read or trying to find where you play but i have some gear here and also hit 65 lvl before 3 day and trying to find what i will play this time and see your video and first time i look your description below video and see you are on Aries 🤷
Hahaha thought you knew where I am, and that's why I thought you mentioned Aries in your comment looool
@@AlexandrosNewWorld no i didnt knew you on aries. I never look descriptions on any video only if guy say in video look in description for some information.
the build looks so unfun but ig it works. looks like a mindless spamming but gonna try
It's far from it bro I promise you! The moment you stand vs 2,3,5,10 people and you try to fight them, you will notice how much precision it takes to survive. :D
Tanking is not for everyone to be honest, but the feeling of being outnumbered and STILL making the others run away is AWESOME.
@ youre probably right, my bad, gotta try it first to know.
@@HumbleZealot Well, maybe I am just bad. But between us, I think hatchet is more braindead spamming ahhahaah :D
@@AlexandrosNewWorldhe won't be able to tank many people and just give up and call the build bad 😂
@@sugrless With a bit of patience and consistency, he will be able to tank many, and who knows, maybe more than me! :D
RIP counter attack tech
Hahaha that was cheese bro. We don't need that to dominate PVP. I actually might have a surprise Shield for this expansion...coming soon, maybe xD
Man and people complain about Hatchet and fire staff.. this guy doesn't even take damage lol
Hahahaha I wish it was that easy! It's just a montage bro, everyone can appear cool in a montage. Hatchet and FS have different kind of advantages.
Actually, fact is that it all ends when the population numbers drop below satisfactory.
I think that's true for every game, in history, ever.
@@AlexandrosNewWorld True, but some happen faster and less expected than others.
You need better jewelry and weapons!
I know bro :(
