i have one of these om617 in my shop. I need to clean it and put it back together. so glad I have the factory manual on this engine. just need to get the motivation to do so.
Go for it these cars are awesome once you restore them back to their former glory! Also if you need any manuals for the 123 or 617 engine just go to my website and go to the downloads section and you can get all of that stuff for free woodsandbarclay.com
@@woodsandbarclay awesome. thank you. i had a 82 300sd. ran 200k on used atf. you will pick up hp by getting rid of the factory paper filter. fyi. it is noticeable and will not get oil soaked
Congrats man !!! You really did a great job! I have an 83 coupe and it brings joy to see all your videos, especially the silver coupe. Can't wait to see the walkaround and the drive!!!
Wow after seeing your videos, I want to get mine on the road again but don't know where to start? The last time I drove it was about 25 years ago and sat in my garage since ...
We actually do pressure wash the undercarriages now. This was over a year ago before I had a detailer working for the shop. However keep in mind pressure washing an undercarriage does not make any difference regarding switching parts. Parts can be removed and reinstalled just as easy regardless of if you pressure wash the undercarriage. All you see on the bottom of this car is dust because the car was out of Arizona.
@@SpikeArrowood you don't get crud in the threads just because there's some dirt on the bottom of your car. Really has no effect on installing or moving parts. What you need to be careful about is cars with Rusty undercarriages. That's what you want to stay away from. Dirt really has no effect.
Hello from San Antonio Tx. Just to let you know I have a 1978 300 CD with 150.000 miles heavy rust around bottom. Will it be worth fixing it.? It runs great great interior color is cream or yellow.
We do not buy Rusty vehicles under any circumstance. Rust destroys the value of a vehicle and it's too difficult and time-consuming to repair and often it can never fully be repaired.
Damn... That sounded cold haha. I feel like those cars still deserve saving. When I see empty Porsche shells sell for 20k... Quick question: just from looking around the car, I only see an engine shock on the passenger side. Can't seem to find one on the driver side. Does my car only have one? Or is it just well hidden on the driver side 😶🌫️ Euro spec 1979 300d non turbo

May I ask why you didn't pressure clean the underside of the car to make switching parts easier and cleaner?
