- Nato's secretary general has said the recapture of Lyman in eastern Ukraine shows Ukrainians can push back against Russian forces.
Russia has withdrawn its troops from the strategic town, which is within the territory that President Vladimir Putin declared as annexed.
Ukrainian troops on the front line have said that Russian annexation in the country will fail.

War is terrible and changes everything around. I used to just watch the news about wars and forget about it. But during the Second Karabakh War, I felt it myself. Every day of the war was like hell. Every minute it was in my head. Questions like is anyone dying at this moment at the front? Could my neighbor's son or other acquaintances survive today? Every ambulance I saw made me anxious. I tried not to watch the horrifying scenes of the war circulating on social media, but I still saw on TV or on the news the grief of families who lost sons, wives who lost husbands, children who do not understand why their fathers did not come. . Since then, the war has become a trauma for me and I consider it one of the terrible inventions of mankind ... I hope that this wars will end soon, and Ukrainians and other war-torn people, like us, Azerbaijanis, will live in peace and prosperity.
