    Thank you for sharing your lessons and drills. This lesson on shallowing the shaft is terrific. Just trying to ingrain the dropping of the shaft during the start of the downswing. Next, I’ll incorporate the wrist movement to close the clubface through impact. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and humor. Watching from Williamsburg Virginia

    This is basically the same idea as the No Turn Cast. I learned NYC and it transformed my swing for the better. This video seems to incorporate the turn more and doesn't chiefly rely on the philosophy of throwing the club with your hands as much as NTC through release.

    Great tip!! New subscriber and loving the content.
    When I do this move with driver it feels like I loop it behind and I get the elbow stuck and flip it. Like to see a video on getting the longer clubs out in front with this move.

      Hey thanks for subscribing and I'm glad you're enjoying the content. It sounds like what's happening is, as you make this move, your body will be extending towards the golf ball, so a little bit of early extension. Even with the longer clubs as we make this move, we want to feel ourselves getting our body out of the way by pushing our hips back and then rotating. I will do more videos on this. This is a good point. I hope even this helps.

    My local instructor got me on this move first lesson... it works. after practice from November to current my hands have gotten much better and I can deliver the club +2 to -2 on trackman. AND I saw ball speed with a 7 iron go over 100 mph for me which is pretty good. (arthritic and had a hip replacement) However now need to figure out a way to deliver club less steep into ball. hands too far ahead and all shots are low and low spin. Love your content and follow you here and in IG. You are a good golf coach Thanks for the content!

      That's awesome to hear. It's a really good drill and such a good way to start the downswing. In terms of hitting it too low with not enough spin, just check that your body isn't shifting too far in front of the ball at impact, particularly the upper body. If it is, you might want to feel the upper body just hang back a little bit, not quite as much as a driver, but it might be a case of your upper half is too far in front of the ball at impact. Just something you can check out

    I do this move just before I get to the top of the backswing you've got more time then you can just let the downswing go works like clockwork 👍

    Loved the video and your content. You mentioned you do a lot of drills and practice swings, what’s a good place to start when approaching this? Eg. 10 practice swings then hit a ball

    • @dlgolftips
      @dlgolftips  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks so much, glad you're enjoying the content. Okay, so I have a couple of videos on my page about making a swing change. You can check those out. But a good rule of thumb is three good repetitions of what you're trying to achieve. And then, hit a golf ball on the 4th one. But when you hit the golf ball, hit it at around 50% pace. Spend around half to three quarters of your practice session repeating this. And then towards the end, start hitting normal speed shots, trying to implement the feelings. Does that make sense?

    Watching from Kenosha, WI just south of Milwaukee. The wrists were the biggest problem for me, my swing always looked fine in videos, not over the top, actually had a pretty shallow/in to out path, and it never dawned on me to really focus hard on keeping my lead wrist bowed. Feel isn’t always real, and I have to really FEEL like my lead wrist is insanely bowed (in videos it’s not) and that leads to my very best ball striking

    • @dlgolftips
      @dlgolftips  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey, thanks so much for the comment, and welcome to the channel. Yes, in some cases, golfers will have a good path, maybe pretty neutral or slightly from the inside, but leave the face open. And in some cases, that can look like a slice, when all they need to do is get the club face squared up to make it perfect. And as you say, bowing the wrist in your case sounds like it's putting it nice and flat, or squaring the club face for you. It's something that I have to feel in my golf swing also. I work very hard at bowing my lead wrist. But as you say, when I look at it on camera, it's flat to slightly cupped, but it's just something we have to fight ⛳️

    I have always had a slice but also have been able to change my technique and have a straight flight or even a draw. The problem is that over time the slice keeps coming back do you have any tips on how to prevent this?
    greetings from the netherlands.

      @dlgolftips  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, thanks for the comment and welcome to the channel. Yes, this is very common. As we think we've nailed something in the golf swing, we tend to revert back to our swing DNA, which for you may well be a little bit of an over-the-top move. When this happens, it usually means that the move is not natural yet and requires more work and repetition. Don't be afraid to overdo something as it is much easier to dial it back. Hope this helps.

    Hi David love this explanation just wondering how it would work alongside or maybe instead of using my newly acquired Prosendr??

    • @dlgolftips
      @dlgolftips  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Ian Thanks for the comment. Oh yes, it will work perfect with that. When you get to the top, and you feel your right wrist in the cradle, and you start the downswing, as you twist, you'll feel your right hand move further into the cradle. If you couple that with the little drop move, it will really, really help you. The ProSENDR is brilliant

    Good tip! I started doing this move and saw some awesome draw shot-shapes. It eliminated my over the top swing; however, I also see some nasty hooks off the planet. I haven’t found a way to make this consistent and there always seems to be a different amount of bowing in the wrist each time. How does one make this consistent and avoid nasty hooks?

    • @dlgolftips
      @dlgolftips  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So glad it has helped you, it’s a great feeling. The nasty hook is likely caused by not letting the body rotate enough through the ball. Now that this move is putting you in the position you will be free to rotate hard. This will stop the left shot. Does that make sense?

    • @Mizza62
      @Mizza62 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dlgolftips Sure does. I can see myself on camera not rotating as much as my arms take over. Need to feel that trail shoulder getting through the ball. Next piece to the puzzle. Thanks!

    What would happens to the release when club face is too shut mid Downswing? What release? :) Probably early extending to hold and open back that shut club face.

    • @dlgolftips
      @dlgolftips  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, exactly. When the club face is too closed, some people compensate, as you say, by leaning back and opening the face. But generally speaking, the best compensation would be to rotate and turn your body harder. I hope this makes sense.
