I got to your channel because my neighbor is getting the roof replaced through an insurance claim. Rep came over trying to sell me on a new roof. His only hook was “I’m doing your neighbors and you should also do yours.” Now my roof is seven years old and when I presented that to him he didn’t even try or attempt to overcome the objection. But after seeing so many other videos “why am I not in roofing sales?” I’m a sales trainer. Your guest nails the real intrinsic reasons sales happen and objections.
This was a great interview. Lots of fun to watch. I have a smart home business and I have to go knock on doors to get work for me and my guys. I learned a bunch. Thanks Dmitry for doing these videos.
Got to your channel because a neighbor is getting a roof done. The D2D rep came over and was horrible. The only hook was that my was “my neighbor is getting one paid by insurance so I should”. Got down this rabbit hole of roof now roof sales. I’m a sales trainer and this guy gets deep ideas of what selling is. I need to get into roofing sales.
I was sending out a mailout, I was dropping door hangers, I was making phone calls and one day I realized that it was costing me anywhere from 10 to 20 hours a week just to get two or three appointments. I really only need a few appointments because the commission I earn is very high. So just one sale each week can be around $100K a year but it took forever to prepare the mailouts, the door hangers, to make the phone calls etc. So my GM told me that I should toss all that out the window and just go door to door. He said something that changed everything. He said: "It's all what you get used to." He's so right. I only knock Monday and Tuesday from about 5:00 to 7:00 and I set plenty of appointments for the entire week. Sometimes I get all I need on Monday alone! That's 2 to 4 hours a week rather than 10 to 20! Door to door does NOT suck! I actually enjoy it. The way I look at it is, on every single street is one appointment. It's the one appointment I need. All I have to do is knock all of the doors on the way to that one and I will get that appointment. I quit the other stuff and now I just knock doors and I have so much more free time. Love it!
We flew to Utah Tuesday and went to the D2D Bootcamp. It was Awesome ! Game changer for us I’m about to catch a flight back to Maryland and start implementing what we’ve learned here. We also met a lot of like minded roofers, solar and Pest companies. I Highly recommend D2D
Imy teach i have 10 times experience and success of this guy as a knocker and sales management. Of course we are great at lead digital but 1/2 people don't know they can get a roof
Nah, I like when briskness comes to me. I believe in creating value and good offer first, business will follow. Have been doing everything this way. Apple doesn’t door knocking to sell you watch.
Door knocking has proven itself useless and a sure way to irritate a homeowner. The average housewife is so over being interrupted by uninvited salesmen. Word of mouth keeps our phone ringing with no shortage of customers to sign up! ✌️😁
Why would you completely write off a section of customers? Yes some will say no but isn't that sales. You have no acquisition cost other than sweat equity. So 10 people say no to one yes.... you got one yes and have 90 more doors for free.
@@daniel122951 luckily, we've found expertise and reputation provide all the sales we need. Most neighborhoods in Florida are protected by HOAs that make it perfectly clear door to door sales are prohibited. Those companies that send out salesmen regardless are reported and run off, pissing off those potential customers. It's your call, but you're better off leaving door hangers announcing a neighborhood job with references and invitation to see your progress or finished product 😊
@@Christie-cz7tc Your saying door knocking doesn't work but then next you say to announce you've done a job and leave door hangers. You are still selling door to door, you just changed what you call it.
@@daniel122951 what I said, is you are better off leaving something if you insist on going door to door. We don't do either. You want to chance irritating homeowners... Be my guest
