The best clan, hands down. So many ways to play in so many different games.
This a crime-heavy game? Lean into the mafioso flavor with catspaws, shell corporations, informants, wealth, and organized crime.
This a mystic heavy game? You can talk to ghosts, raise the dead, have vast repositories of occult lore surpassed only by the Tremere, and literally enter the underworld.
This a politics game? You're independent, have a pile of backstory with a super cool origin, and have tons of connections to the living, dead, undead, and crime worlds.
This a lifestyle game? You're in competition with the other branches and members of the family, currying favor and rising in the ranks.
This a combat heavy game? You have Potence, Dominate, and the tactical means to have a real answer to the challenge "you and what army?"

After reading the clan book and clan novel I ran em as mafia style family, and one of players got so pissed that he quit playing with us, like ready to get into a fist fight over me "misrepresenting" them, and I was jus like bro read all the books they're the vampire necro mafia

I'm a bit of a history buff myself and I think it would be very interesting learning about how some of these famous individuals are depicted in the world of darkness as opposed to actual history.

I'm kinda disappointed that the Giovanni's didn't have a bigger role in Bloodlines.
Cool podcast but just one thing: on the entry of Ambrogino, actually the sargon fragment consists on 3 different fragments, mallotte unlocked just one part, the tetragrammaton, y GC3 they look for the second part the anexeheton. Sadly the GC never closed the plotline on the primematum (the 3rd part ) to complete the sargon fragment.

Giovanni clan book mentions that the Italian farm countryside is crawling with Gangrel running as street dogs along with Fianna Garou werewolves that pass for more in appearance of Italian shepherds, which was the domestication of Italian wolves .
It briefly suggests that the Giovanni has breed their own branch of werewolf kinfolk within their own ranks. Identify a garou and send your women to get pregnant by them. Then you have a chance to have a family loyal dog.

Euthanatoi, death cultist dealing with Wraiths. Core root of the Giovanni merchant family.
Dreamspeaker, deals with spirits.
Verbena, old folk countryside magic. old gods.
note : Euthanatoi and Verbena both worship or offer prayers and invoke Hecate Latin/Roman goddess of Death and travel through the Under World.
Fianna Italian Garou/werewolves/Lupin.
Giovanni women search out and identify know Lupins and get themselves pregnant by them to create a line of kinfolk with chances of having a group of werewolves born within the family and be loyal to the Family.
Wraith the Oblivion, wraiths/ghost created by the Giovanni and are loyal to the family.
Family tradition is when you are born within one of the family many branches or get mafia swore in, you have your two little toes cut off so if you die later on where if they can't recover the dead body, they have two of your bones to raise a wraith from.

With v5 Changeling the Lost, the Hedge is just another power center and market zone of the Giovanni projection of power.
With Mage the Awaking, going over the rules of stripping manna from living people to use as fuel to power spells, and Awakening the Spirit of objects and Shaping of Spirits. Augustus Giovanni can be treated on the level of both being a vampire/kindred and a lesser spirit deity existing on multiple spirit plans at the same time. So treat him both as a vampire and a Mage/Werewolf Bane spirit at rank 6 to 8.
My last gaming shop spent two years starting with the Vampire: Dark Age core rule book and work our way up through the centuries to the modern era.
Playing as kindred, mages, and wraiths to build up Vience's economic power. With a werewolf through in from time to time.

Some vampires are afflicted with the Flesh of the Corpse which makes healing scars nearly impossible... Unless they are desperate enough to put themselves at the mercy of a Tzimisce fleshcrafter.
The kindred have a dedicated sect that does nothing but heal people. I think they're malkavian not sure.. it's been awhile since I've been in the life for vtm.

(Spoilers) Idk how but In V5's "The Black Hand: Playing the Sabbat" book Genevra somehow survived her assassination from the Miliners. What are your thoughts on this?

Turns out it's from the ST vault so it's not canon, even though it's made by the writers of Paradox's Sabbat book.
The Giovanni were "necromancers". What does that mean exactly, in WoD terms? Were they mages? Can anyone become a necromancer? What does a human necromancer do?
It means that the Giovanni family/clan have always been sick fucks. But to answer some of your questions:
- They were technically mages, though I guess you would call them "dark mages" who were more interested in dark, forbidden magic.
- Anyone can TRY to become a necromancer. However Necromancy is very dark, very dangerous sorcery/magic. If I remember correctly Necromancy wasn't even that common back in the old days when the 3rd generation ruled the 2nd city. Ur-Shulgi is now awake and many WoD fans believe that the mages will use Necromancy to deal with him since he is insanely powerful and quite mad, so necromancy would be the safest bet against him/it since it's doubtful he is even aware that it is a threat to him.
- Human necromancer is usually fascinated with death or he/she simply want to control the dead. Humans who are interested in this type of magic/sorcery are usually POS, degenerates, lunatics or a combination of these things. Giovanni are all of those things and more. Some would argue that they are the darkest clan in the modern nights ( they are one of the darkest for sure ). Anyway if memory serves, the Giovanni were always obsessed with dark shit, especially death and they are also into corpse fuc$ing so Necromancy is kinda a dream come true for them.
