      Not every move, the idea of Kc1(which I didn't find myself too) is the right move, f3 loses momentum and the evaluation goes from +6 to +2, which is still winning for white, but the move is still a mistake, since it loses a lot of advantage. Black is inaccurate too and allow white to get the large advantage back. Not saying I could have done better, not even equal, but just saying it wasn't completely accurate.

    On my computer, Stockfish agrees with the sacrifice.
    It gives +0.8 on depth 22.
    I wonder if that is still the case for higher depths

      actually sometimes engines got a problem until you play couple of moves into the sac or use them at absurdly high depth.
      We don't know if white had enough advantage to win in the position or black could've easily made into favorable endgame.
      All we know is, it was a playable line and very interesting one.

      Same. Actually likes taking the bishop on g7 and sacrificing the queen that way. I let the computer play out and it was a draw in the end

    Black was in some sort of positional zugzwang throughout the game. This contest illustrates the importance of activity. Activity is the key in chess. That’s why the engine always loves activity over all.

    Two pieces for a queen was a fair trade, especially since that knight was so strong and that bishop was the main defender of the king. Eliminating that bishop jarred the king from his safety zone and put him on the run for the rest of the game.

    Hugely enjoyed that.
    On the first puzzle it was one of the first moves i considered, but didn't have the follow up.
    Obviously it was more because u had already mentioned the vuarnability of the piece, otherwise would have never thought of it.
    It is one of my weaknesses failing to capitalise on the constraints of the pieces with regards to the board and its a great way to win pieces this way too.

    Incredible. Black's last piece to move was his other rook. It was paralyzed the whole game until he finally brought to the center. But alas, that was the fatal blow as it was just prior to the pause the video ending. The reason the queen trade worked for white was because it crippled Black's development and mathematically gave white a 11 point vs. 9 point advantage, due to the impotence of Black's rook.

    It's always interesting to see a line like this. Unexpected sac with a good followup... It takes a good amount of tournament tactics to use it againt the correct opponent. Good enough to be needed using it... but not too good or he'll refute it over the board. Like Capablanca did wuth the Marshall attack. Or Ding did to Fabi some 2 years ago.
    Because, I am pretty sure that everyone will check this line with black now

    Engine favors black slightly (at least on depth 24- possibly it is equal on higher depths), but even dept 14 agrees that f5 is a mistake lol. Black should have remained passive...well engines for ya! they can keep their cool even when up a queen vs 2 pieces.

      ​@@johnkildea2796 The traditional rating of the value of pieces is quite close to what chess engines have determined through extensive training. This is, of course, without taking position into account. I think most players would prefer three minor pieces to a queen, provided the pieces are already coordinated. Otherwise, the queen can pick them off.

      Probably because that way you'll still capture the Knight on g4 after the forced Kxg7, and then the dark bishop is still on e3 to give a double attack on h6.

    #suggestion you can make a series on the greatest jews in chess history. Out of the 16 world champions , 5-6 of them were jews. We are such a small community in the world but very strong at chess. During the history jews from wide variety of countries were prominent. We also have Eric rosen and Levy rozman
