I found a more efficient mating sequence. On move 34 Instead of Qg2 white plays Qc6+ forcing black to play K×a3, then white plays either Kc2 or Re2 leaving black the only good move K×b4 then white plays Rb1+ or Rb2+ check depending either on Kc2 or Re2 respectively forcing black to play Ka3 then a simple Ra1+ or Ra2+ is checkmate
Any move that allows you to continue or start an attack can be considered an offensive move. Since the queen check allowed black to defend, then king to B1 could be considered an offensive move doesn't it?

When you've seen an attack this aesthetically pleasing why not allow the mate over the board? I might have applauded or at least offered the man a beer for such beautiful chess.
Maybe you don't play that much over the board chess with stakes. Sometimes you resign before mates like this because you're completely demoralised after spending hours and hours and believing you found the answer. You may begin thinking about various forks in the game or if you're extreme why am I playing professional chess. Some guys like svidler routinely allow mate on board because he really really enjoys chess aesthetically first but even then depending on the importance of the game he has resigned beforehand.

"Mate in 13" can only be felt, not calculated, based on position and potential. That's insane though. Beautiful game! There are times that forcing mate in long sequences just happens naturally, and so was this, especially Bb3! I love moves like that!

Firstly I think you can ask Google to point you in the direction of a school. Secondly it isn't. It is a losing attack. It is very much like Tal. There are games which have amazing 20 move sequence attacks. Agadmator's video of Kasparov's immortal for example was perfect play and it was amazing. I'd honestly rather see carlsen crush someone from an equal position in the end game. That shows deep understanding of the game and also a monster iq. This was losing and while amazing to watch it isn't a perfect game

at 12:00 instead of queen to g2 the move should have been queen to c6 check, the only option for black is b5 after which queen captures b5 checkmate, would have been easier edit : wouldnt have been a mate black king would have captured a3 but mate would have been certain anyway so no problem

The Bishop to G2 move at 4:04 is the underrated move of the game. It nullified what seemed like a free piece for black while developing and setting everything else up
At 7:10 Stockfish 10 evaluates the position as completely equal. In fact, after Nc3+, bxc3, Rxf7, Qxg6+, Kf8, Qh6+, Rg7, Bd5, Bf5+ and white can block the check with e4 (maybe you have missed this Pawn push) counterattacking black Bishop. Then Ke8 by black, Bc6+, Bd7, Qh5+, Kf8, Qh6, Bf5, Bd5 and so on, repeating moves. Anyway, it doesn't really matter, even if black doesn't play Nc3+ but the direct Rxf7 as in the game, after Qxg6+, Kf8, Qh6+, Rg7, Bxd5 still Bf5+ is completely playable and in fact is the best move for black, and still, the evaluation by Stockfish is equal. So, the real blunder by black is at 9:05, not playing Bf5+ but the incorrect Ke8.

At 7:10 Stockfish 10 evaluates the position as completely equal. In fact, after Nc3+, bxc3, Rxf7, Qxg6+, Kf8, Qh6+, Rg7, Bd5, Bf5+ and white can block the check with e4 (maybe you have missed this Pawn push) counterattacking black Bishop. Then Ke8 by black, Bc6+, Bd7, Qh5+, Kf8, Qh6, Bf5, Bd5 and so on, repeating moves. Anyway, it doesn't really matter, even if black doesn't play Nc3+ but the direct Rxf7 as in the game, after Qxg6+, Kf8, Qh6+, Rg7, Bxd5 still Bf5+ is completely playable and in fact is the best move for black, and still, the evaluation by Stockfish is equal. So, the real blunder by black is at 9:05, not playing Bf5+ but the incorrect Ke8.

I believe you have to play bxe4+, give back the piece and be up a pawn in the endgame as black after swapping queens off.
If only Chess was designed to have more such kind of games. Shogi is...
