Thanks Justin for helping grow my channel. I never would've expected the growth and improvement in my videos if it wasn't for you. Good luck everyone in your journey, we can make it!!
I am new to creating video, so being a Mac user I naturally started with iMovie. I have watched several iMovie tutorials on TH-cam, and this one stands out above the others. Thanks for the through, and easy lesson to follow.
Best Beginning Editing video on TH-cam, period. Justin is not only an outstanding editor, he's a brilliant communicator. So easy to follow and helpful. Thanks, Justin, for this and all of your videos - practical, insightful and entertaining along the way. Cheers, man.
So many editing solutions. I use iMovie, GoPro app, DJI app and now Wevideo thanks to watching your videos. I'd watch an hour or more of you if you wanted to compare some of them. Now I need to watch all of your videos. BTW, I'm a teacher and you are a great teacher!

This video could not have come at a better time! Just got my MAC after the most recent update and currently learning how to improve my editing skills for my channel! Thank you Justin, YOU ARE THE MAN!!
I was Justin about to pay silly money 💵 🇬🇧 to do a video Editing course until I came across Justin and haven't look back 😊, saved me a small fortune mate, absolutely brilliant tutorials.. Thanks Adrian 😊...
Excellent video for a starter like me - explained it very clearly, got my first video done in next 30min after watching your video, this is exactly what I was looking for - simple, fast and easy, well done!!!
Thank you so much. My husband just bought me a new 2022 Mac Book Pro. I used my iPad to create my IMovies. Now I can create my video with my new Mac BookPro because of your detailed instructions. I just subscribed also. Thanks again for the detailed instructions. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I'm used to editing in the old fashioned film-editing process. That is you take your roll of 'dailies' then you break them down & file them by scene: master shot, medium, close ups, 2-shots, cutaways, inserts, high angles, low angles etc. What is your recommendation in id'ing the footage, in other words not having to continually scroll.
thanks a lot, I really appreciated these tutorials Justin, great video huge fan from Mexico u have really helped me to create and edit better videos for my insurance company and for my real estate agency
Thanks so much Justin! You are the best! This is so clear and concise..,the audio and colour adjustment to all clips is so useful..never quite got that before...what a time saver.. ... thank you!
Thanks Justin, it was one of the best tutorials I've ever heard. Very professional and easy to understand for everyone. I saw your video for the first time and I'm really excited about the content. I am now using it the wisdom acquired for my first youtube video. Awesome 🤩
thanks for putting this together, Justin... as an absolute beginner just starting to create some videos to promote my business, this was such a great introductory guide...
I use voiceovers when I have sped up my process videos. I struggle because I just can’t find a lot to say!? A lot of dead air space, so I’ve elected to just put in music most of the time.
This video was extremely useful, as I’m just starting my channel. Question about the initial editing segment. Are you going through and watching/listening to each second as you’re making cuts? It looked like you were simply eyeing it and cutting. I’m guessing that was for the purpose of this tutorial? Or else how would you catch every “um” or pause, etc? Make sense? Thank you. 💫
Just checking out as I will need to edit a video next week for a college assessment. When adding titles, can you explain if this would be able to work for subtitles? Like can you add subtitles to your videos on iMovie (especially if the audio is not in English)
Hi Justin, thanks for the helpful video, it has really made video editing easier for me. I am curious about how you make the bar at the bottom of the screen to show which part of the tutorial you are at, it makes it so much clearer to follow along. Is it possible to make a tutorial on this please?
This was fantastic, thank you. I shot my video on iPhone 11, it looked great in the phone, Portrait. Now I have it in iMovie and turned it into landscape for youtube , im on my side, its 30-min-long so will I have to go and do it again in my iPhone? That would be such a pain as its really good. G
Another great video! Wow, 666k subscribers, congratulations, soon 1M. Question, is better to record 4K so if you want crop videos it maintain 1080p when you publish or doesn’t make much difference?
You're the best! I've learned a lot from you. I will definitely start saving my color corrections for the end of my editing from now on, so thank you for explaining that. Your videos are so incredibly helpful! :)
Thanks Justin. Even though I knew most of what was covered in this video I still learned a few things to apply to my next edit. In the future would like to see some advanced features like making L cuts and J cuts with precision editor and using the clip trimmer. I'm experimenting with those and I'm not quite getting it.
That was excellent Justin. Thank you. I just sat down to iMovie for the first time and your video made it easy. thank you. I presume you have a video that includes iMovie & GREEN SCREEN? I'll have a look for that now.
Thanks Lisa! We don't have one about using green screen in iMovie, but if you google how to use green screen clips in iMovie there are some helpful videos 👍
HI again Justin. I am a total beginner..please can you explain why. you put overlay above and not between the clips on the main timeline? What is the advantage of this?
Hi Bella, putting the overlay on the above layer is so that it shows on top of the video underneath. So both the lower layer and the top layer are showing on screen at the same time. If I had put it in the main timeline between clips, it would have only shown the overlay clip and nothing behind it - if that makes sense.
Thanks Justin. But I am a bit confused. I understand if you put a picture in picture you see what’s on the main timeline ....but with the overlay you don’t see the main timeline but you just hear the voice is is that right? You’re just adding to the story without interrupting the sound of the original timeline? Thanks again.B
Hi Justin....I got Premier Pro a couple of months ago, learned how to use it, have tons a knowledge in photoshop etc, but don't have to much work for Premiere Pro, it is too expensive for my Real Estate needs in N.Y.C. That was for the purpose of the tutorial, during editing I listen to the footage and make the necessary cuts at the 'ums' and 'aahs' :)
