    Thanks for the video. Do you pull the axle from the front diff and grease the inside splines ? and how often ?

      To be honest haven’t had the time to do the front yet just hope that they are not like the back ones, but will grease them as soon as got the time, and how often, I say once a year should be good if you put good water proof grease and after one year if you see that you don’t need more just leave it like that it’s not like anything can get in your rear end true the splines it just that the day you need to get and axle out you won’t need to buy a final gear and scrap your axle trying to get them out if you only do trail rides probably ones is good if you play in deep water every weekend check it more often hope this help

    I just did my on my defender hd10 and ordered the hub grease tool, unfortunately the x3 is the only one that the axle pases through the tool so i had too remove my hub to pull my spindle and drop my a arms what a pain in the ass.

    The bearings in an x3 are the same as bearings used on saturn cars...zero need to grease them..

      @@Can-AmX3Dude I have a lot of people say not to grease them. It can cause more harm than good. So I guess I don’t know what to do. I’m trying to do preventative maintenance to make stuff last. Advice? I have a 22 Maverick sport max 1000r 4-seater.

      @@GallagherRC I had to replace the 2 rear bearing in less the 1 year I think it was even less then 10 months and the I greased the 2 new rears and the 2 front so that was in 2020 I got a 2019 X3 like you know and haven’t changed a wheel bearing since it’s 2024, 4 years later, and that is no bs, just use high quality grease for one and you should be ahead of the game, if your X3 is 6 to 10 months old and your greasing them now and they do fail, was not because you grease them, you greased them too late, don’t know why someone would say that greasing them would cause more damage, everything that rotates metal on metal needs lubrication if it’s not oil it’s grease!!! Hope this clears your decision, please let me know what you decide, I’m curious 🧐 have a great day and be safe on the trails

      @@Can-AmX3Dude a lot of people have said on forums when I asked about greasing them, that you have to be careful because if you put too much grease, you’ll blow the seals they can fail prematurely, that they do not need much grease and they are filled to spec at factory, etc. I have 1200 miles on my machine. I just changed all the fluids. I just wanted to do everything I could prevent a maintenance wise. I have lithium grease was going to use on them. I’m waiting on the tool to arrive in the mail. I can’t see why putting a few pumps in each one would bother anything?

    Over greasing bearings will destroy them quicker by building up heat and increasing friction. Bearings can’t roll when too much grease applied.

      @Can-AmX3Dude  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      That one is funny, because with all the extra added on we put on are X3 and bigger tires, I don’t think my wheels bearing won’t turn!

      @@KentuckyCanAm have you ever packed a wheel bearing on a pickup truck or a trailer and I have and never had any problems by fully packing them cause that what we did at the dealership and heavy equipment and never had any problems in almost 30 years , but you can do anything I just know that I didn’t grease mine when I got my X3 and the rears had to be replaced in 6 months on stock tires and now the rears are on 3 1/2 years on 32 inches and no play !
