Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith - Battle of Coruscant Alternate Fan Edit

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 17 เม.ย. 2016
  • Changes:
-Entire scene has been recut and reordered for maximum effect.
-Entire scene has revamped color timing. No more yellow wash.
-Many blue blasts are now green.
-Anakin's starfighter has been changed from yellow to grey.
-Visual effects change to add extra blasts from Obi-Wan's starfighter.
-Droid Tri-fighters are shooting more to elevate the danger.
-Entire soundtrack reconstructed. All new music and sound effects.
    -No more buzz droids.
-Added the Star Wars theme at the end - hearkens back to the original adventures.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I do not own anything. I just edited the scene.
The video was originally called "Remastered", but I changed it to "Alternate Fan Edit" because you cannot remaster perfection, as someone has said in the comment section.
Yes, you can use it for your own video. You can credit me if you feel like it.
Do I not like the scene, is that the reason for the edit? No, I was simply bored and had a lot of free time back then. I personally think this version is inferior to the original, as I always have. I just uploaded it, because, why not? Maybe some people think it's better and use it for their own projects or something. I don't expect the stupid and, by the way false comments about me not knowing Star Wars lore to stop after writing this, but hey, if you're reading this, then thanks for having enough intelligence to read the description.

It is supposed to be analogous to ww2 battle of the pacific. Which is a great type of warfare for story telling because individual pilots played such critical roles. In the original post star wars books like the rogue squadron books many of the battle sequences were direct nods to naval battles in the pacific.

Stephen Byrne well, technically, no. Venator-class ships didn't include massive artillery laser cannons in their lower hanger bay, it was actually Anakin's idea. He modified them to have SPHA's (those gigantic laser beam cannons that shoot down the Separatist starship in episode 2) in that section of the hanger. Proved to be very effective, the modifications Anakin added saved at least a few Venator-class ships from certain doom. If you put your playback speed to 0.25, you can actually see an SPHA if you pause a the right moment.

No, it wasn't filler. It's a very brief moment, but it was meant to show Anakin's compassionate side and reluctance to leave his men behind, so that as a character we warm up to him a bit. And paired with Obi Wan's pragmatism and willingness to leave them to die, we see the difference with where their heads are at.

Fairly impressive, although I think that the color filters on the laser beams and ships were unnecessary, and that bunch of voices from the beginning of the clone wars movie would have been better suited for when the Jedi star fighters dive into the fray and start flying through the battle; it better encapsulates the chaos around them

    • @darthknightwingphoenix2081
      @darthknightwingphoenix2081 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Covenant of Legions a sense of mystery is not what Star Wars is about, it's about wars being fought across a galaxy with advanced technology. And for a series which is about war, they never seriously pondered the philosophy of said wars until The Clone Wars series. For them to at least try to paint a picture of how chaotic the war, or at least this battle, truly is, is a start, which is why the voices are better used during the battle.

I never noticed that. When Obi-WAN says “let them pass between us” you can hear over the radio: “HERE THEY COME-!!”

You ever noticed how in the very beginning of this scene there is not a single ship under that republican cruiser but when anikan and obi one fly over it all the ships just appear

That always bothered me since it only takes a few seconds for Anakin and Obi Wan to fly over the length of that ship.

It wasn't meant to be taken literally; it's two different moments in time melded together.

Imagine that there is indeed a civilization millions of light years away this far advanced fighting some galactic war as we speak?, remember we humans started out in caves with sticks and stones, fast forward 2020 years and we're in space already, imagine if they had a 5000 or 10,000 year head start? I wish I could be there to see it, that would be so awesome! If there was such a place that was that advanced and they offered you a chance to live in that time, would you do it? I would.

Looks like we were lucky to appear somewhere on the outskirts of the galaxy, because otherwise, taking in account our menthality and history, we'd probably have a lot of problems with aliens. Or maybe now we're under protectorate of some powerful xenophilic empire, which cautiously tries to guide us towards space flights and planet unification. We could even be the last remnants of once powerful space civilization, which was completely destroyed except for small undeveloped colony in Solar system. Who knows...

Sticks and stones? 2020 years ago, we were far from being cavemen. The Roman Empire was expanding to the height of their power, and if the Western Empire had not fallen due to factors like political decline and external invasion, they could have had an industrial revolution 1500 years sooner! They had achieved a theoretical understanding of steam power, and had all the tools and understanding they needed to create the first steam engine; they had flush toilets like we have today; and they pioneered and created many of the surgical tools and practices we still use in modern medicine.
Granted we were set back into the "Dark Ages" after the Roman Empire fell, we still had Toledo Steel being manufactured for swords, and still had some level of sanitation, concrete, wheelbarrows; and some pretty advanced empires in the east, in Mesopotamia and China.

Humans have actually existed for about 200,000 years. The date we use now is just the amount of years since Jesus was supposedly born, hence 2020 A.D. (in the year of the lord)
