Long analysis on one tiny detail: Thank you for analyzing the fact that this scene DOES incorporate Luffy's pain. For some reason, when people remember this scene, they seem to completely dismiss Luffy's involvement, simply because he's unconscious. When, in reality, Luffy's pain was so immense, even Zoro couldn't fathom it. It really is such a huge reveal because this isn't a one time thing. If you go back, this has been present since the very beginning of the series. In Bartie and Arlong, he literally beats his body bloody and then either sleeps or laughs it off, as if he isn't enduring any pain. We get brief flashes in the midst of the battle but he largely pretends it doesn't effect him. In Alabasta, he sleeps for 3 days straight after fighting Crocodile, which isn't normal, even for him. In Ennis Lobby, he's shown doing the same again, sleeping while eating. While I greatly enjoy the symbolism of Zoro, it bothers me that everyone ignores the symbolism this has for Luffy, of him protecting his crew not only physically but even emotionally, by never showing them how much pain he's in. Zoro can't help but scream and writhe in pain at just a taste of it, yet Luffy slept and internalized that pain as if everything was fine, enduring it without hesitation. I love Zoro in this moment. He's great, amazing! It's a wonderful moment for him and I won't take away from that anymore. This moment is one of his best moments and truly defined his character in a beautiful way.
Yeah and when talking to his crew through the mirror when fighting Katakuri, Luffy holds in his pain so they won’t hear him struggling that was leader vibes AF
YES and it shows clearly the difference in power level that a lot get confused saying they both are the same Which maybe true from “strength” perspective But add “endurance” to it and luffy wins hands out
@@mayarek11 I think it's the opposite. Luffy was knocked out and zoro was already heavily injured, the fact that zoro was still somehow conscious after he took all of luffys pain just shows that zoros endurance is on the same level as luffys. I think luffy and zoro are equals in endurance but luffy has the edge on strenght. At least at that point in the story anyways.
@@houmihm I love the comment but when people mention the fact that zoro was still standing after luffy was knocked out you got to understand if Luffy still felt like he had to keep protecting his friends i don't think he wouldve of got knocked. I think his body would have gave up before he did just like in marineford but when the battle is somewhat done or what he thinks he needs to do is done he goes to sleep but I think if he felt like he needed to keep fighting he wouldve and zoro understands that and understands luffy does this without hesitation it complaint making that iconic line hit so hard "its nothing"
Nami’s “Help me” im sure is on a lot of peoples lists. But, what made that scene for me was right before when she learns that everyone on her island acted like they hated her, so she would just give up in them and be free. But, as the situation was, the last thing they could do was essentially commit suicide. A) Because they didnt want to live like that anymore. B) Giving nothing for Nami to be attached to the island anymore.
My favorite is when the desks & papers are falling from her room as Luffy's fighting Arlong and she just starts crying and covers her mouth "...Arigatou.." Then , in the same episode, Luffy says "Nami, you are my friend!!!" ... Instantly made me fall in love with One Piece. The #1 episode ever to me.
Arlong park shown a lot of luffy then people think about, him stepping back and not doing anything when Nami tells him not too, luffy not caring about what happened to Nami in the past and of course destroying the part of Arlong Park that Nami hated the most, this all shows the extent luffy would go for his crewmates and this was early on
The best scenes Zoro takes Luffys pain, Zoro scares monet shitless, Zoro speech to Luffy about Usopp leaving, Zoro cuts Mr. 1, Zoros Yonko speech, Zoro saving Sanji at thriller bark, Zoro betting on his luck with Kitesu, Zoro enraged at Eneru for attacking Robin, Zoro promises to never lose again, Zoro uses Asura, Zoro one shots Hody underwater.
*Tommy* Coby called them IDIOTS for their pointless continuation of killing The Whitebeard Pirates when they no longer needed to do so. The World Government are as bad as the criminals they put in Impel Down.
That scene was my favorite. The entire theme of saying what you truly want to say despite adversity in the face of your OWN comrades. It goes further than Robin truly wanting to say how she felt at Ennies Lobby but rather knowing how you feel and but being afraid to tell even your "Friends" and risking being ostracized.
Jimbe returning big mom’s cup of sake and declaring luffy his captain and future pirate king has to be one of the most badass moments I love. Please make it happen :)
AAAA just reading this and remembering the whole scene sent shivers down my spine! because we've seen how Big Mom has killed and taken years of life of people and when it goes to Jimbei it doesn't affect him because a Yonko cannot compare to the King of pirates, AAAAAAAAA it's so good I need to watch that scene again
@@areswalker5647 oh just wait till he fights whos who you gone love jimbei if you dont already after his bad ass entrance this arc otw to kaidos island
The part where Zoro realizes how big the bubble truly was and how much pain Luffy was enduring every arc like you pointed out, was definitely one of my favorite parts of this already amazing scene.
I just saw this scene yesterday and I was insulted that Kuma would think a taste of Luffy’s pain would make Zoro run. Like, no! He got a TINY taste of how much Luffy sacrifices for others, you think he’s so low that he’d refuse to suffer for Luffy back?! Oh, I just got SO MAD. I love Zoro’s character so much, such a seamless blend of silly and chivalrous and badass and sweet. *disgruntlement*
Love the idea of the series. You missed the contrast between zoro now and at the start of the series (I'll kill you if you get in my way Vs I'll die for Luffy). Don't be too concerned about the length of the video and trying to trim it down (just something I feel like you do a bit) because I'll happily sit through 20-30 minutes of analysis if it's good.
If even one of them were not to be there Luffy could never become the king of the Pirates it doesn't matter who it is if not for chopper some of them or all of them might have been dead already and without Franky's ship they couldn't sail the grand lines like they can and Nico Robin is the only one who could decipher the poneglyphs and Usopp Sanji Zoro I don't even need to mention them and same with Nami without navigator its impossible for them to travel in the grandline and Jinbei saved Luffy in the marine ford arc and Brook as well he brought one of the 4 road poneglyphs for him and so much more....
Totally agree. When Whitebeard shouted that half of me was wincing from a strategic sense and the other half marked in hysteria at the death of a legend.... with those words, he ensured that while the WG may have won the battle, they were only granted a pyrrhic victory. With those words, he carried on Roger's will and reinvigorated the One Piece world.
This is also one of my favorite Robin moments. From being the only one not to be hilariously flustered and take Kuma seriously, to not shouting "never" (rather saying it with her actions) with the others, to her hilariously straight-faced cartoonish imagination of cat-paws, and facing down Kuma's blast without showing a hint of fear or regret, and her using her devil-fruit to listen in on a private conversation to know what Zoro did and simply saying "Now I know" to herself while smiling. These are all awesome moments that really play well to compliment Robin's character against the rest of the cast as the most serious, aware, and emotionally mature member of the crew who remains calm while the others freak out or act stupid for comedic sake (before the Wano arc ruined it by making her do that ugly face-fault after Luffy's capture). Robin is great because of moments like this. They distinguish her and add a level of maturity and grace to the crew that they're missing, without being a foil to their silliness by always supporting and laughing at their childish antics. She's the member that proves you don't have to by silly or immature or weird to have dreams and enjoy adventures. When Luffy declared war on Big Mom, she just laughed while everyone else freaked out. And when everyone else yelled out that they'd never betray Luffy, she stayed silent because she didn't even need to say it. And it's a real shame there aren't more moments like these to appreciate what an awesome person she is after the time-skip, and they're taking away the things about her that make her unique to the crew.
Great idea for a series. When people talk about when they realized One Piece meant something special for them it's always because of one of these moments
It's not only these moments, it's also the great humor Oda implementing in the series, the abstract character design, the incredible world building, the suspense created by mysterious dialogues and of course: the values he teaches us through the protagonists.
What I love the most about this scene is that it fundamentally change's Zoro's perspective of Luffy. Zoro offered his life to save Luffy because he was hos friend, he didn't necessarily saw him as the strongest of the crew, he viewed HIMSELF as the strongest. But after experiencing his pain and suffering... He's not only now eternally linked to Luffy (as he literally felt the same suffering as him), but he understands from this point forward the difference between them
One of my favourite moments is definitely Usopp's speech in Enies Lobby to Luffy to motivate him getting back up. The intense music, INCREDIBLE VOICE ACTING, character animations are so good! "Even though there's nothing but smoke above us, we can still see the sky! We can see the sea! This isn't hell! Don't look like you're about to die, you jerk!!!" Then Luffy barely standing back up, replying with "I know... This isn't hell or anything.." The awesome ost of Luffy vs Ratchet starts to play. Usopp crying "DEFEAT HIM! THEN WE'LL GO BACK TOGETHER LUFFY!!!" "OF COURSE!!!" or "ATARI MAEDA!!!" still send shivers down my spine. The fact that Usopp unmasked himself, crying to see his friend almost dying, starting off by lying about not wanting to see Luffy anyways but ended up saying "we'll go back together luffy!" revealing his true self. This was the perfect climax for Usopp's storyline from W7 to EL and the perfect motivator for Luffy. The friend he thought he would never see again after their fight but now he's here, telling him not to die T^T
I feel like this scene also draws a parallel between Zoro and Whitebeard. They both enter a battle expecting to die (though Zoro barely survives). They both end it bloodied but standing up. They both do it for someone they believe will become the pirate king. And most importantly: they're both really badass.
@@_joeythegoat_ well I know him, that why I'm confused on the belief thing. Zorro follows Luffy, meanwhile whiteboard follows rocks. Then after the whole war with gold d Roger, becomes separate like the other yonko.
@@Luffy-of7dk huh yes?. I mean it was revealed that whiteboard was in rocks crew. The only reason why that crew failed was because they weren't nakamas
Zoro's "Nothing Happened" is still the best in my opinion. It actually still sends shivers down my spine every time, as it shows just how powerful his will to live and his loyalty to his captain and crew is. In my opinion he is easily the best character in the show. Robin's "I want to live" is a big one. The moment where she finally breaks her reserved facade and lets her real emotions poor out for the crew to see is just really powerful. And then there is Going Merry's "To the ocean"... Most people have said the saddest part of One Piece is when Going Merry died, and they can't help but cry at his funeral, but I have never cried about the way he died... I cry because of the way he chose to live his last moments. When he shows up to rescue the crew at the "To the Ocean" scene, I lose it every time. That ship was a Warrior, and he proved it to the very end.
My favorite moment? "I want to live!" Its a moment where I truly became a worshiper with one piece storytelling. I was a silly boy who only cared for cool looking battles but the entirety of robin made me care for world building, politics and culture in stories.
Zoro and The Strawhats vs Oars shows that Zoro will to fight for the Crew and Lead when Luffy not around and Zoro vs Kuma shows Zoro's Sacrifice for his captain, Luffy. Thriller Bark cleverly showed two sides of Zoro 's role in the story. Which gives me high hope for his role in Wano. Zoro follows Luffy because of Ambition not power. Their Dreams lines up together and the brotherhood are form on the battlefields across vast seas of their world. Zoro is Luffy's "Sword" so I acknowledge him as Pirate King's Sword. Zoro is clearly my favorite character then it Luffy. And this Great Videos prove it to be true. Thank You O'hara
Interesting ideal series, *Ohara.* The "NOTHING HAPPENED!" scene was a cobblestone of what One Piece shows thanks to the brilliant mind of Oda. Zoro showed that he cared for Luffy and the crew. He's shown loyalty even to possible death. P.S: The "I WANT TO LIVE!" (ENIES LOBBY ARC) scene can be explored amongst others.
@@MrZuga89 That's a good one. The revelation of the Mink Tribe being so close with the Kozuki Family was a heart beat that still makes me moist in my eyes. *Sniff* GOD, I love the Minks.
Not my favorite, but one of the best narrative moments imo that many tend to overlook is when Big Mom eats the other kids and Mother Caramel. The sheer contrast of the happy BM and the atrocity she committed is fantastic. The fact that she doesn't understand until this day what's happened and how they "abandoning" her shaped how she is makes her character one of the most convoluted characters ever created. Throughout the whole flashback we're following this odd group and asking ourselves what could have happened for them to leave BM, then Mother Caramel is revealed to sell kids and we're made believe that'll be the outcome of BM's story, the good old WG doing sh!t. But Oda subverts it masterfully, pulling one creepy and disturbed thing. I still remember the panel where it shows a zoom out of the island, and the "sound effects" katakana change from laughs to screams and cries, it was shocking.
This scene makes me cry uncontrollably. Hands down my favorite zoro moment of all time. In fact, after this episode my respect for zoro and the rest of the crew grew immensely. Not even an ounce of hesitation.
The character development is fabulous, from sanji and zoro. We had seen how sanji tells zoro and luffy to give up their dreams in the baratie, and now came to sacrifice his life, imposing something more important on her. The same with zoro, his character until now had as a priority the dream of being the best swordsman, of having as his main objective his improvement without caring too much about who accompanied him or where he was going. His strong development as a brother of luffy and vice-captain responsible (already seen for example, in water 7) is noted. And brook as a new character of the crew, "absorbs" all this very well, which serves to connect us more with him as we get closer to the new world. How the crew solidifies was always the main objective of oda, to the point that when we see luffy remembering everyone with jinbei, our soul breaks.
Something I have rarely seen mentioned about this scene is WHY Zoro is just standing there. Zoro's bizarre sleeping patterns are used as a joke several times but it is because he is the one who stands guard when the rest of the crew is indisposed. So after enduring the suffering of his captain and saving the life of his rival, he sees that nobody is able to defend themselves and STAYS CONSCIOUS while they rest in order to stand guard over his resting crew and comrades.
@@Ohara-the-Fox great video , watched this scene 100 times but it was today I realized how serious this situation is and how sanjis character trade kindness shines, for him its most important to protect the dreams of Zorro and luffy because they are so important for them. all in all u mentioned the themes perfectly well done
I love when Zoro says, I don’t pray to anything above my head. He was always a conqueror. I love when Sanji talks crap to Crocodile and calls himself Mr. Prince. Oda has always done great foreshadowing by giving the characters such great Psychology.
This is a smaller moment but it's my absolutely favorite call back in all of One Piece: When it turns out the celestial dragon Queen Otohime saved was Mjolsgard who in turn saved Shirahoshi. It's my favorite moment of things coming full circle because it proves that Otohime was right, the suffering of Fishman Island was not in vain.
Enjoyed every minute of this. Please continue this series! As someone who started as anime only and is doing a rewatch currently, I can see this brings more depth to the anime and makes the experience more enjoyable for the fan. Great work my friend 🙏🏿
Great idea for a video series. I have to add something that I feel you missed out in your analysis and surprised me that you did. The moment Zoro bowed down and offered his life in exchange for Luffy and the crew is the moment Zoro's character grew exponentially. Its the very first time Zoro puts his dream aside openly declaring that he is willing to die here for the people he grew to care for than carry on his dream. Zoro openly declared to Mihawk, Luffy and everyone present back in Baratie that he wont lose again until he becomes the best swordsman in the world, he also openly said to his opponents in several of his fights that if he dies "here", that's how far he was able to go. He always carried himself with an air of arrogance when it came to combat ability. But in this scene Zoro openly admits that he is willing to put his life aside not for his goal, but for his friends. He shows true humility and for the first time he becomes something more than just a stoic, hard boiled person with one goal in mind, he truly shows that he has found a family in the Strawhats and a brother to Luffy, as you yourself pointed out. His promise to his dead friend is not as important anymore as preserving the life of his living family, and even though that might be apparent by many of his actions prior to this moment, this is the defining moment that it is openly declared and the character stands by it. And all this extremely emotional scene for Zoro is done in an almost oblivious fashion to the rest of the crew, save for Sanji(and I think Brook). Like every other scene that involves Zoro and his more emotional side, Oda makes sure the crew doesn't know while the reader does. None of the crew knows the backstory of Zoro. Now in his, greatest sacrifice so far, almost none of the crew knows. I dont know if his is deliberate by Oda but there is certainly a pattern of slowly unraveling Zoro to the crew.
very good point! I think in general there was a lot of room to go into even more depth with this all, but I didn't want to low the video out of proportion on the first try. Maybe I should though haha
I really believe that from this particular scene is one of the reasons (and maybe the main reason) why Zorro now much more serious and trying so hard to be the best swordsman for Luffy's sake. From this scene, we were shown that Kuma expelled every pain, fear, and suffering that Luffy had to endure during this arc. I bet when Zorro first try to feel that pain, he realky felt every emotional and physical pain and suffering that Luffy had. Also considering with the tragedy that Luffy had to endure in his youth (being Sabo's death) and his fear of losing his crewmates, Zorro now knows what his captain to endure during this arc.
Me too, but Ace's death has a shocking effect rather than an "emotional" one per se. I mean, he was free. The objective of It all had been reached. They won. Except they didn't.
I will third that. My wife got to it for the first time. It's probably the third time she really seen me cry in our 5 years of living together. I've seen it 50 times by now and it ALWAYS makes me cry.
Franky's "clutch" scene was pretty moving. It was pretty funny to watch him be in so much pain from Robin's clutch until you realize she only did it once and he was using it as an excuse to cry
This scene indicates a lot of things. But most popularly indicates the fact that those who hate Zoro because they like Sanji and vice versa are complete fools. Those two never show it. They never will. But they somewhere respect and trust each other more than any pair of characters in the series. When their captain steps in for his crew, placing himself in danger, these are the pillars that hold high their captain's dreams. The moment where Sanji was standing between Zoro and Kuma to the point where Zoro pushed him aside and took the pain not only shows their resolution. They have their own dreams, and they would do everything to achieve that. But the fact that they are ready to sacrifice themselves just shows hiw much they understand and value each other. So the push Zoro gives Sanji is not a mere push, that is the shove of belief, belief that the crew shall live, their captain shall live, and his dreams shall live even if Zoro is gone, cause Sanji shall live. That is the position they hold for each other.
I am close to tears everytime i see this iconic scene. It's so powerful! Sometimes i wish Luffy would find out what Zoro did for him... but on the other hand... nothing happened. Nothing at all... Edit: Great new format! I already love these scene analysis! I'm excited for more!
This is Zoro in a nutshell. He protects everyone because he feels he needs to. He doesn't want no gratitude. He just wants to keep everyone safe. He is the protector.
For me the best scene as I was reading skypiea arc when luffy rings the golden bell and his shadow reflects upon the cloud and everyone so emotional the shandain warriors, cloud people and mont blac cricket in the blue sea also Bellamy too now knows that sky Island exists.
Keep it rolling Ohara! I loved this. Breaking down the amount of foreshadowing and symbolism and so on is something I did not pick up, even though I've seen this scene countless times too. You're a legend. More please :)
I love how One Piece has so many of these moments that it's almost impossible to choose just one favorite. Hats off to Oda for blessing us with this masterpiece.
One great aspect of this scene to me is the special relationship between Zoro and Sanji which is build since the very beginning of the anime. They fake antagonism but they strongly care for each other. To me one of the thing that makes this scene important is that it's only Sanji whom is deeply worried about Zoro and that it's sanji alone that discovered Zoro covered with blood in a mix of relieve that he is not dead and panic that he is roughly damaged. The scene is that strong because we live it through sanji's eye we can feel he's concern, is fear about zoro's state because unlike him we do not known at this point what happened to zoro Even when he found him he ask "are you still alive?" Beside when Sanji go looking for Zoro Brook see him go and maybe realize what it means to be part of the crew.
This moment gave me chills when I first watched it and when I read it. And especially since it accentuates the relationship between the Strawhats, especially between Luffy and Zoro (and a lesser extent Sanji too) and the fact that the injury done to Zoro has such long lasting consequences, which culminates on Sabaody, it’s just something that sticks with me.
I would like to ad that the line is actually often misquoted. "It's nothing happened, understood!" in both the manga and the anime. This shows that while this wasn't a feat that Zoro easily withstood as many people misinterpret, but that he really didn't want Luffy to know what happened, as Sanji later explained.
Love the new format, very wise thoughts on the cinematic aspects that were used to add to the impact, I hadn't noticed those elements before. Whenever I think about this scene I get goosebumps, it's a great point in Zoro's story arc, from only being willing to join up if it didn't interrupt his dream then later swearing never to lose again and then this huge sacrifice moment. Love Zoro. I had a big mug of coffee and this was the perfect accompaniment.
I love how loyal they are to each other. When given the choice of letting Luffy die so they can live they all instantly choose death without a second thought. Not even just Luffy, they'd all sacrifice themselves for each other.
im gonna say it now, the "nothing happened" of the new world is going to be the "At sea, you deal with pirates". or a scene of a certain man holding 9 certain people in a certain pot. if you know you know.
I love this. I love this concept. There are so many reasons that a moment is impactful and you did a very good job breaking up the parts to explain why the sum of the parts is something so special to lovers of this story. Please keep up the good work! Can't wait for the next one.
This one of my memorable scene of onepiece i even uses that photo of zoro standing with blood everywhere as a laptop wallpaper for some time back when i was a kid. Another one of the memorable scene was when Robin shouted to luffy and and his crew that she wants to live and then luffy asked eusoff to burn the marine flag announcing war against the government. This is also the arc where luff learned first gear where hw sacrifices some spans of his life just so he can protect his crew. One of the best arc imo.
I just realized that for a lot of the crew, the moment when they verbalize the fact that *Luffy will become King of the Pirates* is either before, during or after enduring a great amount of pain/danger. Because the dream of their Captain is just much more important than those lowly terrestrial concerns
Great video! Love that I found this channel. One of my favorites on TH-cam now. Honestly, I always feel like your videos don't run long, but they typically run longer than anything else I watch outside of maybe one other channel. I think that just speaks to how good your content is and how well your voice sounds.
I've always wanted this format to exist somewhere out there. But I think it eventually could be interesting to shine light on some of the more underrated moments in One Piece, and why they are so special. One in particular that always comes to mind for me, is when Garp returns from the war and Dadan is waiting for him. For some reason, that moment has always hit me like a ton of bricks. Such a powerful moment, and such brilliant writing. It's in my top 5 powerful moments in One Piece. But nothing will ever top "Nothing happened".
The scene of Luffy charging against Don Krieg on the Baratie and Zeff describing what type of person Luffy is, how it foreshadows everything to come. And showing Sanji what type of captain he could dream to see as well as follow. Of course the punch he gives Don Krieg right as he charges across how Luffy ask him if it's his grave, or is it Kriegs. That scene really set the tone for me, for the entire rest of the series as to what type of person Luffy was going to become. Also why Sanji looks up to Luffy and Zoro so much. As well as the competition between Zoro and Sanji, who will be the right hand man. The scene's give me chills every time I think of them. Zoro and Sanji both got to see epic moments from Luffy separately, cementing the rivalry early on in the story. It's one of the moments I can think of right away that is one of the greatest in One Piece. Both as a foreshadowing and character relationships between Sanji, Zoro and Luffy. Of course I can think of so many other epic moments as well! My favorite comedic moments either is the one were Luffy makes fun of his crew mates by imitating them. Or when the Straw Hats fly off of Skypiea and Conis just saying "Heso" as they fall and them panicking. That scene had me in tears laughing!
YES!! please continue.. it's great and new.. I would have added the perspective of how it reveals the depth between Sanji and Zorro .. they both for the first time treat each other with the up most respect... underneath the arguments there is this at its core... they are like to proud brothers always fighting ... but God help you if you threaten them to the extent they recognise that threat as bigger then their rivalry
Many people forget about Sanji in this scene.Great job as always.Keep that series running. Its very interesting. And have a Greek cold coffee to cool you down.
For me this is the proof, that in reality Zoro and Sanji are best friends. While Zoro is a Brother to luffy, Lysopp is luffys "best friend" who he could good around with the most. But deep down in their mind, I think sanji and zoro are best friends and they care a lot for each other. I hope we will see this in the future a little bit more.
I had a lot of thoughts running through my head watching the scene... On the surface it was about Zoros absolute loyalty to the captain But I wondered why he knocked Sanji out I figured it's one of two things 1. Zoro knows that Sanji is strong but he felt that Sanji would never be able to bare the burden what came next 2.He did it because he felt that it was his burden alone seeing as he is Luffy's second mate and naturally it would be his responsibility alone and his duty to protect the crew fulfilling his role as second mate considering he takes being a pirate very seriously
What an amazing analysis of one of the most amazing scenes in One Piece. Videos like these make me love this anime even more then i already do. Cant wait for more !
One moment that i really love and dont se the community talking a Lot is marrie going up to the sky Island. The ship flew and the people Just remember its death.
One of my favorite scenes is the farewell of chopper by dr.kureha when she made the mountains look like sakura trees...it always brings tears in my eyes whenever I watch it and I don't know how many times I've watched it.
I love when zoro took Luffy's pain. It was also the first time he solely took on a 7 sea warlord on his own before anyone else besides luffy. It was emotional and hype. I thought someone would die or a new character would come and help, but it was just zoro being a badass. Zoro is my favorite character in OP.
I feel like Zoro unlocked asura during that time bargaining his soul kinda like a warlock or becoming its mortal champion to avoid death. I would say nothing happened too if i was him.
2 most iconic “nothing happened” and the bar . “ zoro no matter what don’t fight back “ I cried both these times but all happy smiles. If this isn’t love idk what is . To lay down your life for your friend .. it’s a beautiful thing
My favorite scene was when zoro asks to respect their captain in water seven arc Its hurts to leave ussop but its soo true that even sanji agrees first time in his life with zoro. It was badass, classic and respectable at the same time. "The crew would be better without someone who doesn't show respect for this guy." "A crew that looses respect for thier captain, is sure to collapse. Listen!, You can act easy going as you usually do but, Even for an instant, the guy who is my leader lets others step over him, Next time it is me who will leave this crew"
Another smaller part of this scene I'd like to point out is the moment Sanji attacks Kuma, not only is it ineffective, Sanji falls down hurt from it. Zoro sees this and is shocked, because I think it registers to Zoro just how big of a threat Kuma is to them. Zoro and Sanji are Luffy's wings, they trust each other fully, for one to have the other's back. Zoro knows and respects Sanji's strength, so the moment he falls down, Zoro understands that they do not stand a chance at defeating Kuma, which is part of why he ends up offering his own life instead
Thank you for not just going "Top 10 Once Piece moments!" or something like that. I would *not* have watched the video if you'd done that. Really hate clickbait lol. Respect, man!
dude i really like ur videos respect from turkey! btw the new format is nice too... i mean generally the info u gather is solid so i think it would work in most of the formats u would try in the future! thanks for the good stuff peace.
Zoro is just like Rayleigh. When they first met Zoro wanted nothing to do with Luffy and pirating, same with Rayleigh. So this scene is so impact full because I think about Rayleigh's loyalty to Roger as a vice captain just like Zoro
Been wishing more people would analyze the big events. So glad this was your first one. I have so many thoughts on it as well. Mostly that, while the crew respected Luffy, none truly realized the level he was going to. However, his right hand man now knows fully and holds it to himself, preventing sympathy amongst the crew. Sympathy that could break them apart. If the emotional characters realized the level of sacrifice Luffy was enduring, they'd likely break away out of guilt. Phenomenal job.
I literally just finished re watching... And getting goosebumps.. Fav for me is when Luffy stops Usopp from asking Rayleigh bout the One Piece.. Goosies
I love One Piece so much.

Find myself thinking the same thing a lot

Zoro can't help but scream and writhe in pain at just a taste of it, yet Luffy slept and internalized that pain as if everything was fine, enduring it without hesitation. I love Zoro in this moment. He's great, amazing! It's a wonderful moment for him and I won't take away from that anymore. This moment is one of his best moments and truly defined his character in a beautiful way.
Yeah and when talking to his crew through the mirror when fighting Katakuri, Luffy holds in his pain so they won’t hear him struggling that was leader vibes AF
YES
and it shows clearly the difference in power level that a lot get confused saying they both are the same
Which maybe true from “strength” perspective
But add “endurance” to it and luffy wins hands out
Luffy's bounce back game is strong
Yeah, I think that is my favorite line. It's just so real.
My favorite is when the desks & papers are falling from her room as Luffy's fighting Arlong and she just starts crying and covers her mouth "...Arigatou.."
Then , in the same episode, Luffy says "Nami, you are my friend!!!" ... Instantly made me fall in love with One Piece. The #1 episode ever to me.
Arlong park shown a lot of luffy then people think about, him stepping back and not doing anything when Nami tells him not too, luffy not caring about what happened to Nami in the past and of course destroying the part of Arlong Park that Nami hated the most, this all shows the extent luffy would go for his crewmates and this was early on
Abysslz absolutely. This went really far early on to show how luffy doesnt care about the details, but people’s character. Masterclass
The best scenes Zoro takes Luffys pain, Zoro scares monet shitless, Zoro speech to Luffy about Usopp leaving, Zoro cuts Mr. 1, Zoros Yonko speech, Zoro saving Sanji at thriller bark, Zoro betting on his luck with Kitesu, Zoro enraged at Eneru for attacking Robin, Zoro promises to never lose again, Zoro uses Asura, Zoro one shots Hody underwater.

That was cool and all... But whitebeard dying standing up was fucking hype
@@mentalpopcorn2304 true true
Mines would be the fucking hit whitebeard gave admiral akuiza after ace died
Totally agree. When Whitebeard shouted that half of me was wincing from a strategic sense and the other half marked in hysteria at the death of a legend.... with those words, he ensured that while the WG may have won the battle, they were only granted a pyrrhic victory. With those words, he carried on Roger's will and reinvigorated the One Piece world.
Shanks in that arc was the most hype. Bar none
When people talk about when they realized One Piece meant something special for them it's always because of one of these moments
for me it was when zoro fought mihawk and lost and said he would never lose again.
for me it was never i can drop this shit in a heart beat
@@zaidhasnain9192 Oh yes. I love that scene. Or the one of Nami asking Luffy for help so her village can finally be free from the Arlong tyranny.
It's not only these moments, it's also the great humor Oda implementing in the series, the abstract character design, the incredible world building, the suspense created by mysterious dialogues and of course: the values he teaches us through the protagonists.
@@AstorThalis Yes. One Piece is like Oda's view of our world within this fictional one. Is so believable (IMO) that you can't look away.
THEN WE'LL GO BACK TOGETHER LUFFY!!!"
"OF COURSE!!!" or "ATARI MAEDA!!!" still send shivers down my spine.
Hmm whitebeard?

"I want to live!"
Its a moment where I truly became a worshiper with one piece storytelling.

Got the shivers reading this. It really was an extremely strong scene
That scene was so disturbing. Still gives me goosebumps
I love that moment because its not explicitly telling us what happened, rather what we might have witnessed. Loved the backstory in general a lot.
Must admit, watcher, someday I may read it.
But when my friends and I first watched this episode, we were aghast.
All we had to say was "she ate them"
You know who Mother Caramel reminds me of? Mother Theresa. She also was into child trafficking.
Just rewatched the scene 10 minutes before upload how convinient
very convenient indeed! How did I know??
@@Ohara-the-Fox great video , watched this scene 100 times but it was today I realized how serious this situation is and how sanjis character trade kindness shines, for him its most important to protect the dreams of Zorro and luffy because they are so important for them. all in all u mentioned the themes perfectly well done
Luffy:“Jimbei!........ even if you die, don‘t die“
„Raizo is alive“
The Raizo one caught me completely off-guard
I love when Zoro says, I don’t pray to anything above my head. He was always a conqueror. I love when Sanji talks crap to Crocodile and calls himself Mr. Prince. Oda has always done great foreshadowing by giving the characters such great Psychology.
Woah, I’ve never thought about "Mr. Prince" since knowing Sanji’s family!

Appreciate it my man! 🦊
This scene literally touched my soul.
Also Robin dropping her 'walls' and finally admitting that she wants to live 🤧
@@Ohara-the-Fox I would love more depth. Also love the series, keep it up.
A one piece fact about me:
I cried more for a ship than the main characters brother.
Im more angry than sad, becuz after all luffy's hard work still his brother died, and kinda sad a little cause thats his brother
Well, i got spoiled about Ace and also about the ship but i cried when they burnt the Merry but i didn't cry when Ace died
About the boat yeah i cried a river, cause i witness the adventure of Merry with the crew so i feel the pain of losing a friend
The title for this episode of the anime is also very fitting. “The pain of my nakama is my pain, Zoro’s desperate fight”
I am close to tears everytime i see this iconic scene. It's so powerful! Sometimes i wish Luffy would find out what Zoro did for him... but on the other hand... nothing happened. Nothing at all...

I love how One Piece has so many of these moments that it's almost impossible to choose just one favorite.
Hats off to Oda for blessing us with this masterpiece.
Aye! Oda hit me when it really moved me across One Piece. And more will come.
The scene is that strong because we live it through sanji's eye we can feel he's concern, is fear about zoro's state because unlike him we do not known at this point what happened to zoro
Even when he found him he ask "are you still alive?"
Beside when Sanji go looking for Zoro Brook see him go and maybe realize what it means to be part of the crew.
Moment #5 made my neighbour sell his dog!!!

Can't wait to see what it is
This moment gave me chills when I first watched it and when I read it.
This analysis gets you my subscription. There aren’t enough videos like this. Well done, can’t wait to see the rest of the series.

I just realized that for a lot of the crew, the moment when they verbalize the fact that *Luffy will become King of the Pirates* is either before, during or after enduring a great amount of pain/danger. Because the dream of their Captain is just much more important than those lowly terrestrial concerns
*Natural Hypertrophy* This is a wonderful crew and incredible friends.
Great video! Love that I found this channel. One of my favorites on TH-cam now.
Honestly, I always feel like your videos don't run long, but they typically run longer than anything else I watch outside of maybe one other channel. I think that just speaks to how good your content is and how well your voice sounds.
I think the punching of Celestial dragon by luffy has to be one of the best scene for the sheer amount of emotion it generates.
The most iconic is the part where they had to say goodbye to Merry and actually converse with the ship’s spirit...
I would have added the perspective of how it reveals the depth between Sanji and Zorro .. they both for the first time treat each other with the up most respect... underneath the arguments there is this at its core... they are like to proud brothers always fighting ... but God help you if you threaten them to the extent they recognise that threat as bigger then their rivalry
good point! It definitely revealed how much the 2 respect and love each other in reality
This is a great way to relive important moments in the series, thanks!
Many people forget about Sanji in this scene.Great job as always.Keep that series running. Its very interesting. And have a Greek cold coffee to cool you down.
Thank you very much! I should really grab one of those freddo coffee makers
@@Ohara-the-Fox Man just mix your espresso in a shaker with a lot of ice and you're good.
On the surface it was about Zoros absolute loyalty to the captain
But I wondered why he knocked Sanji out
I figured it's one of two things
1. Zoro knows that Sanji is strong but he felt that Sanji would never be able to bare the burden what came next
2.He did it because he felt that it was his burden alone seeing as he is Luffy's second mate and naturally it would be his responsibility alone and his duty to protect the crew fulfilling his role as second mate considering he takes being a pirate very seriously
What an amazing analysis of one of the most amazing scenes in One Piece. Videos like these make me love this anime even more then i already do. Cant wait for more !
One moment that i really love and dont se the community talking a Lot is marrie going up to the sky Island. The ship flew and the people Just remember its death.
one of my favourite moments!!
that was the moment i was really hooked and knew i loved OP love jaya so much
One of my favorite scenes is the farewell of chopper by dr.kureha when she made the mountains look like sakura trees...it always brings tears in my eyes whenever I watch it and I don't know how many times I've watched it.
I loved Luffy punching that Celestial dragon and Luffy's "Nami you're free!" after destroying Arlong park
The new format is just great! Hope to see more soon.
best bday present i love ur videos lmao :)
Love the format, so much better than the lists out there. I wept almost through the entire vid.
Isn't Mihawk a warlord? Cause Zoro took him on in the first season lmao
Awesome video man! You did a really great job analysis this scene. One of my all time favorites in the series!
Ussop and luffys fight when luffy "abandons" the Merry. Not even the fight really, the part when luffy acknowledged Ussop. That was powerful
Love the new format!!! Absolutely wonderful work. Can’t wait to see the rest of your new series
I feel like Zoro unlocked asura during that time bargaining his soul kinda like a warlock or becoming its mortal champion to avoid death. I would say nothing happened too if i was him.
He used ashura before that tho?
@@MMORPGFreaky true dat he could have doubled down on whatever deal he made
2 most iconic “nothing happened” and the bar . “ zoro no matter what don’t fight back “ I cried both these times but all happy smiles. If this isn’t love idk what is . To lay down your life for your friend .. it’s a beautiful thing
My favorite scene was when zoro asks to respect their captain in water seven arc
Its hurts to leave ussop but its soo true that even sanji agrees first time in his life with zoro.
It was badass, classic and respectable at the same time.
"The crew would be better without someone who doesn't show respect for this guy."
"A crew that looses respect for thier captain, is sure to collapse.
Listen!, You can act easy going as you usually do but,
Even for an instant, the guy who is my leader lets others step over him, Next time it is me who will leave this crew"
I really love how you explained the creative process behind this video
Luffy ringing the bell and doing Ougon rifle on enel was a certified hood classic
dude i really like ur videos respect from turkey! btw the new format is nice too... i mean generally the info u gather is solid so i think it would work in most of the formats u would try in the future! thanks for the good stuff peace.
Goosies
Your vids are soooo good, i could watch them for hours on end. Well done
Thank you so much!
