One Zoro moment that I really loved was when Luffy heard that Usopp wanted to come back to the crew and Luffy was just going to accept him back immediately and Zoro got pissed and told him that they weren’t playing a game and if he was willing to let anyone come and go as they please then he would be the next one to leave the crew. Just showed that Zoro took his position in the crew (unofficial 2nd in command) seriously and was not effing around. He said unless Usopp apologizes and begs to come back that he would never accept him again. Super intense moment and we don’t get enough of those between the crew.
It’s also worth noting that Zoro was genuinely happy when Ussop apologized and returned to the crew. He may come off as cold, but he would put his life on the line for any of the straw hats except maybe Sanji lol.
@@kookiemonster2422 That's a fight. I'm talking about moments outside that. Before the time-skip Zoro time and time again had great moments that had nothing to do with battles. Now it's just a green Kirito.
@@danielcano0201 well, before the timeskip, they weren't battling yonkos. They battled 2 warlords before timeskip and both times, were almost annihilated by another warlord Kuma (but he saved them both times).
Also the fact that zoro stood, watching over his passed out crew, as if protecting AFTER going through that torture. He didn't fall to the floor passed out, he stood and waited for his crew to wake up.
People say they miss Zoro's smile, but we can clearly see why he smiled less and less over the series, that's because he became the strong foundation the crew needed to have to keep it togheter. Zoro prevented Usopp to rejoin the crew without saying sorry, Zoro took Kuma's attack for his captain, Zoro was defeated by any eforts by Mihawk and realized he needed to be more worthy of being onboard of the King of the pirate's ship. What a chad
The reason you have no replies is because half of what you said is right but in a very wrong way. That's all I have to say since I don't like to bother people
I love how sanji right after he wakes up from the beating from kuma and the knock out from zoro he immediately tries to find zoro and when he gets there he tries to act all tuff when he sees zoro standing there thinking zoro beat him or the like and then when he realizes how hurt zoro is he lets go of his pride for a second and worries about him
That's what I love about the rivalry between Sanji and Zoro. They fight, they argue, they're dismissive of each other, and always try and act like their better off without the other. But Despite that, they trust each other's strength. And are among the first to act if the other's in truly bad shape or taken out. You do not mess with this crew.
when luffy broke down in tears in whole cake island when he saw sanji with his siblings and yelled "i can't be the king of the pirates without you". i cried like a baby, it was so well executed! roof piece here we come
I think it would have been nice if there was a more interesting conclusion to whole cake aside from Sanji's sister saving him, but it was SO FUCKING COMPELLING because the crew hadnt faced a threat taking away a crew member like that before.
Oda really knows how to make his characters look awesome when the time is right. When Shanks ended the war without even fighting let's us know that not only is Shanks highly respected, even amongst the highest ranking Marines, they fear him to some extent which is extremely rare. Kizaru and Akainu hesitated. That moment gave me goosebumps cause until that point they were merciless and literally untouchable. But Shank's and his crew made them look like minor threats.
Don’t forget that even Teach/Blackbeard, whomst was on a massive power trip with his two devil fruits, backed down from Shanks and left willingly. It really shows that Shanks isn’t just respected, he’s also insanely powerful to back it up. I could easily see Teach/Blackbeard attacking Shanks and getting mercilessly beaten to a pulp the second he gets close.
I think the biggest part of this and the most heart wrenching part is that zoro only originally agreed to going Luffy as long as it didn’t get in the way of his dream to become the strongest swordsmen, and here we finally see zoro completely willing to give up everything in order to save his friends. We see these moments in every straw hat at some point or another in the story but there’s something about zoros moment that stand out stronger then any other
Yup it’s deep! Zoro’s Demeanor, his actions, sure he cares for the nakama and Luffy but, he’s always serious and isn’t as loud as everyone else, then in that moment he casts all his dreams, his promise aside for his captain!
@@koheletcalaforexclan6508 sounds like robin. Lmao 😂 she literally just wanted a free ride and escape from world government. Then changed her because of water seven event.
Fun fact: Oda has said that Shanks losing his arm didn’t really decrease his strength because shanks was able to adapt to the loss of one arm and create techniques based on his one arm, which allowed him to be just as powerful as he was with 2 hands.
@@erasumus Personal theory/ opinion. I think Shanks was the worlds greatest swordsman before he lost his arm. Afterwards Mihawk claimed the title but is salty because he only got the title with shanks missing an arm.
@@godgod7294 honestly this could be true... we technically don't know if Mihawk held the title of the greatest swordsman when the Strawhats were all younger, seeing as how we only learn about this as early as Baratie, it could've been Shanks.
@@moffutard That's honestly why I want to believe it so much lol It would be interesting to learn where Mihawk got the title from, but with what we have that's the only thing I could think of that would make any kind of sense.
The line "Nothing Happened" is by far one of the most memorable and epic zoro moments in one piece, no doubt about it. But My fav Zoro moment is when he just accepts Mihawk's slash at the fight near Baratie with open arms sayin " A scar on a swordman's back is a shame" knowing fully that he could just die right then and there If Mihawk had wished so, accepting his own fate and defeat. That scene is just burned and etched into my memory forever.
one of my favorite fights. mihawk cut this motherfucker so deep even arlong was questioning how he was still breathing. pretty sure it was said a few times a normal man would’ve died from such a wound, I think mihawk knew after zoro said he’d rather die than be defeated that he would somehow survive no matter what
The line just before that where mihawk asks him why doesn't he retreat after he stabbed him with the small knife and Zoro replies "If I step back it feels like it would be the death of my dream." And Mihawk replies "Yes, that is what defeat is." is pretty cold as well.
What sold me at the end of this arc is when no one was willing to hand over Luffy. Like some of the other pirates on the island don't know Luffy and his crew, but are willing to sacrifice their own lives for the captain who set them free. The unanimous, resounding "no" was another powerful moment. This show is awesome
Could you imagine moria finally reaching the last island with his mindless zombies and the fucking one piece is "the treasure is the friends you made along the way!" Like broooo lmao 🤣
Admittedly I'm not the biggest Zoro fan, at least not within the context of the Straw Hat crew, but "Nothing Happened?" Wow. Just wow. That and Zoro acknowledging Luffy as Pirate King for the very first time in his speech way back towards the beginning of the story. Those are just moments that NO ONE can deny are absolutely epic and quintessentially Zoro, through and through.
Honestly the way Zoro dealt with Sanji during this moment honestly made Zoro's character even better. He didn't stop Sanji from sacrificing himself because he wants to take all the credit (like some Sanji-tards say) or because he thinks Sanji can't take it (like some Zoro-tards say). He did it not only because he cares about Sanji, but because he understands that in terms of importance in the crew Sanji ranks higher than him. They NEED a cook of Sanji's caliber to survive the grand line, a strong swordsman? Not so much. If God forbid anything happens to Sanji then Luffy most likely won't be able to complete his dream. That's why Zoro stopped Sanji and took it all alone.
It really is hard to pick the single most important part in a story like OP. If I were to make my choice, I would honestly say, while this one was definitely up there, that the biggest character building part had to have been Robin's cry at Ennies Lobby. Tight there, you knew truly what kind of people the straw hats were. All of them willing to die to save the crew member who felt she wasn't worth saving, and completely changing her outlook on life. At that moment, the straw hats were no longer crew mates, but a legitimate family that the entire world would come to love and fear together. Don't pretend that your jaw didn't drop and your skin didn't shiver when this happened.
Bro her cry to save her, and then the symbolism of Usopp destroying the marine flag which is a declaration of war brought chills. This entire arc was a huge turning point for the series, even in regards to Luffy's power scaling when he learns to properly use gear second.
I came here to say exactly this the first time they declared war on the world government and burnt the flag has to me the most pivotal and emotional moment in one piece history that's when they go from being a crew of nobody's to one of the most notorious up and coming pirate crews in the world!
@Fundamentally Unorothdox everything buu saga and forward seems fanfic-y but hey, it’s pretty cool, which is all that’s really left of dragon ball now.
The great thing about Oda is that while One Piece is long af it doesn't even feel long. Excellent pacing, important events are well distributed that keep us looking forward while still giving us current events that tell their important themes.
Well, pre-Marineford does take place over the span of 4-6 months. Kinda wack how willing to die for eachother they are considering how little time they've spent together.
@@michaelbread5906 If you live with people and share the experiences they do it's pretty understandable. Luffy liberated Chopper and Nami's hometown, allowed Sanji to live his life debt-free, literally declared war on the world government for Robin, it's only natural that all this would be reciprocated.
@@diophantine6677time is perceived very differently depending on what you experience, if your seeing new stuff time literally slows down so your brain can get to know it. 6:09 - I would argue that Shanks IS in his prime now. When the emperor's bounties were finally being revealed, that marine said that Shanks only became part of the Yonkou 6 years ago (so 4 years ago pre-timeskip). Ergo: he got significantly stronger after losing an arm. He's also only like 37-39. Whitebeard was considered to be in his prime at around the age of 50. One Piece laws.
I think thats cap, Mihawk said it too. You cant sugercoat losing an arm, especially as a swordsman. Common sense, I think Oda just said it to apease the fans.
@@good8619 i think that while his skill as a swordsman did decrease due to the loss of his arm he could’ve used different fighting styles and haki to keep himself at the same or greater level
@@good8619 Mihawk wanted to fight a swords man but losing his arm let's him do less than that however in total strength he didn't get weaker he got stronger, his haki and his whole arsenal improved while leaving his swordsmanship behind unlike shanks to zoro his swordmanship is everything to him next to luffy and that's why Mihawk respects him even though he's considerably weaker than anyone mihawk has ever fought
the best thing is how Zoro makes it known that His Dream > anything else, yet MULTIPLE times he has been shown willing to throw away his dream to save his friends.
Yes totally agree with this, but Sanji's - "Thanks. I needed a light." vs Enel is so underrated compare to Zoro's - "Nothing happened". Dude just saved both Nami and Ussop and was willing to sacrifice himself before it was a thing.
While I get the sentiment I don't think Sanji's moment Is even remotely comparable. There's so much more weight behind Zoro's moment and context that makes it more than just "being willing to sacrifice himself". It's so much deeper because it happened when no one could see anything and even though Sanji tries to help, Zoro knows Sanji wouldn't be able to survive. Not to mention its not like Zoro was still at full health. He, like everyone else was spent and STILL did that and most of all Kept it from Luffy. The amount of respect he has for Luffy and the crew overall is completely unmatched. Comparing Sanji's moment which literally pales in comparison is damn near insulting imo lol
@@emanx222 Insulting is a strong word I don't think it applies but I agree that Sanji's moment against Enel pales to Zoro's full on sacrifice of his dream to save Luffy and the others.

for me the most important moment in one piece was when luffy was rampaging in amazon lily after losing ace he was at the crossroads of turning into someone like moria someone who lost to the despair, and jinbei telling him what he should look forward to
for me its i want to live...its perfectly executed over 2.5 long arcs of build up and luffy needs robin and she needed to finally feel that way...i think its important for anyone in the real world to see that arc and her say that after her flashback cause it proves you may be a burden but so what?...people are willing to be there for you if you have a good heart...your birth is not a sin...no one is cursed to be alone...your past does not define you and there are people willing to accept you for who you are...
@@pratik5065 Moria lost his entire crew to Kaido and he was traumatized by this to the point that he chose to never risk alive crew members again so he started making zombies
The thing with this moment is that even though Luffy never found out, it still wasn’t unsatisfying or anything. Usually when this kind of stuff happens, I find myself really unsatisfied because it feels as if it didn’t have a purpose or meaning. But the way it was written is beautiful. Oda did an amazing job.
This video was one of the main reasons I started watching One Piece. I didn't have any context for it, but I'd seen a clip of the moment a while ago. And I found it so interesting that I decided that I'd watch your video after I had caught up to and seen the moment in context so I could understand it (your video). Now I am not only done Thriller Bark, but I am completely caught up with the anime. And it's my favourite show of all time by far. So thank you very much for making this video!
About Moiria: When I watched this scene, I just wanted to be done with this warlord, but your video showed me his pain and now I can't ignore that. How many elders have we, the youth, heard without understanding the pain and experience shaking their voice. Moira's not just the final boss; he's a reminder to Luffy that what comes after will be unexpected and decisive at every step.
This was the moment that cemented zoro as my favioute character. The man who put his dream above his own life was willing to give it all up for his captain. That is true loyalty. Even still he survived with pure will to live on
He had no choice as well due to his sheer pride. His dream is to become the "strongest" and how can he become the strongest if he can't even protect his captain. Zoro's dream is dependent on Luffy realizing his own dream of becoming the pirate king. Hence, he prioritizes his captain's life before his own. Realizing that and still taking action has got to be one of the ballsiest moves you can pull off.
Shanks has always intrigued me. We know almost nothing about him, his background, how he became such an important pirate. "Just because its you Shanks" Sengoku and the top three celestial dragons have said this. What is so important about him that makes people respect him so much? He ended a whole war. The straw hat which he gave Luffy was Roger's first, what's that story? Too many mysteries with Shanks! I cant wait till we find out more about him
One theory is that. Shanks was celestial dragon who was a spy for the pirate king. But changed his heart. Only shanks can go in and out from the celestial dragon island and can even fight the world government who disrespected white beared.
I think it has to do with the fact that in a world ruled by the lust for power, fame and money, Shanks prizes honor and respect above anything, despite also being one of the strongest men alive. Think about Shanks, on the few occasions he was given the spotlight he never raised his voice, insulted someone or said any slurs. A man who can absolutely mop the floor with some of the world's strongest forces, but choses to adress you politely. That is someone you respect.
I forget what chapter it was but I remember luffy screaming at one point… “I’m confident I wouldn’t be able to survive if other people weren’t there to help me” It sounds a bit silly but it really is his crew that is there for him like that.
I think we ought to put some more respect on Sanji’s name, he also tried to offer his life despite Zoro’s stronger resolve and I love Sanji for that :)
if one piece was darker and killed some crewmates off thriller bark would be more regarded...they all survived too well in an arc they were not ready for
@@razkable The fact that One piece rarely kills its main characters is what makes those deaths hit harder. But your right, Luffy should have lost at least one character at thriller bark, they we’re grossly unprepared for it.

More than an year late to this video but listening and being reminded of the emotions that one piece and the straw hats put us through, each character having their own reason and pull to the crew and how this moment and many others like it define the very essence of one piece. This reminds me of the part with the fight against arlong where Luffy has a whole monologue where he states all the ways he inferior to his crewmates but the one thing he can do is beat arlong
I love the Zoro “nothing happened” moment but I feel like no one gives Luffy any credit. A fraction of Luffy’s pain almost incapacitated Zoro and Luffy dealt with this pain like he wasn’t affected. Luffy kept going because he knew his crew was relying on him to win. Like Luffy literally laughs through pain that could kill about anyone else like look at his fight with Kaido Luffy is just built different
1. "luffy dealt with the pain like he wasnt affected" - was literally knocked out by said damage. 2. "A fraction of luffys pain almost incapacitated zoro" - zoro, who was already on the verge of death from his own damage (
Nah, there is 2 factors at play during this fight: Luffys DF can absorb much damage. He hardly bleeds because the rubber absorbs damage And luffy used "nightmare luffy". As a cluster of spirits took over him, he performed major blows, and received head on punches with minimal damage. That damage added up and zoro had to endure all that pain in which kuffy couldnt even feel half of it
Luffy saved Zoro’s life all the way at the beginning of the series. Ever since, Zoro has always been there to back Luffy up, to ensure he will stick to his dream and become the King of the Pirates. As long as you have that support and faith, it’s hard to give up.
If Big Mom had the balls to try and kill Dragon, Shanks, Jinbe, and Dadan instead of making claims that she’d kill Sanji’s stepfather Zeff than I’d say that if it was Zoro trying to get Luffy back from Big Mom on Whole Cake Island than he would have definitely went with Nami, Pedro, Carrot, and Jinbe back and forth between Whole Cake Island and Wano because just like how Robin feels that she definitely owes her life to Luffy after saving her life twice both in Enies Lobby and Alabasta; Zoro feels that he owes his life to his Captain Luffy because Luffy saved him from dying in a Marine base.
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hr but zoro also saved luffy when he was in that cage...both of them solid but zoro diff from the other crew because hes the only one who actually saves luffy and has a similar dream. Like roger and Rayleigh

I remember watching this and after Sanji woke up, looking for zoro. When I heard the very very very strongest as he saw zoro I couldn't help but cry, right there was the moment he became my favourite.
zoro becomes vice captain when luffy is gone/out...nami does the navigation stuff cause zoro has no sense of direction and shes more social but when it mattered most zoro put it on the line like a true first mate right hand man...
this is a good analysis man. One piece is full of iconic, show-defining moments that illustrate themes of friendship, power scale, and will. the one you describe is def one of my favorites
This show is what gives me hope for the future. Its a driving factor in my pursuit to continue life, and enjoy every little thing and every unique person along the way. The message being sent is so much more than just the show itself. Thats what One Piece is about, and thats why it will forever be my favorite show.
One of my favorite parts is Sanji, Brook, and Robin all know about Zoro's sacrifice, and all of them choose to respect his wish to keep the incident a secret. It's just such a quiet expression of trust and kindness.
This moment also shows that even though Zoro and Sanji have constant beef with one another and seem to hate each other, deep down they both highly respect each other and know that they are the closest to one another. You know that if Zoro and Sanji tag team for a fight it's going to be the most hype thing in the manga
Honestly, I think you did a good job at pointing out the importance of Thriller Bark to One Piece as a story. But I would hardly say that this was the most important scene, even though it is one of my favorites.

Thriller Bark Arc was one of my favorites. It starts out with meeting Brook, which is awesome in and of itself. Then you get intrigue, mystery, a bit if horror and a lot of humor in the first portion. Then the action-packed battle with Oars. But the part with Kuma and Zoro's sacrifice really takes it to a whole 'nother level!
I unironically rewatch this moment with luffy every once in a while... probably once a year... it really is great story telling. Imagine having a friend so loyal and so wholeheartedly wanting to see you fulfill your dreams that they would sacrifice anything for it. Masterpiece. Zoro is goated. I almost cried watching this the first time.
I love the scene not just because Zoro is willing to sacrifice himself, but also because it shows just how much pain Luffy took to get his crewmates and everyone else their shadows. Additionally, Sanji showing genuine concern for Zoro but also him and Brook keeping the secret for him without anyone needing to tell them to. Then how all of them tried to protect Zoro (or at least worried so much for him) when Kuma came again on Sabaody. The moment was good when I first saw it, for many, many reasons. But it became unparalleled in hindsight with everything that happened afterwards.
I think everyone forgets to mention how honorable Sanji was in that moment. Sanji was also willing to sacrifice himself to Kuma for the squad until Zoro knocked him out. And I quote "The flower of my glorious death shall bloom on this spot" 🌼💨
One Piece is full of amazing scenes and set pieces. But this right here will always be my favorite moment. It shows just how loyal Zoro is to Luffy, how far he's willing to go. The scene when he made the vow to never loose again after his loss to Mihawk is also a really good Zoro scene, but I feel it always fell short in showing just how much Zoro cared for and respected Luffy. It's by no means a bad scene, but this one is the one that said, for me at least, Zoro is prepared to die for his captain. Loyalty like that can't be bought
True, but it's not unwarranted. The loyalty goes both ways. Luffy declared war on the whole world for Robin without a moment's hesitation (my favorite scene so far 😭).
One of my favourite One Piece moments (I wouldn’t say it’s the most important tho) is at the start of the Water 7 arc when Ussop challenges Luffy to a fight and holds his own for a considerable time. It really just shows how despite Ussop most of the time being there for comic relief and a joke, he has strong resolve and dedication and when he puts his mind to it, he can be just as strong as everyone else in the Straw Hat Pirates. I just found it really powerful.
This was an amazing video. To me, this is also my favourite scenes. Zoro is my favourite character and I fell in love with him from the 1st episode I saw him in. He's grown so much. - Him fighting Mihawk and promising he'll never lose again. - Learning to cut and use his blade during the Alabasta arc. - Telling Luffy to man up and stand by his values. Telling him that he'll lose all respect for Luffy and saying he'll leave the crew if he takes Usopp back after their fight on Water 7. - Zoro taking on Luffy's pain, after being exhausted from the fight. These shows amazing growth, the values and the respect he has for Luffy.
I think the reason the story is so good is because they have the time and length to tell it in detail. i can’t see how people think a genuinely good story can be told quickly
And everybody forgets one of the only moments when luffy was about to give up against lucci and the only thing that spurs his fight again is usopp who makes it look like hes about to take on luffys fight for him getting sacrificed in the process because he obviously knows he would be killed by lucci if he fought him. Usopp knows that Luffy would never let a nakame die to save him. This moment is totaly underrated in my opinion.
I recently watched this scene for the first time, and it was already my #1 most memorable moment in the show. This episode made it even better, thank you!
I think Geko is like a PTSD case of Shonen. He lost everything and wants to achieve his dream without ever suffering that kind of loss again. Never survived to get that deep in One Piece, but that's how he reads to me.
Honestly, I think the most important scene in one piece was when Usopp shot down the marine flag. It signalled that the Straw Hats didn't fear anyone, and wouldn't let anyone get in the way of saving their friends. As they stood in front of people who, until that point, were considered untouchable and burned their flag, they made a mark on the Marines, and by extension, the world, that not many others have made, or would be willing to make.
I love the scene in the Wano arc when Sanji is asking Robin for help sending her in a Trap. He knows, she’s way more powerful than those goons and would always help her crew. He’s not afraid of asking for help and I think this ties into Robins arc and the CP9 as well.
@7:45 Or as Luffy said back in Aarlong Park "I can't use a sword or cook or navigate or tell lies but that's why I need my crew!" Or something like that.
I've thought a lot about what the One Piece could be and I think I've settled on my favourite idea - the One Piece is Gold Rogers' journal. It fits thematically "the real treasure is the adventure and memories shared with your friends" It's something Luffy would absolutely love to have It's dangerous to the current powers (how many government secrets did Roger encounter?) And it even fits what Gold Rogers said about it - he could be speaking metaphorically by saying that all the stories he gathered are stored in one book
I dig it, always liked this moment (saved the Thriller Bark Arc from being mediocre in my opinion). Still, my favorite moment remains: "Shoot down that flag." That moment signifies in the biggest way the reason why the crew follows Luffy.
The part that gives me chills, is that zoro gave up his dream to be the #1 swordsman WITHOUT hesitation to support his captains dream of becoming pirate king. And we see in that first encounter with Mihawk , that zoro is ready to die for his dream. So many chills
As newer one piece fan who’s watched 740 episodes in less than 6 months, this show has now surpassed AOT and Naruto as my personal favorite (AOT is still maybe more perfect and beautiful)… One Piece is the perfect balance of unique characters, who can all make you laugh, but also has some of the most badass, satisfying fight scenes. I also like the approach where they keep so much secretive for so long, even each characters abilities. But the shows greatest strength is how well the dark themes are balanced with boatloads of humor and silliness, it makes the show the easiest binge of my entire life…
I just happened to stumble upon this video, and the timing couldn't have been more perfect, I've been watching One Piece for a few years now, taking long breaks and binging hundreds of episodes in and out, this time in when I went to continue the series once again, right around when Law is fighting Doflmaingo and losing, all the side story felt so lifeless and pointless and dull and it honestly kind of made me question why I liked this show so much where this kind of content does take up a majority of the show, I think your video help refresh my memory on the real shut these characters have actually gone through and kind of re opened my eyes onto why One Piece was one of my favorite animes, and that's because of how much they've gone through and the build up to everything, I realize now even the side shit is important because it's all part of the journey, they learn more and more throughout the way, as ridiculous as some of it seems sometimes that's what makes one piece so great it's goofy and Corny and funny, and then it's unforgiving and heart wrenching and makes you proud of its characters, so in that case I just wanted to thank you for putting this out here and reigniting my passion for this show and its characters
This made my year seeing that moment. Honestly, it was so good. I think Zoro might have come off as, well, I think a lot of characters back then hadn't really had dimensions added yet. Zoro's depth expanded so much in that one seen, that for once it wasn't just 'in your face' logic. You really had to dig down deep and try to understand why exactly he responded in that way. And I think that moment made this scene so important, solidifying Zoro as a character who'd be worthy of his own spin off even, if not for the fact that he'd never get anywhere without the help of a guide anway.
I just have to add that the way Oda did this whole sequence of events so beautifully to lead all the way up to one of the coolest and unique ways of introducing a "training arc" for everyone on the crew. Sending each to a place they could develop thier own unique skill set while simultaneously giving the each character growth in the story as well, realizing they were weak and needed to improve if they ever wanted to stand a chance in the new world. Oda is a fucking genius lol
i like how hes always been around when a new member is recruited so he was the one who decided luffy and the others like sanji can't die..he must die instead for their goals...
Imagine, Luffy doesn’t feel most pain cuz he’s rubber! All that pain was on Zoro, a Human! He had to experience pain that was able to incapacitate and nearly kill their captain! With the after effects of the shadows! 🥶
Agreed. Love that moment!!
Pretty sure Zoro IS the 2nd in command. Why? He is the first mate. Ba dum tss
And the part where he made it clear about everyone else position as part of the crew should any of them decide to leave as well.
It’s also worth noting that Zoro was genuinely happy when Ussop apologized and returned to the crew. He may come off as cold, but he would put his life on the line for any of the straw hats except maybe Sanji lol.

Luffy kept going because he knew his crew was relying on him to win. Like Luffy literally laughs through pain that could kill about anyone else like look at his fight with Kaido Luffy is just built different

Luffy advantage is his devil fruit.
1. "luffy dealt with the pain like he wasnt affected" - was literally knocked out by said damage.
2. "A fraction of luffys pain almost incapacitated zoro" - zoro, who was already on the verge of death from his own damage (
Nah, there is 2 factors at play during this fight:
Luffys DF can absorb much damage. He hardly bleeds because the rubber absorbs damage
And luffy used "nightmare luffy". As a cluster of spirits took over him, he performed major blows, and received head on punches with minimal damage. That damage added up and zoro had to endure all that pain in which kuffy couldnt even feel half of it
Zoro was also already way way way past his limit at the time....all other strawhats were knocked out
This is basically Dragon testing Zoro’s loyalty.
All of the strawhats actually
Luffy saved Zoro’s life all the way at the beginning of the series. Ever since, Zoro has always been there to back Luffy up, to ensure he will stick to his dream and become the King of the Pirates.
As long as you have that support and faith, it’s hard to give up.
If Big Mom had the balls to try and kill Dragon, Shanks, Jinbe, and Dadan instead of making claims that she’d kill Sanji’s stepfather Zeff than I’d say that if it was Zoro trying to get Luffy back from Big Mom on Whole Cake Island than he would have definitely went with Nami, Pedro, Carrot, and Jinbe back and forth between Whole Cake Island and Wano because just like how Robin feels that she definitely owes her life to Luffy after saving her life twice both in Enies Lobby and Alabasta; Zoro feels that he owes his life to his Captain Luffy because Luffy saved him from dying in a Marine base.

this is a good analysis man.
His whole crew was out cold only robin and sanji know
@@abellagunas7327 brook knows as well
This moment also shows that even though Zoro and Sanji have constant beef with one another and seem to hate each other, deep down they both highly respect each other and know that they are the closest to one another.
Oda specifically said the One Piece wouldn't just be the adventure/friends along the way.
it will have a deeper meaning then treasure or friends
Oda said it's something tangible, so one piece is just a paper that says "friends are the greatest treasure"
@@idisseddemonslayermugentra2962 I suppose that's a possibility..
@@ghostanbu1099 I'm sure oda wouldn't do that
Or i'll commit suicide, I've been following this series for years 😂
@@idisseddemonslayermugentra2962 Never suicide before consulting a professional or three in mental health, concerning the concerns; and research life around for a while. But if unpleasing, unplease engage in previous line of action, to, in the end, unpleasingly ignore the "otherwise" I folowed it with, and do both, for the funk of it.

omg YOU SIR! have analyzed this PERFECTLY! You were thinking on a whole notha level! Love this video and agree now with you.
You know you found a new favorite TH-camr and a good video when it gives you goosebumps!
According to a SBS question corner, Zoro actually died when he took Luffy’s pain, but the underworld rejected him and sent him back.
Sanji and Zoro both have the same dedication to save their crew at that moment. even brook said it. he saw everything
Which chapter?
And robin knew too
Thriller Bark Arc was one of my favorites.
It's because everyone tries to forget how shitty Sanji was for the rest of the arc before this part.
I know this is a video about Zoro, but this video really gave me a new appreciation for Moria as a character.
@@Don_Giovanni My point exactly, just with a different scene
@@Gordan1Freeman3 Alright. I wasn't able to read that from your post. 😅
I sometimes miss the moments when the other members like nami, chopper and especially usopp show their power.
Imagine we finish one piece on a cliffhanger and then one piece 2 starts.
Two piece
@@psosweet underrated comment
would not be mad, just sayin
And everybody forgets one of the only moments when luffy was about to give up against lucci and the only thing that spurs his fight again is usopp who makes it look like hes about to take on luffys fight for him getting sacrificed in the process because he obviously knows he would be killed by lucci if he fought him. Usopp knows that Luffy would never let a nakame die to save him. This moment is totaly underrated in my opinion.
I recently watched this scene for the first time, and it was already my #1 most memorable moment in the show. This episode made it even better, thank you!
I have had this video saved for so long. I finally got to the part, so I’m going in blind and excited.
Never mind, there are still spoilers, see you in another year.
I am back boys
One Piece is definitely that show that really cares about consistency. Top tier manga in my opinion.
I think Geko is like a PTSD case of Shonen. He lost everything and wants to achieve his dream without ever suffering that kind of loss again. Never survived to get that deep in One Piece, but that's how he reads to me.
Nice perspective

This moment always gets me, man. Even just seeing the still image, I'm tearing up. Powerful.
This scene, the minks loyalty, and the return of Kyros are my favorite scenes in the whole show.
“Oo00ooOOoo00oO Ben Beckman”
Love that line lol
Friendship loyalty is the heart of one piece! Will never get tired watching it ❤️
I love the scene in the Wano arc when Sanji is asking Robin for help sending her in a Trap.
Good video. I agree, that was my favorite moment in the show. His loyalty to the crew and his captain is incomparable.
I've thought a lot about what the One Piece could be and I think I've settled on my favourite idea - the One Piece is Gold Rogers' journal.
It fits thematically "the real treasure is the adventure and memories shared with your friends"
It's something Luffy would absolutely love to have
It's dangerous to the current powers (how many government secrets did Roger encounter?)
And it even fits what Gold Rogers said about it - he could be speaking metaphorically by saying that all the stories he gathered are stored in one book
We now know that it's the "fun story left by joyboy"
I’m convinced zoro is just fucking immortal at this point
Just favored by fate
Shanks did not lose power because of one missing arm. That was stated by oda.
Thank you for covering this!
I dig it, always liked this moment (saved the Thriller Bark Arc from being mediocre in my opinion).
Still, my favorite moment remains: "Shoot down that flag." That moment signifies in the biggest way the reason why the crew follows Luffy.
Rs no hesitation or question
Yeah man! I get emotional every time I remember that scene! 😭
Senta o dedo na bandeira foi foda
Important moment because it really shows how loyal and a true friend he is to luffy and shows that he will sacrifice himself for his captain.
But the shows greatest strength is how well the dark themes are balanced with boatloads of humor and silliness, it makes the show the easiest binge of my entire life…
one piece is literally 8 year old boy making up stories about pirates but it actually makes sense in the end
I'm even newer with 1000 eps done in about 2 months :)))
“Everything changed when Bartholemew Kuma attacked”

Your Luffy emporer explanation needs rethought so much. Love the vibe of the vid, but oh boy you missed on the Luffy emporer thing
This is such a high quality video and great assessment of my favorite show.
Zoro has always been my favorite. He’s the embodiment of will,
i like how hes always been around when a new member is recruited so he was the one who decided luffy and the others like sanji can't die..he must die instead for their goals...
This is a great video!!
"not strong enough to be a yonko"
luffy; "hold my straw hat"
Imagine, Luffy doesn’t feel most pain cuz he’s rubber! All that pain was on Zoro, a Human! He had to experience pain that was able to incapacitate and nearly kill their captain! With the after effects of the shadows! 🥶
