I don't judge Batman by the box office. I read the comics as a kid and they were very deep and gritty. No superpowered villains. All just crazy. Batman is borderline crazy in a way. Alfred pulls him back. Batman is a mere human with technology and fight training. Personally, that's why I think he's the best comic character out there.
