Zatanna is a friend of the bat family, so I imagine if Barbara Gordon watched this death battle she’d be pissed Zatanna didn’t bother healing her legs with all that power
I always wondered why they relied on tech to get her walking again instead of a simple spell from one of the magic users.
This is my headcanon but plot n character development maybe
@@Nemisis007 Probably because even though they have seen it with they're own eyes the bat family is skepticle of magic believing it is nothing more than unexplained science with consequences they rather not have to deal with in the long run, in fact batman has always in the comics and in the animated universe stated he prefered not to rely on magic because he does not believe it is not without it's consequences and is not fully capable of figuring it out under a microscope so to speak.
I don't remember the exact issue # but I had saved a cut out from the comics. Martian manhunter is talking to Barbara. MM suggests that the JL can find a way to bring her mobility back. Barbara rejects it and says she won't accept anything other than a medical breakthrough.

Ig but most of the scans they showed for Wanda weren't recent the were all old... And some of Zatanna scans were taken out of context. Because in the more recent comics Wanda doesn't have that mental illness anymore. So them using that as a clutch isn't accurate
either way, the death battle fights aren't meant to illustrate what would certainly happen; but instead just works as a visualizer for the viewer that leads to the conclusion the video makes

The way I see it. If someone can beat someone in a fight in the MCU, typically (though not always) the fight would go similarly in the comics except on a much larger scale. That's why I think Thanos beating Hulk was somewhat accurate despite everyone thinking Hulk should've won but that's just my take

Scarlet Witch said "no more sound" so Zatanna couldn't pronounce her spells anymore. But since Zatanna can still use her spells without saying a word, so she cast her last spell with telepathy.

This battle is based off of innate power, to which it was done successfully. Hell, wanda's power was completely repelled by a stupid little rock. (See the 2023 versions.)

In the main story line, Wanda is no longer the biological daughter of Magento but he still considers her as his daughter and Polaris still considers her as her sister. She isn't a mutant technically but her physical body now has ties to mutant kind.
Literally they need to retcon Her back to her mutant heritage/ the bio daughter of magneto. 40 years of history…. Erased and House of m don’t make sense without it.

Zatanna is a actually a very scary force within the justice league dark. Losing control could cause the end of almost everything. I wish Warner bros would invest more in these characters

I love you Dwayne and jazz you’re literally like the best reaction channel on TH-cam and jazz is making a name for herself as a gamer and even though I’m younger than both of you I’m still super proud of your progression I’ve been watching for a long time
As a hardcore marvel fan, it hurts to say this but I'm gonna give it to Zatanna; in comparison of abilities they're pretty similar, so from what I see the problem lies in individual skill. Zatanna had a handle on it from the start, and had someone to train her in magic from the get-go, whereas Wanda spent most of her life believing that her powers were simple luck of the draw mutant abilities that had a limit on what they could affect and not knowing that she could perform actual authentic magic until much later; not to forget the fact that Wanda is completely mentally unstable, and would most likely become careless and fall into fit of rage that the more level-headed and greater disciplined Zatanna would be able to exploit.
By way deathbattle talk about zatanna weakness in the past and she does have them anymore but they did not mention that scarlet witch does not have her weakness anymore in their video. Plus looking at the bio info on marvel and dc wiki scarlet witch has a list of more powers and and has more skills then zatanna.Scarlet should have won if we talking normally who wins.

I woudn't rely on Death Battle because its very biased and lack proper information and skips about Wanda character and powers.
I just had to laugh when they were talking about Wanda's used to be mutant powers (Probability Hex's) until it was retconned to be Chaos magic because she wasn't a mutant and they proceeds to talk about her Probability powers instead of Chaos magic it seems the only thing they know is chthon and thats it.
Wanda as developed as a character and the way death battle protray wanda is accurate to her current character. If your a hardcore fan you would know that wanda wins.
@@WinniePooh33 I suppose, but sadly my knowledge of Wanda’s story as ends roughly after House of M, as I have not really had the chance to read very many of the comics, so most of my information comes from the Marvel Encyclopedia (Old and current versions) and the little that Deathbattle provides, so while more knowledgeable people such as yourself are able to say “Oh she did this and also that which means she’s more likely to win” I unfortunately am not. Not to mention that I know practically nothing about DC characters other than their base info and what media provides, it’s hard to be open minded and fairly judge these videos even though I know they’re biased towards a certain character. So given the little that I know, and what’s been shown, this outcome makes sense to me personally, but I feel it really could have gone either way if given better information.

@AUser01 Would still win? Wanda blinks her. Anyone who read all of Wanda's comics, and retcons would know how truly powerful Wanda truly is, she will win against Zatanna. Death battle only knows a small percent of what Wanda has done in the comics and they refused to mention anything else other than HOM, AVX and older issues picking and choosing.

When I first watch this, I knew zatanna was gonna win
I love scarlet witch/Wanda, but zatanna had more of a chance given the fact she was more level headed and she had her magic running through her vein as a child and train at a young age. Plus she neverr tempted to use dark magic due to her promise to her father thus never losing her sanity or power hunger to be powerful.

@@TheCell111 Using marvel and dc wiki is probably one of the worst sources of information you can rely on, Zatanna's magic is literally doing anything she believes she can do, any powers or skills scarlet has she does to. And unlike scarlet who have never once fought an opponent of equal strengh zatanna has fought multiple foes just as strong if not stronger than her, meaning scarlet also loses in terms of experience. And again as death battle stated scarlet witch could only become as powerful as she was because of the life force, while zatanna's magic is her own innate power meaning she has better control and better understanding of her power. Also if you're using a version of the scarlet witch that doesn't have the weakness of an insane mind then you can't also use house of M scarlet witch because the life force is a big part of her unstable mind, you can't give her the abilities she gained from the life force while giving her a sane mind because the life force is the main source of her unstable mind.

As a Marvel comic fanatic it shocks me on the lack of knowledge they have on Wanda's character. They touched pretty much almost touch on everything about Zatanna while they barley graze on Wanda's character/powers.

Wanda became powerful in House Of M because shes a Nexus being. Life Force was retconned to be Wanda's own innate powers. Wanda became unstable giving the fact she lost her children and that Agatha hide a part of her memory of her and her children until Wanda rediscover this and kill Agatha harkness because of this. Your spreading false information, if you read/keep up with marvel comic you would know this.
If you read Wanda's comic and Zatanna's you would know who is clearly the winner and thats the Scarlet witch.

I'm genuinely surprised. I knew Zatana was strong but I thought Scarlett would have won for sure. However, the more I heard about her feats, the more I felt like it could have gone either way. I definitely need to get into Zatana a little bit more.

Definitely finish watching season 3 and 4 you will see more zatanna especially the end of season 3 into 4. Young justice is one of my favorite animated DC shows so far. I hope they do a season 5. They did all of zatanna's recent feats but only did wanda's history basically and said H.O.M is her highest power feat when she literally became the goddess of chaos magic and is immortal. I do think the battle could go either way but they should of done equal amount of research on both characters.

The difference between Zatanna and Scarlet Witch is that Wanda was given one of the most powerful forms of magic, while Zatanna had to earn her rank and reputation to even be on the same caliber as Wanda even tho Z didn’t have Chaos Magic.

VS Battles is less reliable for higher tiers self.CharacterRant
It's no secret that VS Battles isn't a reliable source when wanting to determine how powerful a character is.
But since the tier system is supposed to be exponential (i.e. the gap between High 1-A and and 1-A is supposed to be greater than that between a 1-A and a 11-C) you'd expect it to become more reliable the higher up you go, because there's less room for error. But this isn't the case, in fact the opposite is true, the higher you go the less reliable the Wiki becomes.

In total there are 7 characters from 4 fictional settings, these settings are: DC Comics, Elder Scrolls, the Cthulhu Mythos and Umineko.

From DC Comics, The Writer
This has to be the dumbest Tier 0 ranking by far, because the character is dead in canon, and he was killed by a Tier 9 character. This comic is ignored in the profile, and in the few debates that it's brought up you're met with the "he wrote his own death," excuse, which, if you look at the scan I provided, he didn't.... The justification he's "Likely Tier 0" is from an interview with Grant Morison with IGN (which needless to say isn't an official DC publication, and therefore not canon) where Morison says:

IGN Comics: So that kind of answers my question, which is that the Monitors all seem like analogs for storytellers. There seems to be this never-ending cycle of the stories affecting the storytellers and the storytellers affecting the stories and on and on.
Morrison: Yeah, it's a bit of that. It's also the idea that they're like angels as well. For me, the cool, essential idea of all stories being real creates this great cosmology to play with. It's the notion that the white page itself is a void, and in the context of the DC Universe, well that's God or The Source. In the white page, or the void, anything can happen, everything is possible. As I dug down closer to the very root of the activity I find myself engaged in as a career, I was thinking "what is the basis of the comic book story? What actually is it?"
In the case of comic book stories, it's the war between white page and ink. And who's to say that the page might want that particular story drawn on it? [laughs] What happens if the page is a bit pissed off at the story that's drawn on it? So I thought of the page as God. The idea being that the Overvoid - as we called it in Final Crisis - of the white page as a space is sort of God. And it's condensing stories out of itself because it finds inside its own gigantic white space, self-absorbed pristine consciousness, it finds this little stain or mark, this DC Multiverse somebody has 'drawn'. And it starts investigating, and it's just shocked with what it sees, with all the crazy activity and signifying going on in there. It then tries to protect itself from the seething contact with 'story' and imagines a race of beings, 'angels' or 'monitors' (another word for angel, of course) to function as an interface between its own giant eternal magnificence and this tiny, weird crawling anthill of life and significance that is the DC Multiverse.

Notice how the character "the Writer" isn't mentioned or referred to anywhere in the interview. But they went completely headcanon here, misconstrued this interview (which had nothing to do with the Writer-character) and put it forth as an argument for the Writer's spot as the supreme being in DC, completely ignoring canon publications in the process.

She’s a witch. Born to Natalya Maximoff, the previous Scarlet Witch. Also Wanda hasn’t had that weakness since house of m. Wanda has fought and defeated cosmic gods like Chaos, Phoenix Force, and Chthon (who is actually more powerful than Pralaya). I like zatanna but I hate how outdated the info was on Wanda.
C'Thon isn't as powerful as Pralaya...not even close.
she never defeated the actual phoenix force just weak hosts....she was losing aganist dark phoenix cyclops and needed help who is nothing compared to jean with the PF
dr strange has gotten the better of wanda on several occasions as well.
@@camm8642 yes and Wanda was a weaker version of her current self. Where are we getting at with that statement. Also I’ve read practically every story with Wanda in it and I can tell you he has only bested her once and it was before he realized the extent of her reality warping. I take it it’s because even when he used the Eye of Agamotto to knock her out she still was warping reality and summoned Dormammu to fight him to the confusion of both Wong, Strange, and Dormammu himself.
Edit: you are forgetting that after she struggled she dropped him twice with the latter resulting in him attacking Emma and took on the full power of the Phoenix.
@@TheWeakest26 it worth noting dr strange is almost like two characters.....more modern strange wanda would overall likely best especially as she seems to be given more and more buffs....but she pales in comparison in to classic dr strange who has much better feats....and in terms of the PF during AxX taking on the full power is really just taking on the full power of the phoenix allowed...hence why emma or scott or none of the P5 with the PF could never come close to matching up to Jean or Rachel Grey or Hope Summers w the PF.
