This TH-cam show reminds me a lot of that old TV show called like ultimate warrior. I've never been a big DC guy but I've always loved zartana's look and character and I would like to see a movie or HBO max show on her. Unfortunately Wanda's biggest problem is her unstable psyche and unfortunately had no chance against a even powered magic user that had a stable mind.
i just hope that after the events of darkhold omega #1 where wanda became the goddess of chaos as she defeated chthon, wanda became free from chthon's mind which is controlling her for years, i do need to see where scarlet witch wouldn't go insane and became powerful instead she's fully control by it with proper training with the bright side of being a witch, cuz i notice alot when they compare scarlet witch to someone, they would easily use wanda's mental stability as her weakness since she has more raw power, and without her mental health i'm pretty sure that wanda would win against zatanna just my penny of thoughts lol, zatanna's character is also unique with her casting spells backwards
Death Battle was greatly inspired by Deadliest Warrior along with websites like Outskirts. Actually, IIRC, the showrunner's original pitch to ScrewAttack was "Deadliest Warrior, but for fictional characters." The show grew away from that style over time, but your mental connection is well-founded.
By way deathbattle talk about zatanna weakness in the past and she does have them anymore but they did not mention that scarlet witch does not have her weakness anymore in their video. Plus looking at the bio info on marvel and dc wiki scarlet witch has a list of more powers and and has more skills then zatanna.Scarlet should have won if we talking normally who wins.
@@TheCell111 They address the first point in one of the corner extra notes. Reaching the same level of power as Zatanna requires using the Life Force, which drives you insane no matter who you are. Wanda's emotional fragility was just coincidental, something for her own character arc. The Life Force drives you insane so long as you're using it, regardless of how at peace you are with your emotions. As for the second point, both those wikis are notorious for getting major details wrong and being unreliable in VS Debate research. Nobody in the VS Battle community who knows what they're doing ever uses them. And, ignoring that, creating an entire infinite cosmological multiverse kind of includes all the possible skills and powers that can ever exist. Zatanna's magic can literally do anything up to that scale so long as she believes it can. To have her lose because the wikis have more specific listings for one character is the equivalent of claiming Green Lantern can't make a bucket and rag to wash windows because well, we've never SEEN him do it. There ARE arguments for Scarlet Witch winning. These aren't them.
I think they are make a Zatanna movie which will be linked with Justice league Dark, but I think it's at a very early stage hopefully they are able to make it happen and cast someone that has great charisma and brings the character to life
From what I've read, it is pretty much confirmed that there will be a Zatanna movie coming out at some point in the DC cinematic universe at some point between now and the next few years. I really hope that it does not turn out to be a disappointment because DC really needs to catch up with the movies compared to Marvel.
Love you guys but the idea that “Marvel introduced weaknesses that DC’s characters didn’t have” is pretty inaccurate. For one, it assumes that both Marvel and DC are monoliths with singular intent. They’re not. They’re companies made up of hundreds (even thousands) of employees: artists, writers, editors, etc. On top of that, it glosses over the decades of publication these characters have gone through. Marvel didn’t really introduce the mental instability angle to Wanda’s personality until she had already been around for years. Like, probably around the time we saw that whole drama with her and Vision and their children. Also, a lot of DC characters have similar personality flaws and mental challenges. Ever hear of the Doom Patrol? Crazy Jane has DID. Robotman literally contends with being a brain in a robot body. Raven of the Teen Titans has a whole host of mental and emotional scarring. Roy Harper aka Red Arrow is a recovering drug addict. We could go on. Just sayin.
Precisely. Marvel show their charactes differently from DC. Marvel lets their flaws show up in fights. DC keeps them away from them as much as they can.

Zatanna was consumed by the void but managed to recreate constatine and manipulate him to recreate her, the two creations were manipulated to create a "seed" of the swamp monster, all three had the power of zatanna within them and their magic together (the magic all of her) was able to defeat the void (which is far above a god) and restore existence, bringing her own existence back, meaning she can also come back from death. wanda doesn't have the same experience as zatanna by far, wanda certainly had a lot of experience but not on the same level as zatanna. One of the reasons they think wanda is stronger is because zatanna hardly loses control so she only does what is necessary but wanda in various problems loses control of her powers and uses it causing great catastrophes, zatanna has the same power to cause the same catastrophes but has a lot of self control. I agree with the part that zatanna would hardly use lethal magic but wanda has no problem using it, so for me it's a draw because zatanna doesn't normally use his power in full, wanda would need to threaten the universe for what zatanna uses make the most of her powers but that's precisely why she became so good at solving problems on the fly and "ending" enemies, she needs to be well prepared because she knows that her enemies won't think twice about killing her for that she is a master of banishing, transforming, defense, escape, healing and enemy control spells, that is, game control and subjugation spells. zatana doesn't have a weaker level of power than wanda since zatanna has defeated the void (which is stronger than a god) but zatanna practically doesn't use lethal magic she uses magic that hurts but hardly kills, in exceptions when her creature has a lot of evil and is causing universal disturbances.
This makes sense but we gotta take the rules used in Death Battle into account. Even though normally Zatanna wouldn't use lethal spells it's different when we follow the rule they use where they basically make both characters blood lusted. The show is called Death Battle, so obviously both characters will be trying their best to kill each other.
What I don't like is that they hyper focused on Scarlet Witch's House of M story line of instability, acting like she's perpetually unstable & they ignored several of Scarlet Witch's other feats & abilities. Scarlet Witch has many forms of Manipulation, such as Elemental, Soul, Reality, Time Manipulation. Scarlet Witch also has Meta Probability Manipulation, Absolute Wish, Chronovision, Chronokinesis & Scarlet Witch can't be held by death itself, plus she can both wield the Life Force at will & can resurrect herself at will, therefore she can never definitively die. Scarlet Witch has held back Eternity, with 1 hand, withstood direct shots from Chaos, blocked the blast of the force of creation from the House of Ideas itself, aka, the very center of Marvel comics, withstood a world destroying energy bullet to the neck, to name a few feats. Scarlet Witch wouldn't just fly into random insanity & get sliced in a box, like this. Death Battle is bullshit for this. Not to mention the obvious; Scarlet Witch can make her Chaos Wave Omniversal, weaving through every existing dimension, realm, reality & universe, which can't even be tampered with, since Doctor Strange said trying to mess with Scarlet Witch's Chaos Wave could result in all of creation shattering & being reduced down to a blob of a lifeless singularity. That's why even the Phoenix could reverse the Chaos Wave, but instead, countered it by recreating new X gene mutants in place of the 99% of mutants that Scarlet Witch depowered & erased. If the Phoenix can't even bring back the depowered mutants or stop the Chaos Wave, which Scarlet Witch can recreate, I don't know the hell Zatanna can beat her, considering Zatanna hasn't performed any definitive Omniversal destructive or creative feats yet.

Magic for Zatanna is like breathing. It's always been a part of her life and she's gotten so good at it that beings from around the DC Universe come to her when they need help with mystical threats. When you're Batman's go-to whenever he has a magic problem, then you're pretty great at what you do. 9/11 Scarlet Witch: Hex Powers Scarlet Witch's powers aren't actually magical in nature, at least they weren't at first. Her powers were classified as hex powers which required a certain level of training, power, and control to master. Using her abilities she was able to alter the probability of things happening around her. This power would grow over the years and she would eventually learn to use magic, but at first her powers were not magic based at all which gives her a certain edge. 8/11 Zatanna: Spellcasting Tongue Twisters Unlike a lot of other magic users, Zatanna doesn't need to learn spells or things like that. Of course, she does know spells and things of that nature because Zatanna is nothing if not a professional, but her actual spellcasting method is quite novel- she just has to say it backwards. Anything she can say backwards, she can make happen. First off, it's just impressive that she can talk backwards so well. Secondly, it allows her to do just about anything she needs at any given time. Now, it's debatable if she can do some of the things that Scarlet Witch can do with her powers, but this still makes Zatanna a powerful foe. 7/11 Scarlet Witch: Ancient Education Scarlet Witch would eventually learn actual magic from Agatha Harkness. Once the nanny of Franklin Richards, she would take Scarlet Witch under her wing and train her in the ways of magic. Agatha was revealed to be one of the original witches from Salem, Massachusetts. Agatha is one of the most powerful witches around with hundreds of years experience. She has returned from the dead several times (one of those deaths was at Wanda's hands) and can use her magic to perform all kinds of amazing feats. Wanda couldn't have asked for a better teacher. 6/11 Zatanna: Known And Feared Throughout The Magical World Zatanna is known for her cheery disposition and her amazing magic shows. She's one of the most level headed heroes around, using her magic in the defense of mankind. She rarely loses her cool and this definitely helps her in her battles with all of the assorted demons, monsters, and dark gods she encounters. However, this doesn't mean that she can't be scary or hardcore. Zatanna is known and feared throughout the magical world of the DC Universe. She's a hyper competent magic user who rarely fails. Her enemies may have underestimated her at first, but over the years they've learned differently. 5/11 Scarlet Witch: Impressive Feats Scarlet Witch's powers have increased exponentially over the years. She went from just being able to use her hex powers to mess with her opponents to learning to use powerful magic to being able to actually change reality. During the events of "Avengers Disassembled", she was able to conjure up all kinds of old Avengers threats, including multiple Ultrons and a Kree armada. However, that was nothing compared to what she did in House Of M. Scarlet Witch was able to completely change the world, making mutants the dominant species and giving all of her hero friends their heart's desires. However, after that went south, she depowered the vast majority of the mutant population, leaving only 198 out of what was once millions. 4/11 Zatanna: Impressive Mindwipes Identity Crisis is an extremely polarizing story for a lot of reasons. A lot of fans didn't like how Sue Dibny was treated in the book and their criticisms are very valid. However, one of the best parts of the story is the conspiracy inside the Justice League as a group of heroes decided to mindwipe Dr. Light after his horrific assault of Sue Dibny. It was even revealed that this wasn't the first time the League had to do this to one of their opponents. The power behind these mindwipes? Zatanna. She was able to use her magic to mess with the minds of the League's opponents... and one of their members. 3/11 Scarlet Witch: One Of The Most Powerful Beings In The Universe It's impossible to downplay how powerful Scarlet Witch really is. Usually, it takes some kind of object of ultimate power to do some of things that Scarlet Witch has done. Her feats during the "Avengers: Disassembled" storyline were amazing enough, but completely altering the reality of the planet? That's some next level power right there and that's not even taking into consideration that her little declaration of "No More Mutants" was revealed in Warren Ellis's criminally underrated Astonishing X-Men run to have affected the entire multiverse. Wanda Maximoff is easily one of the most powerful beings in the entire Marvel Universe. 2/11 Zatanna: Push Past The Limits Zatanna is not the powerful magic user in the DC Universe. People like the Phantom Stranger, Doctor Fate, or Madame Xanadu are more powerful and experienced than her. Her unique spellcasting ability gives her the upper hand in many contests but from a power level perspective, she's not the most powerful. Zatanna knows her limits and what she can and can't do, but she doesn't let that stop her. She's learned to use her limits to her advantage and take down enemies that she shouldn't have any chance against because of this. 1/11 Winner: Zatanna Yes, Scarlet Witch is way more powerful than Zatanna. When one can change reality, they hold the upper hand in a lot of situations. However, Scarlet Witch doesn't just start a fight by changing the universe around her opponent. Zatanna is smart. She's had to think her way through way more fights than Scarlet Witch against opponents who are more powerful than her and she's usually on her own in these battles. Zatanna isn't going to let the fight get to a point where Scarlet Witch can overpower her.

Zatanna doesn't even scale beyond Multiversal, Scarlet Witch is within Outerversal. Lets remember that Scarlet Witch blocked the House of Ideas blast of the force of creation, aka, the center of all Marvel comics, as well as withstanding shots from Chaos & single handedly blocking Eternity. Also, its noted in the canon crossover that Scarlet Witch's Chaos Magic is even stronger in the DC universe than in Marvel, so if Scarlet Witch came to DC, her Chaos Magic would drag Zatanna even harder.

Meanwhile, Scarlet Witch doesn't need to think out her spells or say them, she can just immediately cast them without hesitation, so her casting speed exceeds Zatanna's. Plus, Zatanna, at best, doesn't scale past Multiversal while Scarlet Witch has tapped into Outerversal, even nearly touching Boundless. Death Battle stupidly over focused on Scarlet Witch's House of M story line, which is so biased & ridiculous, downplaying Scarlet Witch's other feats & skills. She should've won this battle.

SW wins vs Zatanna, but Raven vs SW is about even. I think Unkindness maybe be even more powerful than Chaos Wave SW. Zatanna vs Magik. That would be a closer battle.

@@welp3694 Wanda was amped with the life force, just as unkindness was amped with the souls of the four horsemen. Unkindness was inches from destroying the dc multiverse until she was stopped. The Chaos Wave would have destroyed everything if Meggan had not have stopped it. Lots of similarities. When amped, they are pretty similar. Chaos Wave was like dominoes, where the dominos slowly fell apart. While the unkindness was like jenga, where unkindness kept picking away until it hit the final one that had the dc multiverse collapse.
Zatanna is Becoming DC's Scarlet Witch - And That's a Big Mistake This may sound familiar. A woman with superpowers whose limits are unclear wields them recklessly. As a result, the entire universe is threatened. Or perhaps this one: that same woman attempts to make a situation better by eliminating a threat and, in turn, brings near ruin to her allies. Wanda has been as mentally stable as z for years. I hate when they do battles with wanda and use her house of m mental stability instead of looking at her more recent comics. Wanda currently beats z.
She really doesn't when their powers and feats are some what synonymous. Just cause zatanna doesn't preform her spell in an extreme ways doesn't mean she cant defeat sw.

However, none are as beloved - and as gifted - as Marvel’s Scarlet Witch and DC’s Zatanna. So, if the two powerful sorcerers ever fought, who would win, and why? It would be an incredibly close fight, but Scarlet Witch would beat Zatanna more often than not. She can cast spells faster, alter reality to a much larger degree, and has fewer moral obligations than Zatanna, who promised her father not to use dark magic. Wanda Maximoff went unhinged numerous times, using all her power to hurt others, whereas Zatanna makes sure not to kill. While some might consider that a strength, in a fight against somebody as powerful as Scarlet Witch, it’s a weakness, to say the least. Still, there are ways in which the DC fan-favorite sorcerer can take this fight. Let’s compare their powers in depth. Physiology The powers of almost every superhero start with their physiology. Scarlet Witch and Zatanna aren’t different. Still, they don’t rely on physicality to beat their opponents or even survive, and there are clear differences between the two. Wanda Maximoff is a human mutant with a genetic disorder that allows her access to some superpowers. Before she ever gained access to her magical powers - which are now the pillar of who Scarlet Witch is as a character - Wanda already had mild reality-warping powers and energy-projecting abilities stemming from her mutation. So, Wanda is a human mutant that became a sorcerer later in life - somewhere around her mid-teenage years. She has the physical strength of a normal human being but can use her powers to go up to par with incredibly strong characters such as Thor. As for her durability, she’s vulnerable to physical damage as any other human being - meaning, even a hard hit on the head could kill her - but with her incredible powers, Wanda is sometimes nearly immortal and can even resurrect herself. Basically, she has the physiology of a regular human but can use her powers for either attack or defense. Zatanna is something similar, but not quite the same. She is a Homo Magi, or, as known in the DC Universe, a human born with magical abilities. Her genetic composition allows her to use magic but is generally the same as a human. Just like Wanda, Zatanna has human physiology (regular physical strength, durability, etc.) but can amplify it with her powers and magical abilities. Virtually, the two characters are different, but again, the same - human physiology with a slight genetic mutation/composition change. It’d be silly to try and determine which one is better, so they both get points in the physiology department. Point(s): Scarlet Witch (1:1) Zatanna Experience Now, their experience levels are probably about the same as well. In earlier days, I’d say Zatanna probably had the upper hand. You see, she was born into a magical family - her father was one of the most skilled sorcerers in the world. Zatanna has practiced magic since she was a little girl - it comes naturally to her as breathing. With time, she learned various types of magic and fought countless enemies that were above her power-wise, but she still managed to defeat them using her wits and tricks. On the other hand, Wanda and her brother, Pietro, were born as mutants but didn’t really have anybody to teach them how to use their powers when they were kids. It wasn’t until her teenage days that Scarlet Witch started using her powers with more control - and even gained additional powers once she started controlling Chaos Magic bestowed upon her by Chthon. Yes, we learn that Chthon came to her and chose Wanda the day she was born (Avengers #186), but she didn’t really know how to control or use those powers until her teens. If you took teenage Zatanna and teenage Wanda, Zatanna would crush her, as she learned to harness her magical abilities from a young age. However, over time, Wanda faced so many threats, fought so many battles, and did so many things that her experience is - at least - a match to Zatanna’s. They were both members of the most powerful heroic teams in their respective universes - Marvel’s Avengers and DC’s Justice League - and both operated solo as well. Scarlet Witch and Zatanna both deserve experience points. You can already see why the comparison between the two is so hard and polarizing among fans. Point(s): Scarlet Witch (2:2) Zatanna Magical Powers Zatanna had her magical abilities since she was born, and from the get-go, she had a family that taught her how to use the magic she possessed. Over the years, Zatanna learned all kinds of magic but usually used only her family’s traditional magic. The vast majority of Zatanna’s spells require a verbal component - an incantation that focuses, amplifies, or even completely generates the spell. And, if Zatanna can say something in reverse, it will happen - whatever it is. Even if it means singing Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody in reverse, it’ll conjure thunderbolts and lightning - very, very frightening! Her magical powers are incredibly diverse, and she can basically do anything, given enough time, power, and saying the correct incantations. Her magic includes generating and manipulating fire, ice, water, lightning, electricity, rocks, winds, light/darkness, etc. She also has telekinesis, telepathy, teleportation, interdimensional traveling, time travel/time freezing, flight, force field shields, etc. Also, Zatanna can deflect physical damage and reverse it to hurt the one who inflicted it instead of herself. There’s much more to her powers, including mild reality alteration. On the other hand, you have Scarlet Witch, who has control over Chaos Magic - dark magic that allows the wielder to alter reality to their will. That means Wanda, at her strongest self, can do whatever she can think of. That would include all the above-mentioned things Zatanna can do, plus biological manipulations, energy manipulation, absorption, and transferals - and even complete reality alteration, changing the reality of an entire planet, possibly even the universe. Even if you take away the Chaos Magic, Scarlet Witch still has the mutation that allows her to use her Hexes and similar skills that Zatanna simply doesn’t have. Both are incredibly powerful, but I believe Wanda’s powers are just slightly more diverse, which is why she gets the point in this category.
Part 2 Scarlet Witch vs. Zatanna Who Would Win and Why Point: Scarlet Witch (3:2) Zatanna Mental Stability & Intelligence Now, I won’t waste too many words on this category because the winner here is as clear as day. Zatanna is incredibly intelligent, composed, cool, and stable. The fact that she can remain calm even in the most stressful situations, and use her brains to outwit her opponents in those situations, is what allowed Zatanna to beat opponents that were twice as powerful as her. On the other hand, Scarlet Witch is as unstable as they come. She went off the rails numerous times and did things that no hero would ever do. Yes, she is more powerful when she goes insane, but then she has almost no control of her actions, emotions, or powers. That’s something a calm, composed sorcerer like Zatanna could easily exploit. Even when Wanda is mentally stable, she’s not as intellectually gifted as Zatanna. Don’t get me wrong, Scarlet Witch is smart, just not as smart as the DC’s sorcerer heroine. Zatanna wins this category by a landslide. Point: Zatanna (3:3) Scarlet Witch Best Features We’re all tied up now, so this category will be the deciding factor. Since Scarlet Witch and Zatanna come from different universes, we can’t really compare their mutual battles. What we can do, though, is to see who had the better features, victories, or accomplishments in their respective universes. As I said, Zatanna can will almost anything into existence by simply saying it backward. She once turned two vampires into pools of blood simply by saying “eb enog” - or “be gone” backward. She can also teleport through dimensions with a thought, trap incredibly powerful demons inside her hat, and so much more. Even if you take away her magic, Zatanna is an advanced martial artist and hand-to-hand combatant. In Zatanna Vol. 2 #1, we learn that her father taught her how to fight, sayings she should rely on her wits, and her fists should her magic fail. However, all that is nothing compared to what the Scarlet Witch was capable of on several occasions. Now, she is the most powerful when she goes insane and doesn’t always have access to such powers. Still, some of her features are very important to mention, as they put perspective on why some people call Wanda the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe. Remember the God of Chaos, Chthon, that I’ve mentioned earlier? You know, the guy that gave Wanda access to Chaos Magic and ultimately made her as powerful as she is? He’s sometimes referred to as the “multiversal cancer” and is widely considered one of the most powerful beings in the universe. He could destroy universes in a “blink of an eye,” killed Doctor Strange by simply being in his presence. His mere existence corrupted and poisoned Eternity - one of the oldest, most powerful entities ever to exist. Want to know what happened to Chthon? Well, Wanda completely decimated him. She ate Chthon - completely absorbed him and became the Goddess of Chaos, absorbing the True Darkhold, which contains “infinite knowledge” - meaning her magical skills are, quite literally, infinite. On another occasion, Wanda became the conduit of the Life Force, granting her unfathomable powers. She created the House of M - rewriting the entire planet’s reality, making Magneto the supreme leader and others his subordinates. At the end of the storyline, she simply uttered the words “no more mutants” and wiped off the powers of 99% of the mutants in the world. Later, in the Uncanny X-Men, it was revealed that those words affected not only the planet but the entire multiverse. Sure, Wanda’s powers were amplified then, and she lost them later, but you see where I’m going with this. DC fans, excuse me if I could not find the best of the best features Zatanna had ever done. I haven’t read all her comics, so these were the only ones I could think of and find through research. However, there’s a reason Wanda is considered to be one of the most powerful beings in the universe. She gets the point here, and it’s not even close. Point: Scarlet Witch (4:3) Zatanna Scarlet Witch vs. Zatanna: Who Wins? In the end, the scoreboard says 4:3 for Scarlet Witch, and I think that’s about the same number of victories she’d have against Zatanna in a seven-fight series. Wanda’s magic is certainly, undoubtedly more powerful, and, given her experience, she’d simply overpower Zatanna in most cases. Also, Zatanna never uses dark magic and never attacks to kill - only to defend herself or subdue the opponent. On the other hand, Wanda has no issues with killing, especially when she goes “unhinged,” which is yet another advantage for Scarlet Witch. However, DC’s sorcerer has a good chance, too, for several reasons. First, Zatanna’s intelligence and composure in battle would allow her to outthink and outsmart Scarlet Witch, especially when Wanda goes insane - which she does quite frequently. Also, Wanda has no real mental or telepathic protection. Zatanna could simply utter “peels” (sleep in reverse) and say nighty-nighty to Scarlet Witch. That is if she’s even given a chance to utter a single word before Wanda decimates her. In the end, if you take away their magic and it’s pure hand-to-hand combat, Zatanna beats Wanda, hands down. She had trained her entire life and is prolific in melee combat. Although Scarlet Witch also received training from Captain America, she’s just not on Zatanna’s level in that regard. To conclude, Scarlet Witch wins based on the sheer power and magnitude of her magic, but Zatanna has a solid chance at victory as well. It’d ultimately depend on the storyline and the writer’s preference.

I'm just saying that Death Battle didnt use Wanda how I thought she would be used and how she would be used. Zatanna beating the void has nothing to do with the battle. Those house of M events were over 10 years ago and wanda is now mentally stable so that's not how this would have played in the current situation and that wasn't even wandas peak form her current peak form is DH OMEGA they didn't even add her probability matter which could have change the entire fight outcome. Wanda was completely stripped of some abilities because all they focused on was her mental state when they failed to realize her current mental state which is stable and is stable enough to lead the avengers on missions as seen in one of the comics, wanda was also stripped of her teleportation when she teleport through dimensions but can't teleport out of a box. Zatanna said "No more witches" when she isn't even able to do that and people say but she broke the fourth wall and interacted with the human world although she did that while amplified and was still asking for help. Wanda is stronger in magic and equal in knowledge because of Chthon and the dark hold, and at full chaos magic she was able to eliminate anyone in her way with a flick of a finger as seen in one of the comics as well. People say oh but zatanna doesn't need incantation, she doesn't however when she uses her magic without incantation it's weaker and won't have as much as an effect on another person so her weakness is an incantation matter which wanda can easily use all her powers without it so she's faster than zatanna and that could have changed the battle as well. So did zatanna win or wanda, it could go either way but I would say wanda would have won especially in a death battle as she can trap her opponents in a universe where they are stripped from magic and abilities and then she can easily take them out so the real winner is: The Scarlet witch
if wanda would be mentally stable, learned and trained for a long time i think she can control her raw powers and have much more experience, in that way i think scarlet witch may win against zatanna:))

DB videos like this is why those Amalgam (DC & Marvel effort) in late 1990's made sure even out the playfield when it came to magic, speed and probability powers, because DC would always come up top in a predictable, tedious, boring way. She would normally beat Zatanna but because comics these days have unlimited resources and can make character do anything, we never really know. So currently Wanda would win, but whose to say some DC writer wont come and say Zatanna is the most powerful being in DC.

This TH-cam show reminds me a lot of that old TV show called like ultimate warrior. I've never been a big DC guy but I've always loved zartana's look and character and I would like to see a movie or HBO max show on her. Unfortunately Wanda's biggest problem is her unstable psyche and unfortunately had no chance against a even powered magic user that had a stable mind.
i just hope that after the events of darkhold omega #1 where wanda became the goddess of chaos as she defeated chthon, wanda became free from chthon's mind which is controlling her for years, i do need to see where scarlet witch wouldn't go insane and became powerful instead she's fully control by it with proper training with the bright side of being a witch, cuz i notice alot when they compare scarlet witch to someone, they would easily use wanda's mental stability as her weakness since she has more raw power, and without her mental health i'm pretty sure that wanda would win against zatanna

Death Battle was greatly inspired by Deadliest Warrior along with websites like Outskirts. Actually, IIRC, the showrunner's original pitch to ScrewAttack was "Deadliest Warrior, but for fictional characters." The show grew away from that style over time, but your mental connection is well-founded.
By way deathbattle talk about zatanna weakness in the past and she does have them anymore but they did not mention that scarlet witch does not have her weakness anymore in their video. Plus looking at the bio info on marvel and dc wiki scarlet witch has a list of more powers and and has more skills then zatanna.Scarlet should have won if we talking normally who wins.
@@TheCell111 They address the first point in one of the corner extra notes. Reaching the same level of power as Zatanna requires using the Life Force, which drives you insane no matter who you are. Wanda's emotional fragility was just coincidental, something for her own character arc. The Life Force drives you insane so long as you're using it, regardless of how at peace you are with your emotions.
As for the second point, both those wikis are notorious for getting major details wrong and being unreliable in VS Debate research. Nobody in the VS Battle community who knows what they're doing ever uses them. And, ignoring that, creating an entire infinite cosmological multiverse kind of includes all the possible skills and powers that can ever exist. Zatanna's magic can literally do anything up to that scale so long as she believes it can. To have her lose because the wikis have more specific listings for one character is the equivalent of claiming Green Lantern can't make a bucket and rag to wash windows because well, we've never SEEN him do it.

I think they are make a Zatanna movie which will be linked with Justice league Dark, but I think it's at a very early stage hopefully they are able to make it happen and cast someone that has great charisma and brings the character to life
From what I've read, it is pretty much confirmed that there will be a Zatanna movie coming out at some point in the DC cinematic universe at some point between now and the next few years. I really hope that it does not turn out to be a disappointment because DC really needs to catch up with the movies compared to Marvel.

Love you guys but the idea that “Marvel introduced weaknesses that DC’s characters didn’t have” is pretty inaccurate. For one, it assumes that both Marvel and DC are monoliths with singular intent. They’re not. They’re companies made up of hundreds (even thousands) of employees: artists, writers, editors, etc. On top of that, it glosses over the decades of publication these characters have gone through. Marvel didn’t really introduce the mental instability angle to Wanda’s personality until she had already been around for years. Like, probably around the time we saw that whole drama with her and Vision and their children. Also, a lot of DC characters have similar personality flaws and mental challenges. Ever hear of the Doom Patrol? Crazy Jane has DID. Robotman literally contends with being a brain in a robot body. Raven of the Teen Titans has a whole host of mental and emotional scarring. Roy Harper aka Red Arrow is a recovering drug addict. We could go on.

This makes sense but we gotta take the rules used in Death Battle into account. Even though normally Zatanna wouldn't use lethal spells it's different when we follow the rule they use where they basically make both characters blood lusted. The show is called Death Battle, so obviously both characters will be trying their best to kill each other.

What I don't like is that they hyper focused on Scarlet Witch's House of M story line of instability, acting like she's perpetually unstable & they ignored several of Scarlet Witch's other feats & abilities. Scarlet Witch has many forms of Manipulation, such as Elemental, Soul, Reality, Time Manipulation. Scarlet Witch has held back Eternity, with 1 hand, withstood direct shots from Chaos, blocked the blast of the force of creation from the House of Ideas itself, aka, the very center of Marvel comics, withstood a world destroying energy bullet to the neck, to name a few feats. Scarlet Witch wouldn't just fly into random insanity & get sliced in a box, like this. Death Battle is bullshit for this. Not to mention the obvious; Scarlet Witch can make her Chaos Wave Omniversal, weaving through every existing dimension, realm, reality & universe, which can't even be tampered with, since Doctor Strange said trying to mess with Scarlet Witch's Chaos Wave could result in all of creation shattering & being reduced down to a blob of a lifeless singularity. That's why even the Phoenix could reverse the Chaos Wave, but instead, countered it by recreating new X gene mutants in place of the 99% of mutants that Scarlet Witch depowered & erased. If the Phoenix can't even bring back the depowered mutants or stop the Chaos Wave, which Scarlet Witch can recreate, I don't know the hell Zatanna can beat her, considering Zatanna hasn't performed any definitive Omniversal destructive or creative feats yet.

Both of them have performed some pretty great feats of magic over the years. Both of them have amassed sizable fan followings and are favorites on the cosplay circuit.
Comic fans love to put their favorites up against each other and these two are no different. Each one is very powerful, but if they were to battle, which one would be the victor? This list is going to break down their strengths before crowning a winner.

Scarlet Witch: Master of Insanity
Scarlet Witch has lost her marbles more than once. Most people know about the time she nearly destroyed the Avengers during "Avengers: Disassembled" or the time she re-created the Marvel Universe in House Of M (expanded upon below), but these weren't even the times she went crazy, they were just the most well known.
Scarlet Witch loses her marbles a lot and while this may seem like a liability, losing control allows her to acess a level of power that she cannot reach when she is trying to remain calm and collected. For her, it truly is an asset.

Zatanna: Born This Way
Daughter of the magician Zatarra and Sindella, Zatanna is special offshoot of human called a homo magi. This means that she was born with magical ability. She grew up with the ability to use magic and learned from one of the most powerful sorcerers around, her father.
Magic for Zatanna is like breathing. It's always been a part of her life and she's gotten so good at it that beings from around the DC Universe come to her when they need help with mystical threats. When you're Batman's go-to whenever he has a magic problem, then you're pretty great at what you do.

Scarlet Witch: Hex Powers
Scarlet Witch's powers aren't actually magical in nature, at least they weren't at first. Her powers were classified as hex powers which required a certain level of training, power, and control to master. Using her abilities she was able to alter the probability of things happening around her.
This power would grow over the years and she would eventually learn to use magic, but at first her powers were not magic based at all which gives her a certain edge.

Zatanna: Spellcasting Tongue Twisters
Unlike a lot of other magic users, Zatanna doesn't need to learn spells or things like that. Of course, she does know spells and things of that nature because Zatanna is nothing if not a professional, but her actual spellcasting method is quite novel- she just has to say it backwards.
Anything she can say backwards, she can make happen. First off, it's just impressive that she can talk backwards so well. Secondly, it allows her to do just about anything she needs at any given time. Now, it's debatable if she can do some of the things that Scarlet Witch can do with her powers, but this still makes Zatanna a powerful foe.

Scarlet Witch: Ancient Education
Scarlet Witch would eventually learn actual magic from Agatha Harkness. Once the nanny of Franklin Richards, she would take Scarlet Witch under her wing and train her in the ways of magic. Agatha was revealed to be one of the original witches from Salem, Massachusetts.
Agatha is one of the most powerful witches around with hundreds of years experience. She has returned from the dead several times (one of those deaths was at Wanda's hands) and can use her magic to perform all kinds of amazing feats. Wanda couldn't have asked for a better teacher.

Zatanna: Known And Feared Throughout The Magical World
Zatanna is known for her cheery disposition and her amazing magic shows. She's one of the most level headed heroes around, using her magic in the defense of mankind. She rarely loses her cool and this definitely helps her in her battles with all of the assorted demons, monsters, and dark gods she encounters.
However, this doesn't mean that she can't be scary or hardcore. Zatanna is known and feared throughout the magical world of the DC Universe. She's a hyper competent magic user who rarely fails. Her enemies may have underestimated her at first, but over the years they've learned differently.

Scarlet Witch: Impressive Feats
Scarlet Witch's powers have increased exponentially over the years. She went from just being able to use her hex powers to mess with her opponents to learning to use powerful magic to being able to actually change reality. During the events of "Avengers Disassembled", she was able to conjure up all kinds of old Avengers threats, including multiple Ultrons and a Kree armada.
However, that was nothing compared to what she did in House Of M. Scarlet Witch was able to completely change the world, making mutants the dominant species and giving all of her hero friends their heart's desires. However, after that went south, she depowered the vast majority of the mutant population, leaving only 198 out of what was once millions.

Zatanna: Impressive Mindwipes
Identity Crisis is an extremely polarizing story for a lot of reasons. A lot of fans didn't like how Sue Dibny was treated in the book and their criticisms are very valid. However, one of the best parts of the story is the conspiracy inside the Justice League as a group of heroes decided to mindwipe Dr. Light after his horrific assault of Sue Dibny. It was even revealed that this wasn't the first time the League had to do this to one of their opponents.
The power behind these mindwipes? Zatanna. She was able to use her magic to mess with the minds of the League's opponents... and one of their members.

Scarlet Witch: One Of The Most Powerful Beings In The Universe
It's impossible to downplay how powerful Scarlet Witch really is. Usually, it takes some kind of object of ultimate power to do some of things that Scarlet Witch has done. Her feats during the "Avengers: Disassembled" storyline were amazing enough, but completely altering the reality of the planet?
That's some next level power right there and that's not even taking into consideration that her little declaration of "No More Mutants" was revealed in Warren Ellis's criminally underrated Astonishing X-Men run to have affected the entire multiverse. Wanda Maximoff is easily one of the most powerful beings in the entire Marvel Universe.

Zatanna: Push Past The Limits
Zatanna is not the powerful magic user in the DC Universe. People like the Phantom Stranger, Doctor Fate, or Madame Xanadu are more powerful and experienced than her. Her unique spellcasting ability gives her the upper hand in many contests but from a power level perspective, she's not the most powerful.
Zatanna knows her limits and what she can and can't do, but she doesn't let that stop her. She's learned to use her limits to her advantage and take down enemies that she shouldn't have any chance against because of this.

Yes, Scarlet Witch is way more powerful than Zatanna. When one can change reality, they hold the upper hand in a lot of situations. However, Scarlet Witch doesn't just start a fight by changing the universe around her opponent.
Zatanna is smart. She's had to think her way through way more fights than Scarlet Witch against opponents who are more powerful than her and she's usually on her own in these battles. Zatanna isn't going to let the fight get to a point where Scarlet Witch can overpower her.

Scarlet Witch is already stated to be a threat to all of creation, on top of wielding the oldest & strongest Marcel magic, Chaos Magic. Plus, Scarlet Witch is 1 of the few people who is stated, by Black Panther himself, to be able to destroy the Phoenix Force, as well all know, a cosmic entity that can consume all of existence. Zatanna doesn't even scale beyond Multiversal, Scarlet Witch is within Outerversal. We know Zatanna need 1 of 2 things to cast her spells; to either say them out loud or to think them. Meanwhile, Scarlet Witch doesn't need to think out her spells or say them, she can just immediately cast them without hesitation, so her casting speed exceeds Zatanna's. Throughout Marvel and DC Comics universes, there are numerous incredibly powerful magicians and sorcerers. However, none are as beloved - and as gifted - as Marvel’s Scarlet Witch and DC’s Zatanna. So, if the two powerful sorcerers ever fought, who would win, and why?
It would be an incredibly close fight, but Scarlet Witch would beat Zatanna more often than not. She can cast spells faster, alter reality to a much larger degree, and has fewer moral obligations than Zatanna, who promised her father not to use dark magic.
Wanda Maximoff went unhinged numerous times, using all her power to hurt others, whereas Zatanna makes sure not to kill. While some might consider that a strength, in a fight against somebody as powerful as Scarlet Witch, it’s a weakness, to say the least. Still, there are ways in which the DC fan-favorite sorcerer can take this fight. Let’s compare their powers in depth.
Physiology
The powers of almost every superhero start with their physiology. Scarlet Witch and Zatanna aren’t different. Still, they don’t rely on physicality to beat their opponents or even survive, and there are clear differences between the two.
Wanda Maximoff is a human mutant with a genetic disorder that allows her access to some superpowers. Before she ever gained access to her magical powers - which are now the pillar of who Scarlet Witch is as a character - Wanda already had mild reality-warping powers and energy-projecting abilities stemming from her mutation.
So, Wanda is a human mutant that became a sorcerer later in life - somewhere around her mid-teenage years. She has the physical strength of a normal human being but can use her powers to go up to par with incredibly strong characters such as Thor.
As for her durability, she’s vulnerable to physical damage as any other human being - meaning, even a hard hit on the head could kill her - but with her incredible powers, Wanda is sometimes nearly immortal and can even resurrect herself. Basically, she has the physiology of a regular human but can use her powers for either attack or defense.
Zatanna is something similar, but not quite the same. She is a Homo Magi, or, as known in the DC Universe, a human born with magical abilities. Her genetic composition allows her to use magic but is generally the same as a human.
Just like Wanda, Zatanna has human physiology (regular physical strength, durability, etc.) but can amplify it with her powers and magical abilities.
Virtually, the two characters are different, but again, the same - human physiology with a slight genetic mutation/composition change. It’d be silly to try and determine which one is better, so they both get points in the physiology department.

Experience
Now, their experience levels are probably about the same as well. In earlier days, I’d say Zatanna probably had the upper hand. You see, she was born into a magical family - her father was one of the most skilled sorcerers in the world. Zatanna has practiced magic since she was a little girl - it comes naturally to her as breathing.
With time, she learned various types of magic and fought countless enemies that were above her power-wise, but she still managed to defeat them using her wits and tricks.
On the other hand, Wanda and her brother, Pietro, were born as mutants but didn’t really have anybody to teach them how to use their powers when they were kids. It wasn’t until her teenage days that Scarlet Witch started using her powers with more control - and even gained additional powers once she started controlling Chaos Magic bestowed upon her by Chthon.
Yes, we learn that Chthon came to her and chose Wanda the day she was born (Avengers #186), but she didn’t really know how to control or use those powers until her teens.
If you took teenage Zatanna and teenage Wanda, Zatanna would crush her, as she learned to harness her magical abilities from a young age. However, over time, Wanda faced so many threats, fought so many battles, and did so many things that her experience is - at least - a match to Zatanna’s.
They were both members of the most powerful heroic teams in their respective universes - Marvel’s Avengers and DC’s Justice League - and both operated solo as well. Scarlet Witch and Zatanna both deserve experience points. You can already see why the comparison between the two is so hard and polarizing among fans.

Magical Powers
Zatanna had her magical abilities since she was born, and from the get-go, she had a family that taught her how to use the magic she possessed. Over the years, Zatanna learned all kinds of magic but usually used only her family’s traditional magic.
The vast majority of Zatanna’s spells require a verbal component - an incantation that focuses, amplifies, or even completely generates the spell. And, if Zatanna can say something in reverse, it will happen - whatever it is. Even if it means singing Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody in reverse, it’ll conjure thunderbolts and lightning - very, very frightening!
Her magical powers are incredibly diverse, and she can basically do anything, given enough time, power, and saying the correct incantations. Her magic includes generating and manipulating fire, ice, water, lightning, electricity, rocks, winds, light/darkness, etc.
She also has telekinesis, telepathy, teleportation, interdimensional traveling, time travel/time freezing, flight, force field shields, etc. Also, Zatanna can deflect physical damage and reverse it to hurt the one who inflicted it instead of herself. There’s much more to her powers, including mild reality alteration.
On the other hand, you have Scarlet Witch, who has control over Chaos Magic - dark magic that allows the wielder to alter reality to their will. That means Wanda, at her strongest self, can do whatever she can think of.
That would include all the above-mentioned things Zatanna can do, plus biological manipulations, energy manipulation, absorption, and transferals - and even complete reality alteration, changing the reality of an entire planet, possibly even the universe.
Even if you take away the Chaos Magic, Scarlet Witch still has the mutation that allows her to use her Hexes and similar skills that Zatanna simply doesn’t have. Both are incredibly powerful, but I believe Wanda’s powers are just slightly more diverse, which is why she gets the point in this category.

Mental Stability & Intelligence
Now, I won’t waste too many words on this category because the winner here is as clear as day. Zatanna is incredibly intelligent, composed, cool, and stable. The fact that she can remain calm even in the most stressful situations, and use her brains to outwit her opponents in those situations, is what allowed Zatanna to beat opponents that were twice as powerful as her.
On the other hand, Scarlet Witch is as unstable as they come. She went off the rails numerous times and did things that no hero would ever do. Yes, she is more powerful when she goes insane, but then she has almost no control of her actions, emotions, or powers. That’s something a calm, composed sorcerer like Zatanna could easily exploit.
Even when Wanda is mentally stable, she’s not as intellectually gifted as Zatanna. Don’t get me wrong, Scarlet Witch is smart, just not as smart as the DC’s sorcerer heroine. Zatanna wins this category by a landslide.

Best Features
We’re all tied up now, so this category will be the deciding factor. Since Scarlet Witch and Zatanna come from different universes, we can’t really compare their mutual battles. What we can do, though, is to see who had the better features, victories, or accomplishments in their respective universes.
As I said, Zatanna can will almost anything into existence by simply saying it backward. She once turned two vampires into pools of blood simply by saying “eb enog” - or “be gone” backward.
She can also teleport through dimensions with a thought, trap incredibly powerful demons inside her hat, and so much more. Even if you take away her magic, Zatanna is an advanced martial artist and hand-to-hand combatant. In Zatanna Vol. 2 #1, we learn that her father taught her how to fight, sayings she should rely on her wits, and her fists should her magic fail.
However, all that is nothing compared to what the Scarlet Witch was capable of on several occasions. Now, she is the most powerful when she goes insane and doesn’t always have access to such powers. Still, some of her features are very important to mention, as they put perspective on why some people call Wanda the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe.
Remember the God of Chaos, Chthon, that I’ve mentioned earlier? You know, the guy that gave Wanda access to Chaos Magic and ultimately made her as powerful as she is? He’s sometimes referred to as the “multiversal cancer” and is widely considered one of the most powerful beings in the universe.
He could destroy universes in a “blink of an eye,” killed Doctor Strange by simply being in his presence. His mere existence corrupted and poisoned Eternity - one of the oldest, most powerful entities ever to exist. Want to know what happened to Chthon?
Well, Wanda completely decimated him. She ate Chthon - completely absorbed him and became the Goddess of Chaos, absorbing the True Darkhold, which contains “infinite knowledge” - meaning her magical skills are, quite literally, infinite.
On another occasion, Wanda became the conduit of the Life Force, granting her unfathomable powers. She created the House of M - rewriting the entire planet’s reality, making Magneto the supreme leader and others his subordinates. At the end of the storyline, she simply uttered the words “no more mutants” and wiped off the powers of 99% of the mutants in the world.
Later, in the Uncanny X-Men, it was revealed that those words affected not only the planet but the entire multiverse. Sure, Wanda’s powers were amplified then, and she lost them later, but you see where I’m going with this.
DC fans, excuse me if I could not find the best of the best features Zatanna had ever done. I haven’t read all her comics, so these were the only ones I could think of and find through research. However, there’s a reason Wanda is considered to be one of the most powerful beings in the universe. She gets the point here, and it’s not even close.
Point: Scarlet Witch (4:3) Zatanna
Scarlet Witch vs. Zatanna: Who Wins?
In the end, the scoreboard says 4:3 for Scarlet Witch, and I think that’s about the same number of victories she’d have against Zatanna in a seven-fight series. Wanda’s magic is certainly, undoubtedly more powerful, and, given her experience, she’d simply overpower Zatanna in most cases.
Also, Zatanna never uses dark magic and never attacks to kill - only to defend herself or subdue the opponent. On the other hand, Wanda has no issues with killing, especially when she goes “unhinged,” which is yet another advantage for Scarlet Witch.
However, DC’s sorcerer has a good chance, too, for several reasons. First, Zatanna’s intelligence and composure in battle would allow her to outthink and outsmart Scarlet Witch, especially when Wanda goes insane - which she does quite frequently.
Also, Wanda has no real mental or telepathic protection. Zatanna could simply utter “peels” (sleep in reverse) and say nighty-nighty to Scarlet Witch. That is if she’s even given a chance to utter a single word before Wanda decimates her.
In the end, if you take away their magic and it’s pure hand-to-hand combat, Zatanna beats Wanda, hands down. She had trained her entire life and is prolific in melee combat. Although Scarlet Witch also received training from Captain America, she’s just not on Zatanna’s level in that regard.
To conclude, Scarlet Witch wins based on the sheer power and magnitude of her magic, but Zatanna has a solid chance at victory as well. It’d ultimately depend on the storyline and the writer’s preference.

I agree with the part that zatanna would hardly use lethal magic but wanda has no problem using it, so for me it's a draw because zatanna doesn't normally use his power in full, wanda would need to threaten the universe for what zatanna uses make the most of her powers but that's precisely why she became so good at solving problems on the fly and "ending" enemies, she needs to be well prepared because she knows that her enemies won't think twice about killing her for that she is a master of banishing, transforming, defense, escape, healing and enemy control spells, that is, game control and subjugation spells. zatana doesn't have a weaker level of power than wanda since zatanna has defeated the void (which is stronger than a god) but zatanna practically doesn't use lethal magic she uses magic that hurts but hardly kills, in exceptions when her creature has a lot of evil and is causing universal disturbances.

But what I am saying though is that, Death battle did fail to mention Wanda during the Darkhold comics which puts her in a different perspective. All I'm saying is this, Dearh battle is not correct in the fact that they pick specific versions of the characters. They may have picked Wanda at her most unstable and Zatanna at her most stable. They could have picked Wanda at her most stable and Zatanna at her most unstable. It's all up to what version they pick, how they think the characters will use their powers and whatnot. They only true way to know which character would win is to get the newest writer or Zatanna and Scarlet Witch together and make them write it out or talk about it. Those house of M events were over 10 years ago and wanda is now mentally stable so that's not how this would have played in the current situation and that wasn't even wandas peak form her current peak form is DH OMEGA they didn't even add her probability matter which could have change the entire fight outcome. Wanda was completely stripped of some abilities because all they focused on was her mental state when they failed to realize her current mental state which is stable and is stable enough to lead the avengers on missions as seen in one of the comics, wanda was also stripped of her teleportation when she teleport through dimensions but can't teleport out of a box. Zatanna said "No more witches" when she isn't even able to do that and people say but she broke the fourth wall and interacted with the human world although she did that while amplified and was still asking for help. Wanda is stronger in magic and equal in knowledge because of Chthon and the dark hold, and at full chaos magic she was able to eliminate anyone in her way with a flick of a finger as seen in one of the comics as well. People say oh but zatanna doesn't need incantation, she doesn't however when she uses her magic without incantation it's weaker and won't have as much as an effect on another person so her weakness is an incantation matter which wanda can easily use all her powers without it so she's faster than zatanna and that could have changed the battle as well. So did zatanna win or wanda, it could go either way but I would say wanda would have won especially in a death battle as she can trap her opponents in a universe where they are stripped from magic and abilities and then she can easily take them out so the real winner is:

DB videos like this is why those Amalgam (DC & Marvel effort) in late 1990's made sure even out the playfield when it came to magic, speed and probability powers, because DC would always come up top in a predictable, tedious, boring way.

It seems like whenever Death Battle does Marvel vs DC (or really anything vs DC) DC almost always wins. I pretty much always bet on DC in these matches.
DC has only won one more fight against Marvel than vice versa after this episode. Before this, Marvel even had a 4-0 win streak against DC.

She would normally beat Zatanna but because comics these days have unlimited resources and can make character do anything, we never really know. So currently Wanda would win, but whose to say some DC writer wont come and say Zatanna is the most powerful being in DC.
