I like Scottie Pippen. Not only one of the greatest to ever do it but also a man that is always soft spoken even if you don't like what he has to say. I believe this is simple. I don't care if you are a professional or not, playing alongside Michael all those yrs had to be humbling knowing that you were not the man and never would be. So then you move on with life trying to accept that and then years later a documentary comes out depicting all the great things Michael did over that Bull run and you get mentioned with the migraine etc. It's not Michaels fault but I feel Scottie just wanted to be acknowledged in that documentary in a more prominent manner along with the rest of his teammates. He earned it!! And I believe it just all came out of him at that point and he couldn't hold back. Give the guy a break. He's probably a great dude but unfortunately even with all that fame and money at the end of the day he is human. End of story!!
Word, like Micheal said, wherever they mentioned MJ they should have in this documentary mentioned Pippen. I dont think it is lost on us how great MJ was!!! But the makings of the Last Dance were what basket ball enthusiasts deserved to uncover 🥂
a lifelong Chicago Bulls fan, I've lost all respect for Scottie Pippen. How can it be that in the 90s Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan allegedly didn't get along, quarreled, etc, even though they trained together every morning in Michael Jordan's house, together with ron Harper, the famous breakfast club .? And how can it be that in 2010, when Scottie Pippen was inducted into the Hall of Fame, Michael Jordan was his Representative Oh And now Scottie Pippen is crying that the Chicago Bulls got along well without Michael Jordan. Then why did he want Michael Jordan to return all this 1994 season? When both retired from the NBA, you could see them together in the box or sitting at the front of the field, laughing together, etc. And now Scottie Pippen tells us that the two never had a friendship? How can it be that Scottie Pippen even took part in the last dance documentary, where he knew that it was mainly about Michael Jordan? Then he shouldn't have participated there at all. And Michael Jordan was not the producer, he is not listed on such, nowhere is there anything from a fee. Jeez, a company had Michael Jordan the last time I think $ 100 million for an hour gig and he just turned it down because he didn't feel like it. So what should he do with a sticky $ 10 million from Netflix or whoever? And we shouldn't forget that in a number of interviews, especially when Scottie Pippen has been on ESPN or another show, he always defended Michael Jordan and always talked good things about him. And suddenly, Scottie Pippen brings out his weird popcorn and his book and all of a sudden Michael Jordan is the bad guy. Absolutely, Michael Jordan is just bad and every day there is a new story about how bad and bad Michael Jordan treated him. Seriously Scottie? Get treatment, go to the psychiatrist or the therapist or whatever. But that's just ridiculous, trying to sell a book on the back of your former teammate, the best basketball player of all time and, and most importantly, your former boyfriend. Then at a certain point in time you were definitely friends, it couldn't have been any different.
Yeah like punching Steve in the face, that had to try and cover things up cause he was the face of bb. He left out Luke in the documentary and made up for it on Australian Strory, in his own words he admitted it. Its no coincidence the doc came out out LeBron peak. Mike was tough to deal with that even rodman didn't want to mess with him, mj would make up scenario's in his head so he could punish other players on the court lol. I'm sure there friends but it wasn't always easy.
Scottie Pippen is jealous of Michael Jordan because Mike still making money, and Scottie is not! Mike is always getting bigger and bigger, while Scottie and the other players have been forgotten, Everyone still talks about Mike, and we all know, that Mike is just the Goat, and he will never ever be forgotten! Michael Jordan success had nothing to do with Pippen, Mike is just Mike and whether he played with Bulls or not, He will still be the Goat!
Here’s what Scottie should know: if Jordan had been with another team and they won championships, all those teammates would feel the same. Sorry folks, there’s only room for one GOAT.
I don't think he was bashing MJ. He said that MJ at times could be selfish and that's true. He made it clear that neither one of would be successful without each other. That's the greatest compliment.
Bro Jordan literally said that he couldn't do it without Pippen. Pippen was hardly a liability if Jordan says so himself. You think you know better than Jordan?
Pip needs help after everything he has been through. Throwing someone under the bus after all the wars you've shared together in the court is sad, just to sell a book. I hope he gets the help he needed.
It wasn't just Scottie Pippen that had a successful basketball career post Bulls. Horace Grant, John Salley, Steve Kerr, and Ron Harper all won titles with the Spurs and the Lakers respectively. And Dennis Rodman went to the NBA playoffs with the Spurs and the Lakers as well. It wasn't just all about Michael Jordan! Jordan had a team around him that made Chicago a success during those championship years with the Bulls! Michael Jordan fronted on Scottie Pippen!
He’s a bit delusional. He criticises MJ for being big headed but at least MJ backs it up. Scottie is just as big headed but he simply was never on the performance level of MJ.

I lived in Chicago from '86 to '90 and it was a great time to go to the Old Barn and watch the Bulls get better and better. It must be difficult to see a teammate get all the accolades and money, Scottie had family issues back in Arkansas and he took the safe contract rather than waiting and cashing in. I loved watching MJ, Scottie and Horace Grant grow to dominate but someone will always get upset about something behind the scenes. After a while, Scottie will likely admit that he was jealous or took it too personally and mend the relationship with MJ and Phil.
People are overreacting lol, scottie is selling his book, of course he needs something to boost the sales. But whether the content is satisfying or not he has the right to tell his story. So everybody needs to chill.
Y’all gotta remember this man just got cheated on and he lost a son. His insecurities and the pain have caused the negative side of his ego to take the wheel:
Tony Kukoc shut him up against the knicks, dude refused to go in and he said Jordan was Selfish. Still one of the greatest all around players Edit: The leading vote-getter for the All-NBA First Team and the NBA All-Defensive First Team, Pippen ranked eighth in the league in scoring (22.0), 23rd in rebounding (8.7), 19th in assists (5.6), and second in steals (2.93). 3 steals a game geez.
Pip complains Jordan was selfish and that it is a team game however the when it was him not being a team player by letting someone else take the shot, he refused to go into the game and left his team on their own, luckily Toni made the shot and got the win. Pip take a look in the mirror and grow up.
Scottie just doesn’t see himself as the second. He wants to be seen as equal, but they aren’t. Jordan knows he wouldn’t have gotten there without pippen. he said it in his induction speech.

Pippen did Jordan so dirty, and all that after Jordan, even in his retirement speech, said that without Pippen there is no championships. Pippens a snake only trying to sell his book.
Watching this in context, rather than all mashed up in soundbites, I actually see where he's coming from. I don't even think he takes himself all that seriously in that last statement. He's obviously just selling a book.
Almost everyone that was Jordan's teammate during the championship years practically have nothing negative to say about Jordan. Horse Grant had some things to say but even he didn't take away from Jordan's greatness or throw Jordan completely down the stairs as far as comments. It has to be that Scotty's trying to get clout off of this and get more attention towards his book because I don't know how someone goes this many years talking positive then suddenly start shitting all over someone that they worked with for so many years. I watched the different interviews with Pippen, and he makes a good point as far as that's not really knowing what it was like in the locker room when he was basically calling Phil a racist for giving Kukoc the ball over him. I really shouldn't care about this but growing in Indiana less than forty minutes away from Chicago and watching the bulls during this time and liking both players kind of messes with me seeing this kind of animus coming from Pippin.
0:18 everything? Where it´s his ROTY Trophy? Or his DPOY trophy? Or his MVP trophy? Well... I know a guy that used to play in chicago aswell and have all those trophies.
All of Pippen’s bad moments in basketball were brought on by himself. Being negative about the more successful people from his past sells his book. Without Pippen, Jordan could still be considered the greatest. Without Jordan, Pippen would definitely not have been in HOF and likely just considered another good player during his time.
Not a chance. Had Pippen teamed up with any other team at the time Jordan would be just another selfish and dumb ball hog that scores a lot. We have plenty of those around. A HOF nothing more. Without the RINGS Jordan wouldn't even be considered better than Dr.J or Bird. While Pippen would most definitely be in the HOF like Drexler, Barkley, etc... I think you need to re watch those tapes and recall how great he was.
@@VelhaGuardaTricolor False. Pippen was the 3rd SF taken in the draft because coming out of college he was a small school prospect with potential but he wasn't a can't miss like a LeBron. He could've flammed out like the 2 guys drafted before him but he was put in a position to grow and develop alongside because he didn't need to be THEE GUY. That was Jordan. All he had to do was compliment Jordan, which he did greatly but we saw what Scottie did when asked to be the guy... He flamed out on good teams. Lost to Knicks in 94 ECFs and blew a 15 pt 4th quarter lead in the 2000 WCF vs Lakers. Pip is great... But he needed Jordan as much as Jordan needed him.
Scottie's comments made no sense at all.........Mike praises him over and over in the Last Dance, and literally says Scottie was his best teammate that he played with, and that he couldn't have won without him.
Pippen was in fact the "greatest teammate of all time". No one else has given that much to a team and asked as little in return. He didn't get enough respect in "The Last Dance". I watched the Bulls all those championship years. Was and still am a huge MJ fan. But the fact is that the Bulls won many games BECAUSE of Pippen, even in the clutch, when MJ couldn't finish. MJ would've won probably one chip if it weren't for Pippen. Pippen guarded the best players. They don't talk about those things. This dude was a BEAST. Facts.
Well, if you just take the second best player off the team, of course they're gonna be worse. But there were probably 30 players in the league they could have replaced Pippen with and still won 6.
@@TheVoodooVegetable Pippen was All-Defensive 12x, lead the team in Assists, Steals and Blocked Shots. He was listed as one of the 50 Best Players (now 75 players), was on the Dream Team, and in 1994 (when MJ was retired) was voted 3rd place in the MVP race and got All-Star MVP. I don't think there were 30 others players as good as him -- certainly not 30 who'd take a "backseat" without conflict with teammates.
@@lucidiame Pippen was an 8 time All defensive first team and twice on the second team. He led the team in steals 1 season while Jordan was playing, Jordan led every other year. Their block numbers were nearly identical, except Jordan has the greatest block numbers of any guard all time. I watched those Bulls. No one, not a single person in the 90s, would have argued Pippen was a better defender than Jordan. It wasn't particularly close. 30 players ahead of Pip in the 90s is a bit of an exaggeration. But, put a player like Mitch Richmond or Eddie Jones on the Bulls instead of Pippen and we'd be talking about how good they were. As Kevin Garnett said: When teams prepared for the Bulls in the 90s no one even mentioned Pippen. They didn't care. They hardly bothered to guard him.
All you have to do is watch Pippen highlights and it's easy to see Pip could do anything on the basketball court that Jordan could do. He could dunk on anyone, score at will, steal, block shots, rebound, Pippen did it all while always keeping his teammates involved. That's why Scottie Pippen is and will always be my favorite player. His game speaks for itself.
Tony was more clutch than Pip that’s why he got the last shot, he’ll Paxon & Kerr have hit bigger shots than him. He blew a 20 point lead in the 4th quarter of game 7 in the WCF because he wasn’t a closer.
The reality is when you look at the league and the competition at that time.... Jordan and Pippen playing together was equivalent to Kobe and Lebron playing together.... you can understand how lebron and Kobe would feel
It breaks my heart to hear Scottie pippen say the things you say it was Michael Jordan's selfishness and competitiveness is what it took to make you a champion Scotty so who really is the selfish one here?
I hope they get to fix their relationship. Jordan and Pippen owe it to each other, they get to sleep soundly at night knowing their legacy of 6 championships, 6-0 in the finals and the greatest team record ever in a season.
I hope jordan never talks to Scottie again: if Scottie out on the streets begging for money I hope Jordan says “if you can ask for spare change you can say welcome to McDonald’s can I take your order” lmao
It is sad and quite frustrating to see the 2 best players ever in the NBA will have this kind of relationship going to their old age. While there are certain issues but in general failure of personal relationship like the messy divorce should not become a reason to destroy a friendship , partnership that many players in the NBA wish to have. MJ may not be the best person but certainly he treasures his team.. It is so happen that he was given a talent that really exceeds almost anyone in the league at that time.
What’s mind boggling to me is, people always wanna tell people how they should feel. The man wrote his memoirs how he seen the documentary. He honestly at least in this interview didn’t disrespect MJ. I don’t see it as jealous because these are his personal feelings. Also Strahan asked him how’d he wanted to be remembered. He didn’t ask him how he would be remembered or was he the greatest. I think every player from 1-15 wants to be remembered as the greatest if not they just simply don’t have any aspirations. Finally remember how he felt he was portrayed in the documentary is why he wrote the book. Now these are my thoughts my opinion don’t @me because 1.your not gonna change my opinion And 2.your comment will get deleted ! I said what I said!
All of you are missing the point. Michael Jordan had the final word to the documentary. There was no need to bring up all of the negatives of Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant. Instead of bashing his "brothers" that time could have been spent on short stories of Luc Longley, Brian Williams, Tex Winters, etc. I don't blame Pippen for expressing how he feels with this book.
Okay maybe I’m tripping but scotties mad that the last dance didn’t tell the story of the team instead it told the story of Michael. Then Scottie goes on to talk about how his book is to tell his story, it’s weird
He was asked how he'd want to be remembered. I think the truth of it is "not as second to or under the shadow of MJ," which is why I think his line fits. He isn't trying to say he's better or the best, just doesn't want to be remembered as being somebody's side kick.
I think Pip is the GOAT Team player. MJ is the GOAT individual player. One without the other has 0 rings. Batman and Robin. They made me a Bulls fan for life.
Scottie didn’t have to talk bad about Mike 2 tell his story when mike retired he wasn’t able to lead the bulls to a championship they have 6 rings focus on that because a prime Mj with another decent player and a good supporting cast would’ve got a 💍 ring
Being from LA I was a die-hard Laker fan but I have to say MJ was the greatest basketball player of all time. Pippen is great, but definitely not the greatest so he needs to check himself quick because he's making a fool of himself.

Pippen couldn't win the big one without Jordan, and Jordan couldn't win the big one until Pippen arrived, but...Jordan is still the best baller ever.
Yes, but MJ could and would win the big one with someone else instead of Pippen, who would be in the same class, like Penny Hardaway or Charles Barkley. Pippen on the other hand, had the chance to prove that he could win without MJ and he proved that he can't.
Are you really sure?
@@tubeless666 your comment made zero sense. When did Michael prove he could win without Scottie?
@@thuggathuggababy Did I say anything about proof? It's just my opinion that MJ would win those titles if he had another teamate of Pippen class. And that there were plenty of those. MJ never had the chance to prove that. Pippen on the other hand had multiple chances. When MJ retired for the first time, he had his first chance and couldn't lead the team to a title. And after MJs 2nd retirement he even joined a super team and still didn't achieve anything. MJ just needed another Hall of Famer. Pippen needed Jordan.

Underrated comment
This is the most well thought out and balanced comment on here.
Pippen was the greatest Sport’s sideman of all times! Nog the greatest player!
a lifelong Chicago Bulls fan, I've lost all respect for Scottie Pippen. How can it be that in the 90s Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan allegedly didn't get along, quarreled, etc, even though they trained together every morning in Michael Jordan's house, together with ron Harper, the famous breakfast club .? And how can it be that in 2010, when Scottie Pippen was inducted into the Hall of Fame, Michael Jordan was his Representative
Oh And now Scottie Pippen is crying that the Chicago Bulls got along well without Michael Jordan.
Sad to see pippen like this
Scottie Pippen is jealous of Michael Jordan because Mike still making money, and Scottie is not!
This makes Michael Jordan even greater..

Exactly, he didn't start this slander tour til he wrote the book.

Couldn’t win a mvp? Couldn’t win a finals mvp? Couldn’t win a scoring title?
He is still NOT Michael Jordan!!!!
I watched a TON of Bulls Basketball from 89-98... Jordan doesn't win without Pippen. One of the best all around players in the history of the league.
Tony was more clutch than Pip that’s why he got the last shot, he’ll Paxon & Kerr have hit bigger shots than him. He blew a 20 point lead in the 4th quarter of game 7 in the WCF because he wasn’t a closer.
Toni was a better shooter, not closer. And that Lakers Blazers game has fix written all over it.
yeah you don't see him saying "Kerr's last shot should of been for me!", it's just directly aimed at Michael

How can he be mad at a documentary that was from MJ's perspective. If he wants a documentary then he needs to make one.
Now these are my thoughts my opinion don’t @me because 1.your not gonna change my opinion
And 2.your comment will get deleted !

When I see Pippen I see MJ, the fact is and as Pippen said there's no MJ without Pippen and viceversa

He was asked how he'd want to be remembered. I think the truth of it is "not as second to or under the shadow of MJ," which is why I think his line fits. He isn't trying to say he's better or the best, just doesn't want to be remembered as being somebody's side kick.
