    I bought the core black tie kit for $60 with free shipping this past December. Always used cartridge razors for close to 40 years. It was ok for me nothing outstanding but no way in hell I was paying the price for a genesis. About a month ago I bought the Rockwell 6s and I love it !! Much better shaver that you can adjust blade exposure and unlimited blade choices.

    if balance is a problem, you might want to add electrical or lead tape to head. used to do this with tennis rackets to change balance.

    Proprietary blades is the biggest turnoff with this razor for me. Personally I think the Leaf is a better designed razor for less money. In fact the Leaf/Twig combo is in the price ballpark of the mid-level OneBlade and uses any DE blade. $400 for the premium OneBlade... that's insane!

      Thanks sir. I can certainly understand your perspective on that. I like the leaf and twig quite a bit myself.

    I like my Oneblade Core and the FHS-10 blade is not a good blade for longevity. I find the FHS-10 is good for 2 shaves and gets tossed. I also like using Gem razors and have a lot of GEM SS PTFE blades that I modified a few to test in the Core and they are superior blade when it comes to sharp and longevity IMO. Why they never used Gem blades in the first place is beyond me, they could of had Personna make batches of GEM blades with out the spline no problem and sold them to customers.
    Any ways it is what it is a excellent mild razor that gives a great shave with no irritation or weepers or cuts with a 3 pass shave IMO.

      How did you get the GEM to fit inside the OneBlade? Thanks

    I've never used the CORE but I do have the genesis and I absolutely love it. Its amazing for me. And the one shave per blade is nuts. I get about 5 shaves from a blade easily. One Blade I think is really shooting themselves in the foot telling people to use a blade once. Maybe very thick beards could only get one use. Very inefficient way of doing things. They are trying to be too premium and really limiting the amount of people that can use their product.
    With my consistant use of the razor I dont need to use any type of pressure. The pivoting head is probably useful for newer users to the razor but I'm sure you'll find the angle and technique needed to not use pressure with a few more uses.
    of coarse all these are opinions based on my hair and face type. Razors will not work for everyone.

      I don't have a particularly heavy beard, and I find I get 1.5 - 2 shaves per blade.

    my issue with the blades are they are about $1 per blade which in comparison to carts isnt to bad but still is expensive
    and like you said it's one blade per shave.
    I tried to do two and it pulls very bad

      I use modified Gem blades in mine. They are cheaper and last longer.

      I don't care for it much for head shaving to be honest. It works fine on the face but I didn't like it much on the dome.

    I have a question, yes or no:
    Is the oneblade core razor better than the gillete mach 3?

    • @IAMCDB
      @IAMCDB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a difficult question to answer. Might it be better for a lot of people? Yes. Will it be better for everyone across the board? No. It's probably a better value and uses a single blade. That will be a plus for many people. Also, you're not using carts and adding plastic to landfills. On the other hand, some folks really get great shaves out of their Mach 3 razors:)

    • @DanielMartinez316
      @DanielMartinez316 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@IAMCDB I have sensitive skin, for the time being I am using a mach 3. But I am considering getting a one blade core razor. All of this because of the hope that with the one blade there will be less irritation. Am I right in believing this or not?

    • @IAMCDB
      @IAMCDB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DanielMartinez316 single blade does help a lot of folks. It's impossible to say whether it will work in your case or not but it's worth trying. Are you shaving in the traditional style with multiple passes and so on?

    Overpriced piece of junk. Schick multi-blade cartridge razors do a far better job with less effort and less expense. OneBlade razors seem to be aimed at people who don’t care as much about results as they do about thinking they’re hot shit because they spent a lot on their razor and blades. The “let the pivot do the work” didn’t actually do the work for me. Plus, the head’s shape made it difficult to shave my upper lip right under my nose. Great razor for the hipsters and metrosexuals, though.

    • @IAMCDB

      I didn't care for this version but the other versions are ok. I don't like the proprietary blade though, that bugs me.

  • @SevenDeMagnus
    @SevenDeMagnus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, Interesting. I like single blades better like my GEM antique razor (100 years old) with art deco design, the blades are thicker and hard shaving soaps like the Haslinger (not a fan of sandalwood scent)- I never change the stainless steel blade (it's been almost a year now), as long as it cuts it's good for me, since I shave everyday.
    Is the Oneblade Core significantly better than my GEM razor? Should I replace my GEM with OneBlade Core or the Oneblade HYBRID?
    How come the Oneblade Core is not as good as the Genesis? Did they change the blade mechanism and the blade quality (perhaps inferior, to reduce costs)?
    Thank you.
    God bless, Rev. 21:4

    • @IAMCDB
      @IAMCDB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi sir. I don’t know why the Hybrid or Genesis feels better, it could be just the materials. I don’t think the Oneblade will necessarily be better than your gem razor at all. If you love your gem razor and it suits you, keep using it:) If you want a variety, then of course you can try other things.
