Batman: Arkham Shadow is an action-adventure video game played from a first-person perspective. In the game, the player assumes control of Batman who must stop a new villain called the Rat King from unleashing chaos in the city. The rhythmic, free-flow combat from the previous games returns in Shadow, allowing Batman to attack, stun and counter. Combining these three main abilities can keep Batman attacking while moving between enemies and avoiding being attacked himself. The stealth predator sections are also back. Batman can activate Detective Vision to identify the locations and the patrol patterns of all enemies in an area, and stealth tactics such as silent takedowns, inverted takedowns and hiding in grates can be used against armed enemies. He also has a large arsenal of tools, such as smoke bombs and batarangs to aid combat. The game's structure is similar to that of Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009), in which Batman explores a series of large but confined spaces. Batman can glide from heights using his cape, and use his grapple gun to climb onto higher ledges. As players progress, they will gain new gadgets and tools, enabling them to open up new paths to reach previously inaccessible areas.
I like the idea of Haley genuinely starting off as a compassionate, if slightly over-enthusiastic, therapist trying to help her patients make positive change, only to become frustrated and stonewalled by the still apathetic and corrupt Gotham personnel. It nicely fits her seeking support in the seemingly emphatic, Joker, who instead takes the opportunity to unlock her inner crazy.
@Chadorni Yeah, it's heavily implied the lazarus pit under Gotham is why the people in the city are so messed up. It's basically lead poisoning on steroids.
Harleen Quinzel's portrayal in this game is pretty much an homage to her story in the Harleen comic. One of the reasons she falls prey to Joker is because no one in Gotham found faith in her work. This made Batman feel so terrible for Harleen.
@ (SPOILER) not likely considering his reaction to later actually finding out batman is bruce wen joe was held at gunpoint by harvey so they both know but that was never mentioned or even said or implied in the later games
This game makes the Suicide Squad worse. I mean the same compassionate Harley that even worked with Batman just gunned him down with no regret? I know she was crazy, but it seems very far fetched. Also in that game Harley says Jonathan told her how to make the toxin, although they hated each other according to this game. I think Arkham Shadow is the proof Suicide Squad isn’t canon.
You all hate when suicide squad changes harley because arkhamharley is irredeemable but when this game makes her more likable then it's ok? Because this severely messes with canon.
@@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259 I don’t think it messes the cannon, it is believable that she was good before becoming a monster. What it is not believable is that she suddenly loves poison ivy (no prior relationship) and kills Batman with no remorse (someone that actually helped her)

The game seems to have some interesting ideas to include in the arkham universe in one hand, but in the other hand it has problems to integrate itself into it for some odd decision making. Why make Crane so antagonistic or important in the downfall of Harleen and Harvey if you know thats never mentioned after that?
I think Harley and Harvey's relationship with Crane in Batman Arkham Shadow explains their poor teamwork in Arkham Knight. Two-Face just robs banks, and Harley doesn't tell Scarecrow about Batman's base at the movie studio. Even when Scarecrow breaks in, he doesn't free Harley
I don't think so. I think it's because Bane attacked the prison to deal with Joker. There is no way Joker caused a massive wide prison breakout by himself. On the other hand, Bane had his own militia so him causing a second prison breakout in Blackgate is plausible.
there's no evidence that said she did free him in Origins. she only deliberately freed him from ARKHAM after officially becoming Harley Quinn, as told in her patient tapes in Asylum which reenacted the Mad Love flashbacks
