This was great! Thanks for being so transparent with your earnings. I’m glad I stumbled upon your channel a year or so back when I was searching for...what to do with my fireplace ashes!! 😬
Thanks for yet another inspiring video! I learn a lot from you guys. Keep teaching. (I remember the ashes video. I had made a list of several of its uses that you gave us, and I’ve referred to that list and shared some of it.)
Started listening to you looking for carnivore diet and reviews. I love the entire Homestead way of living. Now I’m 54 and my fiancé is 65 so not sure how much just the two of us could do that would be the perfect lifestyle all we do is research Acreage to see if we we could possibly live there and make a revenue at the same time. PS I started the carnivore diet a week ago and I saw changes within the first three or four days! It was not as hard as I thought it would be for me. I haven’t given up coffee with heavy cream with fruit just yet, but I have a feeling that’s eventually going to go away. I’ve been watching your videos all the way from Destin, Florida back to Texas. The gut one was mind blowing!
So close to 50k a year? Is that including renting out the small fabric tent as its own separate experience? What about the stock photos you guys used to sell?
@@Homesteadhow I have also considered renting a tent or Yurt... but you need to consider a "don's john" as you don't want people pooping all over your property. There are some "higher end" john's available now. Have you looked into these? Thank you
Thank you for sharing. We have a homestead with a cabin that sleeps 6 (in addition to our home) and have thinking about AirBNB or VRBO. Why did you pick AirBNB vs VRBO? Also, do you allow pets in the rental... or do you require pet owners to use the kennel if they want to bring their pet?
We do both! But airbnb vets renters better. We've had some bad experiences on vrbo people trying to throw a party. We allow dogs but charge extra cleaning fee and have some rules..they can use dog kennel but don't force them to. But also they can't leave all day with the dog alone all day. Thx
@@Homesteadhow Makes sense. Thanks! We have been hesitant because of people throwing a party (when our primary home was in the city). It should be ok now that we live on the same property. Your video is inspirational. We live on a large creek and have kayaks... thinking of making that an addition activity as well (monetized of course). Our 30 acres is mostly forest... do you have people who simply want to go out in the woods and animal watch?
QUESTION: Can you speak to the size of your closest towns? I'm considering two air bnb camping sites on our second parcel of land. We live 7 miles (20 min) from a town of 2k people and about 30 miles (45 min) from a town of 17k people. I'm wondering if those towns are too small to attract interest.
Wow about the same! We are 8 miles from town of about 1400 and 30 min from town of 11k. We are an hour from large city ..most guest travel from 1-3 hours away. It was a shock to us getting good business being so secluded but we've found people are happy to travel a decent distance to get away from the city.
Hi how will the new law on if you make $600 total per year through 3rd party pay systems like paypal Venmo going to affect how you will do business in 2022?
Thanks for your humble honesty and being willing to share this personal info....it can helps others.

Thanks Mom!
Just found your channel and I’m impressed by the Air BnB aspect. I just wonder about insurance? What if someone gets hurt on your farm?

We are also 8 miles from town... not too bad. We do have a "country store/gas station" about 4 miles away.
