WONDERFUL STORY!!! I was sure it was going to end up being about the bird dying. I am elated repeat elated that it was not and that John was able to help her or him be healed and return to the skies and to him!!
Wonderful story! i hope that the same love is displayed for all lives, no matter what race, culture or color of skin, I am hopeful, because that is all I have.
Idk why but this reminded me of a stray cat (Glenn) that I had...to take care of for a couple of months about 5yrs ago or so. He always got in my face, and was literally obsessed! with scatching his chin with my beard lol. I was really sad when someone killed him.
Cooper's Hawk spends hours most days on my bird bath about 10' from my desk were I write software. I'm in Phoenix AZ so pretty hot. She didn't come by for a few days once and that was tough. But she's there right now.
Animals are incredibly smart. When they realize they need help and people want to help them, they typically calm down so they can be released or receive medical care, and sometimes they even warm up to certain people that care for them directly to the point where they might go off on their own but will always return to the side of a certain person, because they equate that person with food and safety.

It wouldn't surprise me if the seagull could recognize the sound of his boat.I have known cats that could recognize the sound of my footsteps when I was walking toward their houses, and they have come running. My former landlord used to tell me he knew that he knew when I was returning my aparatment (below his house) before he saw my car because my cats would run to the driveway. Apparently, they knew the sound of my car.
Oh that made me feel good 😊 just watched a troubling story of teens breaking into a petting zoo/farm in NJ & terrorizing animals. The yin & yang I suppose 🙁

They're not sea gulls only gulls. There is no breed of gull called Sea. Don't know what breed it is in Maine but it isn't a Sea Gull.
