I can't tell you how much I am enjoying this journal. and although I like the distressing I'm not missing it in this journal. I love seeing the mix of ephemera.
Such a cute happy journal! So fun to hear the joy in your voice as you make it. I love all the vintage looking papers and ephemera you are using! Love it! Thanks for the memories I am enjoying it right along with you! Happy hugs! 🤗😊🤗
This one is so fun! I watch most of your videos in double time. Some people talk too fast normally and end up sounding like The Chipmunks, but your speech pace is slower. But in fast play you are SO zoomy! It's like you did all of that in 30 minutes instead of 60! 😆 You should see how fast you can distress in double time!! 😂 Thanks for all the Christmas journals! I don't know about anyone else, but I could sit through MANY MORE! ❤😘
I absolutely love this journal. Reminds me so much of my childhood. I need a special Gayle journal and I think this should be it. Top of my Christmas wish list. Thank you for sharing 🤗
You're doing a great job Gayle of "Using it up"!! Sweet cover and the pages inside are looking pretty good too!! Glad the 2 "big" Santa's have found a home in this journal!! TFS!! Hugs, Liz:)
This journal is like Yule morning under the tree, all a jumble with color and pattern and textures of the presents. This is what the holiday should be: A bit of color against the white of the season, a glimpse of Spring to come.
You made me giggle when you said 'Oh what a shame it would be if you used up all your Christmas stuff this year & had to buy all new stuff next year!' Hope you are having a wonderfully relaxing holiday weekend!! 💖🤗💖🤗💖
Adorable journal just love the chubby Santa he is a happy fella. Thanks for the video I enjoyed watching your process and keeping me company while I work. Have a good day, take care!
Gayle, the journal is beautiful. I continue to dream about the day when I would become the proud owner of one of your wonderful journals. Enjoy your evening. Hugs 🤗 Your friend Cindy from a small town in Northern Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️❤️❤️
Gayle, this journal is so stinkin' cute! And you aren't done with it, yet. Amazing what leftovers can become, eh? Kind of matches having leftovers with turkey after Thanksgiving. 😃 Only a few more days until December 1. Wow, another year almost gone. Even with this pandemic, time sure does whiz by fast. I am sure praying that next year will become more of a normal year again. Oh, I almost forgot. Was wondering if some ribbon or lace on the line under that cute little boy and girl might be nice? You have the red glitter on the bottom, holly paper under the boy and girl. And there's a line between the two papers. I'm not there, so I don't really know if some lace or ribbon would work, but I thought I'd just see what you thought about that. You know, I've been noticing the whole Santas being used. No cutting off feet this year? I'm sure the Santas really appreciate it, Gayle. I don't know about last year, but this year you are definitely off the naughty list. 😉 LOL Hope you have a wonderful Saturday with Mr. A. Night, my friend! Sue 🎅Ho!Ho!Ho!
I'm loving this journal and watching you use up all your bits and pieces 😀 it almost feels like an end of term piece, when you've finished all of your work and then can just let go and have some fun. 😂😂 take care.xx
I love eclectic Christmas journals. 😍 Those huge Santa die cuts are awesome! I usually pop large diecuts into a pocket so the back can be used as a journaling spot. Hi and hugs from Alberta, Canada. 🤗❤️💚
Hi and hugs, Gayle! Hope you had a relaxing and wonderful Thanksgiving. This journal is so sweet. The Santas and so many colorful and cute pages are just so delightful.
Thanks for the shout out! I'm loving how this eclectic Christmas journal is turning out. Hope you & Mike had a great time together for Thanksgiving. We had a great time together with my inlaws. Great craft with me video as always. Thanks for sharing with us!
This journal is so much fun to look at 😊I love watching you create Gayle . And BTW. Your nail polish matches! 🥰 I don’t do Christmas journals but this is certainly a winner, Tyfs. Hugs. Maggie ❤️🤗🇨🇦❤️
Yeah! You were able to use the jumbo Santa(s). You sure picked the perfect title...”Use It Up”! It made such a fun, retro looking journal. Thank you for taking us along with you. 🥰❤️🎄
Love this journal...now I am waiting for a series of journals to be made out of all the stuff you keep putting back into your bins until they are nekid empty
@@gayleagostinelli_ct I think seeing nekid bins in your craft room would give you a seizure. 🤣. Even getting low on ephemera (when you’re trying to “use it up”) makes you anxious. 🤣. Never change Gayle - you’re wonderful. 🥰🙂
It’s amazing to me that you can make something outta all the leftover scraps and have it look cohesive. I love those big Santa’s! What a cute journal. Have a happy Black Friday!
Very Very cute journal. It is different to not distress every page but it is turning out beautiful as always. I never comment as I am not one to do that but watch your videos daily. Thank you so much for the inspiration.
Hi Gayle. You got me inspired to go make a little Christmas journal for myself to use during December! Those clear stickers you glued on may have been rub ons.
Hi and hugs to you!!
Great tutorial as always! I received my Tim Holtz deckle edge cutter like yours and I love it! Do you think you could do a video on projects to do with it if there is enough interest? Just a thought as I would love to see you do a video for those of us out here who need a little help in the “coming up with projects” department for it.
So far I’ve really just used the trimmer for digitals I’m using in collage. And I did make one little backing for a Christmas word by trimming Christmas scrapbook paper to fit behind. I will give it some thought though and see what else I can come up with. If you watch most of my videos, you’ll see me using it off and on. I have it close at hand so I can grab it as needed. ❤️
Super cute, as always! Have you ever done a journal entirely of just “Timmy” people in various backgrounds? I think they are so intriguing! New challenge ?😉🤞🤷♀️
I’m enjoying that this is not a distressed Christmas. I distress most things also but not quite as much as you do but I really like watching Rachel and other people who don’t distress, so it’s all good. Did you get your Christmas tree up today? I went to the Goodwill today and got a Little Golden Book, called “Everything I need to know I learned from a little golden book” it was from Kohl’s but I love the cover, it’s very MCM, plus little golden books were totally my jam when I was a kid. I’m definitely going to use the cover not sure about the back just because it’s got a big old Kohl’s label on the back. I’ve been planning on doing a mid century modern journal and I think this could be my cover. It’s really hard to find appropriate mid century modern stuff because nothing’s in the public domain.
Die cutting machines are the best way to cut glitter paper. Just remember if you have a bigz die to face the non glitter side against the foam or the glitter will adhere to it and is super hard to get off.
Hi Gayle, love your creations (especially the Christmas journals) I love that pink Christmas tsunami rose ephemera) you mentioned it comes cut out and in those packages, can you buy the actual ephemera like that or only printables? Thanks for sharing;)
I'm loving your use it up journal. Question?? Since you are going through the book cover and file folder and heavy paper used on the inside cover do you need to switch your sewing machine needle to a heavy duty needle?
Hi Gayle, I'm going totally off topic here but I need your help or advice from anyone who's willing to take the time. Ive been paper crafting for 10 + years and I love it however Ive purchased at least 6 paper trimmers over the years and can't seem to cut a staight edge. At first I thought I must be doing something wrong.Ive wasted loads of paper and ruined many projects, not to mention to the utter fustration. Trimmers have 2 guide markers, one on the left where the paper rests and a small notch on the right, to me it seems they aren't aligned. I watch alot of videos and I dont hear of any one having problems. Projects from you and many of the others ladies always finish off nicely. After all my years of scrapbooking and journal making I'm fustrated and perplexed. I would very much appreciate any advice and tips. ❤
Hi Melanie! I’m not sure what is happening for you with the trimmers, but can only say what I do to make sure the cut is straight and hope that something I mention helps you. As you know, I use the Fiskars rotary cutter and now I have the Tim Holtz decile edge trimmer. The same thing applies to both. I punch my paper up along the raised part at the top of the trimmer, then make sure the paper follows along one of the lines on the base of the trimmer so it’s straight. Then, I think the most crucial thing is holding the paper down tightly as you cut whether just holding with your hand or with a plastic guide depending on your trimmer. The only time I’ve had wonky cuts is when I don’t hold tightly enough. I hope that helps, Melanie! Thanks for watching! ❤️
@@gayleagostinelli_ct Your a very kind lady.Thank you for replying. I always took for granted that the top edge of the trimmer alighned the paper. I've been using the Martha Stewart score board and a fiskars. Makes total scene to pay attention to a vertical guide rather then two separate ones.
