Just my two cents. There are way too many things that will grieve BB DCP. Before there was only He damage and torpedo flooding, either from enemy bbs ( you get 20-30 seconds to reposition your ship before the next volley), Dakka DD (back in the days there were not many and Harugumo would have to decide on armor pens or halved fire chance but still, DDs are taking equal risk of being shot, albeit theoretically), cruisers (again they are risking their hp for doing that), DD torps (similar to British BB reload, at least you have a chance to maneuver in between reloads) BUt nonono. Now we have subs, homing torpedoes, pings that grieve your DCP, cv he/torpedo bombs, dutch air strikes. And people wonder why BBs don't push and they often huddle together and venture into Narnia land. At the end of the day, the engagement is most likely decided by the two dds at the cap. One who knows how to preserve HP and position ships. It's my hot take, destroyer guns and fast reload is not what dictates the engagement. It's always about who can preserve more HP and position better. Just something I observe, although I am a DD main, I am BB sympathizer. P.S. Beg to differ, I don't think bringing a ship back to life is a good idea. People should learn from mistakes and the game should offer an opportunity for that. Maybe bringing in a new mode where the cap points offer sea tenders that heal up nearby friendly ships, just like some operations do. Reward always incentivizes players. It's easy to implement but no profit. Likely WG won't do it.
Another great Vid and your analysis is spot on. Not only in Randoms but Ranked the past few seasons seems to be getting worse and worse to the point of being almost unplayable.
WG just need generate enough new "content" to keep whales money flowing , rest of us is optional we can be replace at any point with bit smarter bots with toxic chat gpt messages
I switched to operations quite a few months ago, Happy! Trying Randoms again but I'll probably return back to Operations. I'm probably nearing 10,000 games in Randoms, it's not as fun as it used to be that's for sure.
To be honest I haven't found any difference in all those years. There are always roflstomps either in your side or the enemy one. that's randoms for you. It sucks to get the daily double in one of those though, because you get so less xp from those games. Also DD today have much better survival rate than before when you could eat full AP pens from BB, carriers have multiple squadrons to get you spotted all the time and there were less cruiser lines and you always had american radars at high tiers.
It's a mod you can download. I think it's in the mod station but, I can't recall. The other mod pack is aslain modpack. Has a lot more mods to choose from but make sure to read the ones you pick. They can cancel each other out sometimes.
I think some of it might be damage vs armor. Many of the BBs can overmatch 30mm so cruisers can be taken out more easily so many times any misplay can result in you taking massive damage and once you have one or two ships on a flank get down to half health the steam roll begins. Then for BBs more things can force them to burn dcp such as all the HE spammers and sub pings which makes them more vulnerable as well.
MM in combination with deployment. Divisions are placed together. So if there are two DD's they are on one side. While with the other team they are seperated. Sometimes all bottom tiers spawns together on one side outnumbered. Game focusses on death strikes not only by mistakes. Too many ships with to many special perks. Eg BB with radar. New ships are OP by design and after the whales have played with them they are nerved (watch What is going to happen to Utrecht)
I think it's the which came first chicken or egg argument much of the time. Most matches where one team lose all their DDs are from the teammates being way too far out of position to support or terrible target selection by those BBs and CAs. You usually see the DDs die first followed quickly by the cruisers supporting them while a clump of battleships are 25km from the capture point. You always have 38-42%ers dying fast on each team, then the team in good positions starts to take the lead. Sometimes they throw from chasing, etc, but good position leading to support wins that initial phase. I find using the player stat tracker helps most, you see those spawned on your side are 40% w/ 18k average damage in their ship and you know to be extra cautious. Sometimes those red players come through for you, but you know going in that they don't see the same tactically that you do. I think I even play nicer, unless they're trolls or AFK.
BB's pushing into a wall of torps or getting HE spammed behind a island from CCs is why BB's don't push . DD's can sneak up on ships. If WG did Nerf to how easy it is to HE burn A BB things would different
Tell WG to quit giving high tier ships to new players. I check player profiles. there is a trend of players having less than 100 games but in a tier 10 ship.
I think they are trying to convert and introduce players to air strikes and since they are OP they will say Hey! this is fun let me just start playing CVs.
Here's my two cents: There's an increasing influx of broken new ships lately, each more broken than the previous ones. More effective DPM results in the flank with less experienced players melting in only few minutes. WG handing out Christmas T10 ships for players with only couple of hundred battles. The increasing amount of dumb point-and-click overmatch BBs, broken leg mods (Colombo and Gouden anyone), PVO and Shinano, and stealth radars... the list goes on. If one goes to play T6-T8, the situation is much better.
Ripper well you asked a lot of questions for which we can discuss days and not find a solution generally i can say the game has so many problems due to all the facts that you mentioned before such as new player i playes the last week rank t8 and 3 playes in bbs do not know the button of hudro lol also weegee keeps feeding the chase of introductuon the most gimmick and op ship regarding cvs and subs yes i can agree if your opponent knows his ship how to play it you have an unfair fight furthermore the dds tactics and gameplay is so various that me after having 7247 matches only on dds i am still learning something so naturally i can say it is difficult class of ahips not for everyone finally regarding air strikes well weegee trying to find a new solution to a very old problem which called make the game to be played more cloaer to medium and close distances and try to prevent camping and have bbs sitting in their spawn and shooting 20 km shoots.I believe yet again this solution will fail cause weegee has so many ships and lines who favour camping and sitting back.Furthermore do not forget that wow is a free to play game so weegee need to make money somehow that is why they are adding new ships and lines and will keep doing that in order somebody to buy their product. I know many players left cause of this all things.I guess still weegee keeps to making profit via new comer players as long this tactic bring money to weegee i guess they will not change it so all the problems that you mentioned before in the video will never get resolved or fixed. You are right, now world of planes. Far too many OP planes. In WWII cv's made battle ships and gun cruisers, as well as the traditional dd obsolete. Now WG are copying this, plus adding sooo many other ships with planes that the ships are becoming obsolete.
Ripper, the last thing we need is the ability to come back to life within the same game. People already play as if it doesn't matter and go charging in where they shouldn't. Give them respawns and it will get just that much worse. The best way for them to learn is to keep consequences in place for imprudent courses of action. If they want respawns they can go play war thunder. Maybe they can make it change to the Matchmaker so it takes into account the number of battles as a possible way of putting those of like experience equally throughout the teams. It's not a perfect solution but it's something.
matchmaker is broken by design , to keep people interested they need even biggest potato to win sometimes , so they put few 40% winrate "players" with superunicums on one side , and throw some poor unlucky mid tier players to get devoured . with matchmaking monitor you can see at the start of game who is gonna win before first shoots are fired. also WG decided at some point that we getting to much credits so for new player without economy boosts getting new ships is hard, so they tend to go into destroyers that are significantly cheaper, and then you have noobs on destroyers that as you mentioned are super duper important, and DD gamplay is getting more and more harder with subs , planes , radars , hydros and other junk.
Its the MM, end of story, you can pick the winner just about every game, by looking at the list (perfect example in your video). Smaland vs Yugumo, Salam vs Cerberus, Yamato vs Colombo.... you see it every match, even see 4 radars vs ZERO, NOT EVEN JOKING. 2-3 Hybrids vs 1. The list goes on, no new maps with 10000 games players vs 2000 games (that didnt even know the maps had names), and they'll be stacked all on one side. Its flags vs some that can't even have the budget to afford them... they're killing their own game for their hunger for money. Bomb planes are actually a bonus and i can already see more pushing than just camping, its a good change. Lets hope it works... but the MM, they need to fix this S tier vs bottom Tier crap, you will see it just about every game. Even saw two G Hoffmans vs Shimas... i mean COME ON, GUESS WHO WINS!!!

MM is not Random. WG determines the winner and looser through win rate and ship selection. Every now and then, they'll give you an even MM.
