Why you SHOULD play Dauntless

- This script is a little old, I've been job hunting so videos have been on the backburner, but writing has not! I have 2 more scripts completed, just need to go through making them into videos.
If you're curious, one will be a shorter 6-8 minute video on Bloons, and another covering what I think makes Fullmetal Alchemist (manga) such a great story. If you're interested in seeing that, of course, stay tuned :)
Outside of that currently I'm working on also writing Part 1 to My Journey into Sekiro, and also a different-ish idea that will be an INCREDIBLY long video about the character development of heroes in story, the first spotlight will fall on Yuusuke Urameshi (17 pages into the script, which covers about 77 chapters of the story... still 70ish more, but the story beats condense by the end so not as much to highlight).
I've been finnicky with other ideas, so some stuff is just scrapped for now... but I'm always thinking. If there's ANYTHING you want to see discussed let me know, like, I'd really appreciate that! Would love to know what burning questions are on your mind, maybe I have some insight or answers?!?!?!!!

i REALLY want dauntless to succeed with the new update next summer, the cross combo stuff and being able to use old sword mechanics has me so hyped.
100% Daunltess is FUN. Mindless fun... but fun and I think you nailed it on your review. Again I gotta compliment you on your narration and editing. Quality, quality work... very well done!

I have played this game since before the fists, guns, and newer monsters, even back when Koshai was the big bad and Terra wasn't even an element so he was neutral typed with a supposed weakness to fire. I have even reset my account three times just to re-experience the whole game. Game good. PLAY IT.
Dauntless died for me when they nerfed the attack speed cells into the ground, that was the most fun way to play and now it just doesn't feel good.
Was that a recent update?? From when this was made, and when I played the attack speed cells were still massively powerful
@@iamiceTV It's from a long time ago, patch 1.7.0 I think. They used to give upwards of 20-25% at +6 before but now it's like 10% or so? And the overall attack speed is capped at 50% while before there was no cap.
@@yentis They might've reverted or softened that honestly. I can't recall all the cell names off the top of my head, but know for a fact some combination of reuse/assassin's frenzy with the Warpike's group buff mod makes you INSANELY fast. It at least feels much quicker than a hard cap of 50%

I loved this game man, stopped playing because of the fact that there wasnt really any content when i stopped, plus it took a long while to load because of the low player count. but really hope those two arew somwhat better now, also, HOLLOW KNIGHT OST HEARD
So far I haven't sat in any queues, so there's that. Probably not a game to sink 100s of hours into, but it's fun to revisit every now and again for a week or two. As for content, there's some good new-er end game behemoths depending on how long you've been away, and escalations are always a blast.
I've actually been trying to cook up a script covering the HK OST, but still need to finish the game! Something to look forward to maybe.
Yeah I feel that. I miss doing Escalations... Mostly the Ice one. I can solo the rest. Though to be fair I do most things solo anyways.

I haven't finished Hollow Knight yet, but I've already referenced it in like 3 or 4 other videos lol, it's incredible. Never really been a fan of platforming, but it's truly special. I've been workshopping a script covering the OST, but definitely gonna make a WYSP (this video's series) as well.
TOO MANY MENUS
well shit. now you have to play warframe. and you must play it till u at a minimum do the second dream quest witch is 40 to 60 hours in as to me its the best free to play games done right.
My friend's been asking, maybe I'll fall into the peer pressure soon hahah
@@iamiceTV even better if you have friends to play with. they can help with a lot of the system, the game throws at you at the beginning that are poorly explained. however the gameplay is so fun and flued and make up for it. but you have to play it at least to the second dream quest before you make a video about it where they start to really explain the lore and your role in it.
as a side note. the warframe community is a bit nuts and you might get a well performing video out of it :)
ngl this game is soulless, the combat is sad and feels empty. I’ve played this game since launch and nothings really changed and the updates are slow. The weapons are shallow and the monsters only get interesting later into the game. Just hash out the money for MHW
I feel it's a little harsh to call it soulless. They did a good job with what they sought to accomplish, it's free and it's a good stepping stone into the Monster Hunter genre.
But, MHW/MHR are unequivocally better games, much more experience behind those teams, and nuance. Dauntless is a good 'first', at least it was for me.
tbh, i prefer dauntless to MH, not because i like the game better but because MH is slow, complex compared to Dauntless. Rise is a bit faster yes, but it still has the sharpness bs and hunger system.
Weapons are shallow? Dude, there are combo routes on the sword that lead to entirely different effects, giving it great all-rounder status. The hammer balances reloading and timing with mobility to make you a fast but powerful staggering force. The guns give you the ability to play a support role, tossing out buffs and land mines and maintaining a certain distance from monsters. The pike lets you debuff monsters and combines fast combos with a strong power shot that can RIP A SHRIKE OUT OF THE SKY. I've made my point but I'll continue. Chain blades, awesome mobility, great burst damage that can also put out decent aoe. Fists are just great fun, and share the sword's combo stuff while using those combos to grab buffs and power up a big attack to deal fairly good damage, and quite quickly as well. And the axe is your giant damage number generator. I would say more about it but that's kinda all people do with that one... good for breaking parts though so I like that. I will admit, it still has nothing on MHW or other games with that kind of production behind it, but for a free game that's just mean. That said, I do wish they'd update more often, but I feel that if they do that the game will get... oversaturated.

@@limbo5580 Yeah, and I suppose fighting games are better for L M and H, but thankfully someone said, "hey how about we NOT force them to use middle mouse for the last button!" Also I should make a correction here (mostly cuz I'm too lazy to edit the original) There are two normal combos, two that use meter (one for a big slash, one for an aoe) and the other two special effects combos are just hold either of the buttons (light is a dash with a slash instead of a bash, and the heavy is a long ranged GETSUGA TENSHOU that is REALLY good at interrupting monsters) so... Meh. Aaaaaanyways, to the reason I even bothered to come back: you didn't like this game much didja? It's okay if you don't, there's a lot out there. You'll find something interesting eventually! For now however, I'ma get back to leveling the Fenroar and Shrowd populations. Sayonara!
