Hi. Yes In current situation, you meet the minimum income requirement by combining cash savings and income. Savings should be at least 6 months prior to the date of application. I hope the new government will reconsider the salary threshold (if Labour comes to power).

My wifes visa has already been approved succesfully (I applied before the new rules was introduced in April, so I applied under the £18.700 financial requirment requirment). Once this visa is about to expire in two years and half from this date, will my financial requirments to renew the spiuse visa still be £18.700 as i Intially did or am I gonna have to show the new equirment which in that time will be £38.700?

Dont worry, I hope everything will be ok. Please check last page of your passport, there will be a stamp if in case it is refused.

Yes, agree but you are safe. Technically you need an income of £19,400 when you have a cash savings of £40,000. You are still getting £600 up.
