Ola Buddy, you didn't mention something that truly deserves to be praised: This kit's joints are actually able to hold and support his super heavy weapons without any outside help which is definitely impressive as such !

Your not kidding ended up spending 90 on this locally , the A packs was only 54 and had just as many runners.
i'm not sure you knew this but on top of the Sinanju Stein Narrative's rifle being a remake of the Sinanju Stein Original's, the Original's is itself a remake of the Nu Gundam Heavy Weapon System's rifle.

NGL I do want this version even though I have the original Stein, and god do i love the separation of the knee armor for the stein, it's such an amazing kit in every regard.

ironically like in the movie even this kit doesnt give respect to Zoltan they dont bother making a 1/100 minifigure of him ......poor guy
That's it, I'm convinced. Just snagged a kit off Amazon after just purchasing an Amazing Exia. I literally just started building these a month ago starting with the HG Barbatos Lupus and I now have a MG Freedom 2.0, MG Dynames, 1/100 Grimgerde, 1/100 Vidar, Soon to be 1/100 Shwalbe Graze, MG Barbatos, MG Justice, and even pre-ordered a MG Kyrios thanks to yours and Zaku's reviews. Lots of free time due to pandemic and I think I'm set.
THANK YOU! I wasn't sure about the sleeves and chest piece but now I know there's a 'clean' alternative in the same box. I can go ahead and order this new version and not wait for the old one to be restocked.
*unclenches* I was so worried that there was gonna be more issues than just the sleeves iconography to be painted. I’m so excited for this kit.
Gotta pick this guy up. The design of the Sinanju is easily one of my favorite MS designs.
Inlays for the Sleeves markings would add considerably to the cost and development time. There's also an issue with hitting release windows and that's just a reality of business. Yes, I know you (and others) would rather wait (and maybe pay a little more) for better colour separation. The problem is that from a business perspective, you'll generate a lot more sales if you release the kit closer to the release of Gundam Narrative.
That shouldn't impact reviews, but it helps to understand the context of why certain decisions are made.
@Slate Garner The GEP Zeta was an issue with getting to hit a specific price point. The 0088-because it was an online webshop exclusive and can fix their own price much higher than retail-meant they had a lot more budget to work with.
Curiously, it appears that the CAD for both was done at the same time as there are no wasted parts with the 0088. I suspect the 0088 was initially slated for retail, rejected by management due to cost and shifted to the online store.
Wholeheartedly agree. It also makes more sense to use the original ver-ka runner molds to speed up production, even if that little extra will be passed on to the consumer.
Color separated sleeves markings look like garbage. Broken lines and soft edges. Learn to paint and you can get a better result than the disappointing RG.

Am I the only one who's glad it comes with all the extra stuff? Even what is basically the entire inner frame? I mean you have the option to make a grey sinanju stein with the grey inner frame instead of the brown one, plus added weapon and fuel tank options, and no sleeves markings. Even though it comes with an added price, it's totally worth it in my opinion.

It’s just one flaw of the sleeves being missing, and even so it’s really not that bad! It doesn’t look that bad, it’s just slightly more “Narrative version” with that Sleeves marking there

It's an issue that more modern kits with more detail take longer to develop (a lot of the tolerances need to be hand-tooled). In the meantime, they need to keep the production line fed with new products since the business depends on high volume.

Having just built my first MG kit (the RX78-2 V3.0) I'm impressed by the engineering that goes into these kits, additionally, I've caught the MG bug and now find myself wanting the build experience again. I'm really happy that this kit turned out to be great, the next on my list I think... Anyone have any other MG suggestions?
Hyakushiki v2.0 was awesome, just got to be very careful with the gold surface, panel lining it is a challenge without marking it. Amazing detail in the different types of plastic used.

Kinda wish they'd make a MG Sinanju v2 because it's got everything I want in a mobile suit. Sleek but still some bulk. Enough weapons and accessories. A sweetass shield/double beam axe combo.
Solution to the mini Zoltan pilot, add him on a MG Phenex Narrative kit... like in a collection add-on kind of way.
As person interested in customizing this kit feels better to me than the Sinanju itself due to it having more unique armor desing and thus giving difficulty to find cosmetically matching parts.
Btw I recall seeing those fingers being one solid piece in the runners, are they made from seperate parts and prebuilt and embedded to the runner or what?

One thing I didn't see but may have missed in the video: how is the bazooka supposed to get held in the rear of the skirt? The directions show a picture of it, but I couldn't figure out how to properly secure it.

I think the NT ver. would look so much better if it had the backpack and the side boosters of the classic Sinanju, just with Stein styled armor.
you did neglect to mention that the ver, ka kit comes with water slides. IMO that makes it the better kit of the two if they are truly both the same model

Considering I'm buying the MG Sinanju ver. Ka later... I'm using the old trick: silver paint with clear yellow coating
I'm glad they didn't sacrifice detail to separate the colors for the markings. In order to separate the colors on the RG they sacrificed crisp detail. Little tiny 'in between' parts weren''t molded in black, they were just stuck in the gold. Instead of little wings, they look like arrow heads.
I know how to paint. Mine will look even better BECAUSE they molded them in a single piece.

You should review older master grades. The zeon aquatic suits, the gyan, MK II, etc
Sweet Clod I agree. But from a practical standpoint, it would mean a lot of videos at one time, delaying the newer releases. I’m not saying that’s a bad idea, but it would make content a bit inconsistent. But I’d still like to see it

My heart skipped a beat when you turned the torso all around. Is the fit between the torso peg and the hole on this kit better than with the regular Sinanju?
I always wished for this to get a 2.0 ever since the MG Gundam Narrative ver Ka was announced. The new Sinanju ver Ka isn't a 2.0, more like a 1.5 but still a great update nonetheless.

You forgot to test the most important part: can the MG Stein NT hold up the combined beamrifle + bazooka with one hand? Because the HG Stein NT can, which makes it superior by default in my book. And I read that this kit should come with all the original waterslide decals from the Ver. Ka version, can you verify?

I wish HG from IBO line are as good as that HG Sinanju Stein and the HG from The Origin line. I understand that IBO are meant to be relatively cheap but the cheapness really shows (lots of stickers, many hollow plastic parts) smh.

Sorry for dissapoint you, but Sinanju Stein is the true original Sinanju as Frontal's Sinanju is the customized version of it.

Should fit like a glove. Though this does sound like a super lazy effort on Bandai's part - BUT - I don't have an MG Sinanju, so no harm done.

New one is just overall better due to parts separated sleeves making and addition of Sinanju axes, which can be used for pretty awesome poses
