Your very welcome! I noticed that the amp draw of some of these servos would be pushing the limits of what a stock BEC can supply, and would probably benefit from a dedicated 6.0v BEC!
I recently put a emax in my trx4m , it fits the stock bracket no problem with just a little grinding , so far it has been working great and for the price I would definitely buy another
Good to know! Yeah those little Emax are strong for what they are, the price is right and they are widely available! I haven't had any servos out of this batch fail which is great!
Thanks for the test! If you have the room to fit it, the EMAX ES09MD claims more build strength and torque, and is only a couple more bucks. I've used them for about three years in a few planes and they have been good.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I've got another budget servo to test coming soon, the notorious "Ramp Crab" that people have been picking up on Amazon! Thanks for watching!
@@havikhobbies i ended up ordering a nexxspeed servo last night only because it came with the correct horn and plug for the fcx24. Hopefully it works out.
Oh that's pretty cool, didn't realize you could get one with the correct connector! I just cut and shut the wiring with a servo extension to make an adapter so any old servo will work!
@havikhobbies do you know anything about the axi00003 4ws full metal chassis im planning on from ali express? Theres vids on the metal scx24 & thats supposed to be really good
Im having an issue of the truck working intermittently, if i keep using controls on the truck every 5 or 6 seconds it will work for about 2 seconds then stop again for another 5 or 6 seconds. Totally random. Cant figure it out. I unplugged the servo and it worked the first time i tested but then went back to intermittently working. Also tryed unplugging the shift servo and doesnt work.
Hmm that's weird, have you tried replacing the transmitter batteries in case they are low on juice? Does everything else work normally with the steering servo unplugged? I've definitely had my FCX24 do really strange things when the transmitter batteries start getting low....
@@havikhobbies i replaced transmitter batteries with some others out of tv remote but not brand new. I got to go buy some. It does not drive normally with servos unplugged. Does the same thing. When everything is plugged in the servos also work intermittenly.
It's weird they seem to burn out randomly, not necessarily when under a heavy load. I guess that's what you get at this price point?! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
@@havikhobbiesmy emax burned within seconds along with viper and esc combo. It’s putting out 6.023v and it burnt it out almost instantly after running it on
Those emax servos are absolutely trash. Ive had 4 and every one out of the box has horrible chatter. Sounds like its grinding itself apart. You can turn it while off or even take it apart and everything seems fine inside. But they all sound absolutely horrible 🤷♂️ i cant stand the sound. It will make the chatter any time the servo is not at dead center.
Haha yeah they are definitely using the bottom of the barrel parts in them. You definitely get what you pay for! My biggest issue with them is the high failure rate. They work great one day and then just crap out while sitting there tge next!
For me each time I've had one go bad it's always the same transitor on the circuit board. I think cheap components and possibly poor electrical design (or both) are a factor here. I think for the most part they perform decently for the price.
Yes they are cheap, and that is reflected in their quality/ reliability. I still use them from time to time because they are available at my LHS! Hope you have a great weekend!
Nice test. Thanks for spending the time and money for the team.
Thanks! I had fun making the video, I always enjoy this sort of testing 👍
Nice test & very informative thanks for taking the time to do this shootout.

No problem, glad you enjoyed the video. I'll have to check the specs on that one and see if it'll work in these tiny trucks! Thanks for your comment 👍
Got my son an fcx24 smasher 2 weeks ago and the servo already burned out. This vid is just what i was looking for!

Im using the ramp crab 12g servo at the moment but im debating on buying the reef 99micro and be done with it
How do you like those Ramp Crabs? They seem pretty popular!
Helpful, im planning on getting a full metal chassis axi00003 so im looking for a strong one
Nice! None of these servos are crazy strong, but the Furitek/ccxrc servos are probably the pick of the bunch here!

I haven't tried one myself, I haven't had the best luck with Aliex in the past so don't really buy anything from there.
