Great video....just a tip, there were 2 different mags for these...commonly called old & new. One is 8 shot with square floor plate ( like your original) and the 9 shot like your new one. The difference is in the followers.....that's why your pistol no longer has a last shot hold open and when you remove empty mag the slide stays open. When you then insert another mag ( loaded or unloaded) the slide will close when the mag is fully inserted. If the mag is loaded, it will of course chamber a round no slide racking or slide release required. Makes for fast reloads....it's really a good system. Mauser actually had a prototype in 9x19mm...but military chose the luger there is also a 1917 .32acp that is mechanically identical th the 1910 , just larger. Thanks again .
Thanks we appreciate it, I didn't know that but, on this one the top of the mag release broke, which holds open the slide when empty. Even without a clip it wouldn't stay open. Thanks for watching
Wow, these restoration videos are such a Zen moment. It is so satisfying at a deep level to watch you begin and then complete each step... looking forward to the FN.
I'm always amazed at how you can bring rusty old relics back to life. And absolutely astounded how you can get rounds to travel down that nasty barrel and actually hit something! Another great job. Zk
@@TheKinzlerBros my bad, I thought you were doing another one! I might have a gun for you guys to restore. When I get enough time I will figure out how to contact you guys

Thank you for this video. What amazes me most (apart for your skills!) is the incredible ingenuity of those designers at Mauser. Apart for the hand guards, not a single screw involved! As a Belgian, I can't wait for the FN ;-)
A great video as always. Great to see you again, Brandon. I missed a few of your videos, as to I’m in a nursing home suffering with ALS. But gazing at your videos really are tremendous. Hello to Austin for me. See you on the next! ❤❤😊😊
Another great job guys! A well made pistol for it to function properly after all these decades and the condition it was in. Looking forward to your next video!
Heck yes now you have done two .25 caliber guns. One is American and one is German. 👍👍 I like the variety also love that you include the year of production and you actually restore legit old guns not guns that are 20 years old.
This was the first gun I ever shot about 60 years ago. Dad had a nickle plated one. I hoped to inherit it but he gave it to my uncle who's house got robbed a couple of months later and he lost it. Along with a model 1894 Winchester lever action with an octagon barrel that I also very much wanted.
чем замысловатее, сложнее, тем лучше? Прекрасная альтернатива этим штучкам кольт 1911 года, до сих пор в пользовании US Army; и с которого сделаны и делаются и сейчас клоны в десятках стран. Русский ТТ включительно.
Thanks for the video, I was interested to see how this relatively little known model was disassembled. I would never shoot a barrel that worn, it's a gamble.
🟥 Great resto. Curious why you hot blue versus cold blue. I could see hot blue when the final product would be less pitted and more pristine. It's a thin line between patina and placenta.
Thanks we appreciate it, when they are customers we ship them back. When it's something we have bought, we keep it! The bath helps cure the hot bluing solution, thanks for watching!
Hi guys that was a good clean up on this small pistol and you got it in good condition to make it shooting again awesome video guys can’t wait until the next one you clean up
Yessir, you can shot I said it before! Yes,it's a Mauser but a little ugly too, and I m a german Mauser fan...Marvellous work bros ,your'e awesome! From Northern Germany Ludwig.🎉
Reasons, probably. Small, light, discreet, cheap ammo, easy to use, not so loudy I guess... Yes, some might argue the .25 is an anemic cartridge, but getting shot 3 or 4 times is not nice, whatever the caliber. In such short distances and even more if it's aimed to the face, even a mouse gun can give anyone a bad day. And it does comply with the rules of engagement, considering the reason to use a gun is to cease your attacker's intentions, whether by killing or seriously wounding him, or just scaring the shit outta him and alerting the neighbors.
Good video. I have one just like it. Better shape. Believe grandfather kept it in his butcher shop. Shoots good with fail to eject sometimes. Quality weapon.
Just found one of this today with metal detector in the woods.. It is in really bad conditions.. But is still in one pice! I will try to do someting with him... Thank you!
Is it possible to fix that partial crack and restore the pistol to shoot again?! 🤔 The appearance of the pistol is completely clean and without scratches, the only problem is at the end of the barrel.
At the end of this totally successful video, I'm left wondering what this operation cost. I have the pocket pistol in the 32 caliber. Haven't fired it in ages. Thanks for the great video.
It's awesome watching you give life back to historical pieces like this.

Ya it works great, thanks for watching
It works, but be prepared to re-blue everything.
ပစ္စည်း မှာချင်တယ်
I made my own evaporust. It works just as well, sometimes even a little faster than the original.

one of the few real restoration channels...so many fake ones out there. thanks for the good content.
Thank you very much, yes there is! Thanks for watching!
A better job than some of the butchers one sees on TH-cam who use hammers rather than oil to release parts
Ya there are some that are really rough on them!
Thumbs up and thanks for adding the metric values as well!
Thanks and no problem! Thanks for watching!
amazing restoration
Thanks we appreciate it!
A friend of mine uses a solvent in a ultrasonic cleaner to free up rusted component's. Works real well.

Very nice restoration! I'm always surprised when it's so easy to get 'new' parts for a 100-year-old gun.
Thanks, its not always easy! Thanks for watching
It usually means another gun had to die so another could live. Just the way it is.
Another great restoration 👍👍
Thank you very much!
i love the sound of this gun
Thanks Tim, me too! Thanks for watching
Excellent job!
Thank you very much!
So much metal has been lost in the form of rust, and yet these guns can still function...

Thank you very much we appreciate it, ya it was difficult. Thanks for watching!
While the German guns were aesthetcally pleasing, I can see why the Military went with the 1911. The P08 had way too many moving parts.
Ya I agree 100 percent, thanks for watching!
Hey, nice work on that nice little gun. So glad it turned out so well. Congrats!💪🏻🇺🇸

Try taking a piece of glass and wet dry fine grit then wet polish the flat surfaces of the frame and slide. 1500 will make the engraving pop.
